Ocean Blvd Bistro and Martini BarOBX Restaurant Week 2013We chose Ocean Blvd restaurant because of its varied selection for OBX Restaurant Week 2013 and were not disappointed in the offerings. All portions were generous and our party of 4 left the restaurant totally satisfied. Our appetizers included cream of asparagus soup, hushpuppy-battered shrimp, and skewered beef kabobs. Main entrees were NC-style crabcake, grilled snapper, and roasted pork shoulder. For dessert, we had white chocolate cream brulee, dark chocolate gateau, and lemon cookie with vanilla ice cream. The peach martini was a hit.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMHas chaged over the years....Interior has changed over the years and is now more of a "yuppie" restaurant. It was quiet; now it is noisy. Noise from the open kitchen; noise from the diners. They were VERY accommodating to a restricted diet. Food was quite good. Bench seating is somewhat uncomfortable. However, we will leave it on out list of favorites at OBX.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful evening!Local tuna outstanding, Service excellent, Ambience perfect! Never miss visit to OBX to eat here.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DelightWe came for our anniversary dinner. The mix if tastes and textures was delightful. The service was very supportive. A great night was had by all.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchWe love the relaxed atmosphere of Ocean Blvd, and the view of the beach from the dining area. The crab stuffed omelet and sea food bisque were an outstanding choice for brunch. Although we did not sample the wine list, it was quite extensive and reasonably priced. We look forward to another "special occasion" experience at Ocean Blvd., a real gem in the OBX.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for special birthdaysAlways a joy to dine at Ocean Blvd. It's a special occasion restaurant for us, and we do have quite a few special occasions.
Donnie, you were very busy over the noon hour of Mothers' Day, so we didn't get a chance to say "Hello".5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Mother's Day BrunchWe've always held Ocean Boulevard in the company of just a handful of truly great places to dine on the Outer Banks, so we were pretty sure Mother's Day Brunch would be the same great experience we're used to at dinner and they did not disappoint. We made our reservation last minute and ended up sitting at the bar which was just as fun as the dining room. Crab and maypea omelet was full of fresh jumbo lump and local may peas. Mom loved the french toast and the eggs benedict was good, too. We'll be back for a nights out and special occasions both!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOcean Boulevard excels on the OuterOn a busy Sunday evening-Mother's Day, we enjoyed a well-prepared dinner with imaginative cuisine. We have been coming to Ocean Blvd. for some years and have always been happy. We look for their catch of the day which is a,ways imaginative and well-prepared. I ordered the soft shell crab appetizer in a dinner portion. Initially after a long wait, the meal came but was cold. The personable young owner/chef replaced the entree. This remains one of the best establishments on the Outer Banks.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Very GoodWe happened to go during Restaurant Week - 3 courses for $35. Definitely a deal for the quality of food. I had the OB salad complete with toasted nuts, lots of chunks of blue cheese and a light dressing. Next came ginger glazed tilefish with sticky jasmine rice and oriental inspired veggies, ended with vanilla creme brulee? My husband had hush puppy battered shrimp skewers, a pork dish and molten chocolate cake. Everything was delish!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNot perfect, but very good.Service was excellent at the Ocean Blvd Bistro; attentive waitperson, bus boy and manager. The food was really very good but was missing a few details that would have made it excellent. I ordered the scallop appetizer and was initially happy to see some summer rolls on the plate. Unfortunately the rice paper was freezing cold and was stuffed with some very bitter cabbage. Not appetizing. The scallops were very well cooked however. The Tuna Entree was perfectly cooked as well, but sitting on some mediocre saffron risotto. My husbands Mahi plate special was well laid out however and was probably the highlight of our dinner. Fresh vegetables, sauces and other accompaniments were perfect. Choc Gateau and Sarsaparilla Ice Cream were very good.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe appetizers are great. The appetizers are great. Tried the Outer Babks Skillet which was superb. The Sushimi Tuni remains a great find. The beef tenderloin was done perfectly. The vodka gimlet and vodka martini where so good we double up and skipped the impressive wine list.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe LOVE coming to the OBXWe LOVE coming to the OBX and dining with Donny and his staff. The food is spot on perfect - a fabulous wine list and great service. "Rosy Cheeks" is a great way to start the evening!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMwE MOSTLY COME ON SPECIALwE MOSTLY COME ON SPECIAL OCCASION AND WE HAVE NOT BEING DISAPPOINTED - wOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYBODY THAT WANT GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the best restaurantThis is the best restaurant on the Outer Banks. It's only competitor is in Duck and that restaurant menu is unchanging whereas the menu at Ocean Blvd changes seasonally. We were able to find some low-gluten appetizers and entrees and they were exceptionally good. We would appreciate having more low-gluten choices, however, and trust that in time this restaurant will discover that it can offer fine cuisine without relying so much on wheat as many other fine restaurants have. Our waitress, Laurie, was exceptional. The owners are very knowledgeable about wine and offer a fine selection.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the kind of placeThis is the kind of place that is so good you don't want others to find out about it because you want to be able to get reservations again....food was excellent, great choices and terrific presentation. The service was top notch - staff knew the menu and were very accomodating. We will be back.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstandingLoved the food and will definitely come back. This was our 1st visit. Thank You...Janice3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat St. Patty's Day dinner!Went for their St. Patrick's day dinner. Everything was wonderful! There was a festive but not rowdy atmosphere in the restaurant, and the service was perfect. This has always been one of our favorites, and still is.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBest of OBX for foodiesMy favorite restaurant in the OBX! Great food that is fit for a foodie but not crazy expensive like Colington Cafe (which is another of my favorites but pricey).
The Chef came to our table and took his time answering questions and chatting.
The view of the kitchen creates a warm and welcoming environment.
The service was attentive and friendly and professional.
The food amazing!
The wine list was perfection - we tried 3 red varietals and all were great.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant is a favoriteThe restaurant is a favorite of ours at the Beach.
