We treated ourselves to a Saturday night diner at Oceanaire. We have been to Oceanaire both at their Washinton DC location and the in Fells Point in Balitome. Oceanaire did not disappoint. The tower of shell appetizer was fantastic as usual. The service is great and the food marvalious. From the moment the executive chef (presumably) greeted us at the door to our waitress making sure the valet had the car waiting outside when we left, I was extremely impressed. The Chilean sea bass was better than any I've ever tasted. The bone in rib eye wasn't perfect---but then again, you're a seafood restaurant, so I didn't expect it to be second to none. It was, nonetheless, quite tasty. On this particular visit, there was a crying baby there, but since I suspect that was an anomaly, I found the noise level and overall ambiance to be acceptable. It was my boyfriend's birthday and the menus had happy birthday pre printed on the menu! They even tied the menus with a ribbon and let us keep them! Theyhgave us free dessert which was fantastic! My Alaskan Halibut was so fresh it was almost moving around in my plate. Wine (I think I got a Pinot Noir from Sonoma) was superb and the dessert (Baked Alaska) was great tasting and entertaining while they lit it up in front of us. Service could not have been better. Only problem we had was the traffic in Baltimore due to road closings but they have an excellent Valet parking service right in front of the restaruant. The place was not our first choice but we were very glad we went. The service is some of the best i ever had, the waiter was very attentative and funny. We ordered steaks and they came out perfect.
