  • Catering: We are capable of providing food and cocktails for a large variety of events, on- or off-premise. We often host birthdays, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, pharmaceutical dinners, etc. in the restaurant. For larger events such as wedding receptions and large scale anniversary parties, we can cater in your rental property or selected banquet area with a full scale, personally designed menu.
  • Private Party Facilities: Within the restaurant, we are capable of seating as many as 22 people upstairs for a semi-private event. In our wine room, we can accommodate up to 12. If needed, we can book the downstairs dining area to handle up to 60.

  • "This is our second trip to OBBMB. I recommend the restaurant for its creative menu choices, both land and sea based and special drink selections. The food is creatively prepared and delicious. The wine list while not huge (don't forget to check the reserve list also) presents a variety of selections at multiple price points and levels of taste. The true foodie and wine aficionado will be very satisfied with both the food and wine selections. Service was attentive helpful and polite. By the way there's an outdoor patio/serving area where live music is performed. It's a great place to finish off what's left of your wine or have an after dinner drink. We can't wait to go back."

It seems as if Donny, the owner, never stops reinventing the menu and offers a wonderful selection of exceptional food. Any time we take guests from out of town they cannot stop talking about the dining experience of Ocean Boulevard. We would rate it as our number one choice for fine dining especially fit for special occasions. The wait staff and ambience are also outstanding.   • "Ocean Blvd has been a special place we go now and then. It can get a bit pricey, but the food has always been fantastic. It's always fresh and you can tell it's mostly all local seafood used here. If it's not fresh, it's not here. I had the swordfish and since it is not always fresh or in season seeing it as a special was a treat. It was fantastic and very fresh and not at all "fishy" which means it was fresh. My wife had the crab cake which is also only available when local blue crabs are in season. I don't much care about the martinis, but they seem popular with many that go here."

  • "We have eaten here four times now, and love the chic dining room, the amazing service, the small, inventive menu, and the ocean view. Our last dinner there was very good, but one of our mains (the tenderloin of beef) was medium, and we ordered it medium-rare. Ditto for the pork tenderloin. The other items were delicious. We will definitely return."

  • "There were 9 of us for dinner. My meal personally was delicious. One person was not satisfied with her strip steak and thought it lacked flavor. I have been to Ocean Blvd. many times and not once have I been disappointed! It is our go to place for a great meal. We will continue to go there for a great meal and the best service."

  • "A trip to the Outer Banks is not complete without dinner at Ocean Boulevard. I don't consider myself to be a "foodie" but I do travel extensively and spend more than 300 nights "on the road". The idea of just "one more dinner out" as opposed to just a quiet meal at the cottage is always overcome by the fact that Ocean Boulevard provides for an outstanding "dining" experience in a setting where one is made to feel like a welcome guest. I always tend toward the swordfish - it's always prepared differently (my favorite was "poached in parchment") - but I have often deferred my - "at the beach/eat seafood" mentality and had the duck. The best part of Ocean Boulevard is the service; it's not the "kids of summer" trying to make a quick buck."

  • "We live in Nags Head, where are many fun and funky "tropical" OVERCROWDED bars and nice restaurants. Ocean Blvd is definitely and ADULT, classy scene. There were NO screaming children sitting at the bar -- like you can find in most of the funky OBX bars (ANNOYING). If you have a special occasion in which you would like a peaceful, romantic, fabulous tasting fresh food, Ocean Blvd is your place. They have a Martini Menu to die for... I love the Hot and Dirty... Delicious."

  • "For years this has been a favorite spot. However, we were very disappointed in our visit this time. Instead of experiencing of the energy and conviviality if the atmosphere downstairs, our party of 3 were placed upstairs where the ambience was totally dead except for the constant running up and fun the stairs of the waitstaff or guests needing to use the bathrooms. We feltike children banished to the attic Ocean Boukevatd's signature bac and cheese was a hit, as always, and the beef tenderloin was thoroughly enjoyed. However, the cream of asparagus soup was not that good. We have had better elsewhere. The salad, eh. And the cappuccino machine broken. Needless to say this leaves us wanting to go dine elsewhere."

  • "I love food... And Ocean Boulevard knows how to craft wonderful food! I chose the Chipotle Shrimp Chowder followed up with Pan Seared duck... Heavenly! My spouse choose the Daily soup special, a creamy Asparagus creation followed by the Pan Seared Tournedos of Beef Tenderloin. This made me wish that I had two stomachs so that I could have ordered another meal! The wait staff is professional, helpful and friendly, which made it more of a culinary experience than just a dinner out. The prices are very reasonable given that the rating system should have a "divine" check box. Make a reservation... Do it now! You will not be disappointed!"

Whenever my husband and I are on the Banks, we eat here multiple times as well. Everyone is always courteous and takes a moment to check in on our dining experience, even if they are swamped with no tables free. It is worth making a reservation in advance to enjoy dinner here."

  • "My husband and I went to the Outer Banks for a weekend getaway to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We wanted a special place to have dinner and remembered eating at Ocean Blvd several years ago. When I made the reservation online, I had included a note asking for a special table becuase it was our anniversary. THey put us in a private room next to a huge window overlooking the water! It was beautiful! We love Caesar salads but this one was more lemony than usual but equally delicious. The NY strip was slightly overcooked but still delicious and the sides were amazing! We topped off dinner with a yummy creme' brulee that was on the house because it was our anniverary! What a pleasant surprise! Great experience. "

  • "My wife and I had been to Ocean Blvd once before and were glad we returned. Often the banquette style seating turns me off, but in this case we were seated next to a charming couple from VA Beach. They had been served just moments before we sat down and as we considered our order offered that the Mahi special was really very special. My wife took that and she later confirmed that it was wonderful. I had some other fish entre that I am embarrassed not to be able to name, but I know it was also very good. We chatted with VA Beach through much of dinner then had desert and Irish coffee after they left. We will visit Ocean Blvd again next year."

  • "My husband and I annually return to Oceans Blvd. each year, typically for my birthday. Each year we have been happy, but this year they were off. Though they new it was my birthday (we told them when we made the reservation), they never once said anything. The Server, who we have had in the past, was disconnected and seemed "off." While we all have off days...the food was still just okay. We passed on dessert (which we never do) because there was nothing on their that impressed us. Bottom line: we were disappointed. We both agreed to skip this place for awhile. We need some time to "miss it" before we go back again."

  • "This was our third or fourth time at Ocean Blvd. As before, our meal was excellent. My wife and I each had a different fish special. Each was prepared and presented excellently. Our wines by the glass were great compliments to the entrees. About the only downer was that service was very slow. Since this had never happened to us before, I can only attribute it this time to the very crowded Memorial Day weekend. Plenty of tables were just being seated at 9:00. We make it to the Outer Banks once a year, and dining at Ocean Blvd is always on our lists of "must do's"."

  • "Ocean Boulevard is a treasure. A knowledgeable staff makes sure you don't miss anything that might appeal to you. The chefs create exquisite combinations but won't hesitate to adjust your meal to your special needs or desires. If you are a martini drinker their menu is extensive and their wine list offers choices for the finest palate. Along with all of this is the casual, laid back beach feeling that allows for shorts and sandals although most diners "dress up" a little for this treat. (Here "dress up" is a collared shirt and slacks for the gents!) "

  • "OB has been a favorite of mine for many years. The food quality remains consistently high and the service is usually very good. The dining room has a comfortable appearance but the noise level and seating selection diminish what would otherwise be a very relaxing experience. My only other criticisms relate to portion size and menu variety. I'd like to see more seafood on your menu and would appreciate more frequent changes to reflect the seasonality of available local seafood . OB commands one of the highest price points per entrée on the Outer Banks and therefore portion size should never be an issue. "

  • "Donny works on the floor harder than any owner/chef I've ever seen. Excellent food, service, dining environment, and even a vegetarian menu which I use. Although I wouldn't recommend bringing children (sometimes adults just want an hour not ruined by kids), my 5 year old always finds something she likes. I forgot the candle for my sister's favorite desert which she chose after her birthday dinner. Not a problem. Several members of the staff remembered my not in my reservation. They placed a candle in the chocolate gateau and wrote Happy 21st Birthday in chocolate sauce around the plate. It looked gorgeous. "

  • "Charming, unpretentious restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and seated us immediately. Waitress could not have been nicer and helpful. We had a wonderful dinner. It is obvious that the chef is a master of his trade and know exactly on how to pair food to create delectable dishes. We had an appetizer with soft shell crabs (a special) that was out of this world. This is the perfect destination for a nice dinner, maybe for a date or to enjoy great food with your friends. We omcwill be definitely back!"

  • "We were looking for a great fine dining experience for our anniversary, but found that it came up quite short. While at the bistro our food was ordered and we had only received our first course within an hour and 15 minutes of being seated. After receiving our first course we only saw our waiter once, if that, in between the time we received our first and second courses. When we got our food, I felt that my fish was under cooked after my temp. request was made and planned to tell the waiter but he never came back around until I was almost finished with my meal. The staff wasn't rude, but we felt that we were not served well at all and felt unimportant. When we spent $75 on a meal we felt our experience was quite lackluster. "

  • "Four of us went there on a Saturday night. The place was pretty crowded and the noise level was uncomfortable until the place thinned out a bit. The food was quite good, particularly for a beach restaurant, and the waitress was as nice as can be, but it too a very long time to get our entrees and even longer to get dessert. I would go back, but there may be better choices."
