We travelled into downtown Denver for a special Mother's Day lunch, with the idea of trying a restaurant we hadn't been to before. Ocean Prime lived up to the reviews we had read and was a great place for such a special occasion. Service was maybe over done with a lot of staff moving throughout the setting area. Noise level started low but as can be expected, with more people coming in, so did the noise level. The wine list was a little pricey.

Our waiter, Jeff, was top-notch and very attentive to our needs. My wife wasn't happy with the first mimosa and he had the bartender make a fresh one to her liking without any words. Due to a late April snowstorm, we cancelled our reservation and had dinner at home. Twelve days later, we went to dinner at Ocean Prime prior to going to a play. The waiter asked if we were celebrating our anniversary. We explained about the snowstorm and were quite surprised when he brought a delicious baked Alaska with, "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate syrup on the plate. We were really impressed with the service! Everyone was friendly, our glasses were never empty, and we were always checked on. We received champagne upon arriving to celebrate our anniversary and they decorated our dessert to say Happy Anniversary as well. Very impressed with the service and ambiance here. But when we went back for our anniversary, we sat in the main room and the noise was deafening. We sat at a round table for six and I could barely hear the person sitting across from me. The waiter had to repeat the specials to both sides of the table because we could not hear her. This was a Wednesday night (not even weekend). I am a Piscetarian, eating only fish, so finding quality and diversity on a menu is always a little difficult. The 5 items we enjoyed all could have been the stars of most fish restaurants where I live, but at Ocean Prime every course just kept getting better. The wine list is fantastic, if a little overpriced, but what restaurant wine isn't....We had a problem with a table of men who just got out of the Rockies game being very loud and boisterous, so we mentioned this to Rick, our server who let the GM Heather know. She immedialtely made us feel comfortable my moving us to a quiet booth to finish our delightful meal. Even the chef Bill came out ot check on us as well. The tuna Tartar and calamari apps were amazing. My wife ordered the twin lobsters. I ordered the seafood tower app for my dinner. Both were fabulous. I know my tower said market price and I didn't ask... but.... it was $100. I think it would be nice if the waiter would have said something.LOL. the Venetian in Vegas charged $58 and Farraddays steakhouse in blackhawk only $53 with lobster.
Finished off with carrot cake and a peanut butter desert.
