Oceanaire Seafood Room - BostonLove this placeI don’t eat seafood at all, but I went for a friend’s birthday and we had a great time. They even had personalized menus with the birthday girl's name on it. I had the chicken dish, but it was one of the best I ever had. The chicken was so moist and the mashed potatoes were delicious. My friends loved their dishes especially the stuffed shrimp and the crab cakes. The service was great and our waiter was very accommodating. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, even the non seafood eaters such as myself.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThoroughly enjoyed our dinner.Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Hats off to the entire team.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Notch SeafoodThis is our third time @ Oceanaire and it was a great experience. Our server Felix has a great attention to detail that did not go unnoticed. The food is pricey, no doubt, but the quality is arguably the best in Boston. I would like to see a bit more attention put on the wine list. For a restaurant of this quality there should be a few more quality vintage Burgundy, Bordeaux, California and Italian selections.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected surpriseWalking in we were greeted by pleasant hostess. The restaurant was busy and it had a very nice atmosphere. Not uptight. Dinner started with appretizers and salmon ala crab shrimp scampi to die for with baked Alaska for dessert. Everything was fresh hot and perfect! Our waiter was very happy it made our dinner experience very pleasant and relaxing. No rushing and answered any question. Loved it our New favorite place to Dine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent OceanaireGreat setting in converted bank. The dozen oysters with a bottle of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc was an amazing deal. Well worth a visit.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMixed bagFood was very good except for the grilled halibut which was watery.
Sides and desserts are gigantic especially relative to entrees.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent SeafoodGreat service, food and atmosphere. Will certainly be back!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went withMy husband and I went with our grown kids for my birthday. I read some reviews, mixed, but decided to try it anyway. We were NOT disappointed. I would go back and will. The service was excellent and the food as well. There are many choices of how you can get your choice of fish cooked, topped and seasoned. I had the Bay of Fundy Salmon grilled done 'Black &Blue', which is very slightly cajun with blue cheese crumb topping. It was the 'best' salmon I've ever had. My son got steak and said it was Excellant. The desserts were also quite good. It is in an old very large bank in Boston and the spaciousness is wonderful with a large grand room feel. Great bar as well. Don't hesitate to go. The price is not bad for such quality!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent withThe food was excellent with large portions.I definitely didn't leave hungry. The service was also excellent - not over-bearing and just enough so that when we needed something, the waiter was there. I definitely will return when my travels bring me back to Boston and recommend to my friends.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA terrific location for aA terrific location for a lunch meeting in Boston in s classy old bank building.

The freshness and quality of everything was perfect!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's great to go somewhereIt's great to go somewhere nice in downtown crossing, after all the burrito and falafel places. The waitress recommended the slightly revised Salade Nicoise, with a milder whiter tuna that was on special. It was delicious and I'd recommend it for as long as it's on the menu.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWent here to celebrate twoWent here to celebrate two family birthdays. The food was delicious. I tasted a few different dishes, and they were all great, but the crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWE BOTH FELT THAT THE SERVICEWE BOTH FELT THAT THE SERVICE PERSON DID NOT SEEM TO TAKE AN INTEREST IN US,WHILE HE WAS TALKIBG TO A CERTAIN TABLE OFTER AND TO LONG WE HAD TO LOOK FOR HIM FOR OUR BILL,WE HAD TO ASK ANOTHER SERVER TO FIND HIM AND ASK FOR THE BILL,WE HAD A SHOW TO GET TO AND THE 15 OR MORE WAITING FOR HIM TO BRING THE BILL WAS CUTTING IT SHORT. YOUR PLACE WAS GREAT.FOOD WONDERFUL,WE WOULD ASK NOT O SIT NEAR THE BAR AS THE NOISE FROM THE TV AND THE OTHER BAR CUSOMERS WAS TO MUCH WE COULD NOT HEAR EACH OTHER TALK. MIKE BALLARD.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood, service and ambianceFood, service and ambiance outstanding. Wish we were given a better table. Dining room was empty when we arrived and we were squashed into a semi-booth, close to another table of four. Realized later that the opposite side of the dining room had better seating options and a carpet which absorbed some of the noise.
Will ask for a better table when we go back.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisappointsWe have eaten at several Oceanaires arroun the country and have always found them to serve excellent seafood. This one was no exception. I had the stuffed shrimp and my wife had the fisherman's platter. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful flavor. The platter was a whole lot of food and again perfectly cooked. Neither of us could finish our meals as the portions were huge. We both had the Clam Chowder as a appetizer and it was equally excellent. Service was perfect, could not have been better.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI would go back again.I brought several out of towners to the restuarant this week. I picked it because it was a quick walk from the Parker House. Everyone really enjoyed the seafood. The menu is so extensive it's almost overwhelming. There is something for everyone. Our waiter was excellent. He was informative and knew his wine.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent business lunchGreat food and service. Staff was welcoming and attentive. My husband and I received a free Baked Alaska because it was our anniversary. The Shrimp Cocktail was delicious! My husband had the 16 oz. strip steak which was also very good. The french fries with salt and vinegar (just a touch of vinegar) were some of the best fries we've ever had!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat First ExperienceI loved this restaurant. I've been walking by the Oceanaire while at work for a while and wanted to try it out. I could not be happier with my first experience. After splitting a couple seafood apps, I got the filet and shrimp combo for dinner and the filet was amazing. Great food and service. Really trendy bar, looking forward to coming back.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love the venue - the buildingWe love the venue - the building itself is so dramatic. Food was delicious - and our server was caring and helpful. It was our third visit to Oceanaire and we will return on future visits to Boston.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot.Great oysters and fish. I had a seafood salad which was spectacular, greens were fresh and crunchy and seafood was perfectly dressed.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMehWe went here during Restaurant Week for a late dinner. The atmosphere and service were fantastic. The food, however, was meh. I understand that it's an abbreviated menu for Restaurant Week, but the stuffed haddock was beyond salty, while the salad was underwhelming. Maybe it was an off night, but I can think of a few more places I'd rather go before coming back.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellentThe service was excellent and so was the food. The price was a bit high. Nearly $30 for fisherman's platter was a bit excessive.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA small group of us enjoyedA small group of us enjoyed delicious meals during Restaurant Week at Oceanaire. We've been several times before and have always had great food and service. Even though it was extremely busy that night, this visit was exceptional. Our waiter, Jared, was funny and engaging, as well as helpful and knowledgeable. There's a nice bar to relax and enjoy some wine before dinner. The service there has been very slow the last couple of times. I still gave an outstanding rating because the food and dinner service more than make up for it!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic fresh seafood...somewhatFantastic fresh seafood...somewhat over-priced (exception; restaurant week) excellent service...beautiful setting...2 thumbs up! More luncheon priced entrees would entice me to return more often.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter was outstandingOur waiter was outstanding -- knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and funny. The food was well-prepared and regionally specific. The fish was fresh and not over-cooked. We liked the mix of traditional preparations and more edgy choices.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWaaaaay too noisy for theWaaaaay too noisy for the business dinner that I had there last night - I will ask for one of the separate rooms off of the main dining area if I go back with this group again. We were out of water at least 3 times, and had to ask for the refill.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen we came it was reallyWhen we came it was really cold. We had to request heat. The heater on our side was not working. They asked us if we wanted to move but there was not muckh option so we stayed where we were and the heat got fixed. The people there were really nice. We started with a 1/2 dozen oysters, which were phenomenal. Then our waiter (Clifford - who was absolutely great) brought us over an appetizer of calamari. The calamari was cooked to perfection, and the sweet sauce went very well with the spice from the peppers. Then we had escargot, which was on par with the other similar dishes around the area, but was really cheap compared to most restaurants (only like $8-9). The crab cake entree was great too, which were almost fully lump crab meat, no filler. Ice cream for dessert was the perfect way to cap off the night3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant Week DinnerCame here with a friend for a Tuesday night meal during Restaurant Week. The ambiance is great, it has lots of blue lights and is in an old bank. I had the clam chowder (delicious), stuffed haddock (large portion, well cooked), and Black Bear ice cream (delicious, even served in a shell bowl). Only thing I wasn't crazy about is the price of wine by the bottle wasn't listed. Not sure I would go back outside of restaurant week, but I'm also a student.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite for seafoodThe fish is always fresh and prepared properly.
