A word from Oasis Grille
According to the Mercury News (2007), "The menu in the main restaurant is equally eclectic (compared to its wine lounge), with unusual dishes such as pumpkin borani, which features spicy peppers and garlic, and aushak, pasta filled with leek and cilantro and topped with garlic-yogurt sauce and sautéed ground beef, and simpler starters and entrees such as grilled salmon and beef, shrimp, lamb, and chicken kabobs. The owners have designed their menu to accommodate the palates of those who like spicier, more exotic dishes and those who prefer milder, well-prepared salads, vegetables, and grilled seafood and meat.” Come experience this treasure in Downtown Pleasanton in either the main dining room or our relaxing wine lounge.Continued

  • "Came here for a Saturday morning brunch to celebrate a birthday. Great service with excellent food reccomendations by our server Sierra. We all had an idea if what we wanted them after the waitress explained the specials. We all changed our minds on what we ordered based on Sierra's reccomendations. We all loved her choices. Great wine list, great food, and great service."

  • "We absolutely loved the Oasis Grille! The food was wonderful, starting from the delicious flat bread, to our beautifully presented Caprese starter, to the amazing filet mignon kabobs with the Cilantro Chutney, and the Oasis perfectly Grilled Salmon! And the Warm toffee nut cake dessert is as our waiter Dominic put it "A few seconds of heaven!" The ambience was just perfect, and the service outstanding. (Thank you Dominic for all your great suggestions) This was a last minute decision, and was exactly what my husband & I were looking for, so glad we chose to go here...."

  • "The service was great. We had a group of seven and we ordered the hummus and mixed appetizers, which was very good. For the main course we order kebabs for the table to share - Chicken, Shrimp and Koobideh. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the shrimp was good. The Koobideh, unfortunately, was dry and a bit tough. The atmosphere was very good and contributes to lively discussions."

  • "Our waitress was great, very friendly and attentive. The hostess was a bit on the rude side, but she was young and I can ignore that. Overall our experience was pleasant and we loved the food!"

  • "Overall the food was very good as was the service. My only drawback was the noise level which was loud. Perhaps due to the layout. Lks like a great place for outdoor dining."

  • "Of course, pumpkin borani is the signature dish. Been to Oasis a number of times and they seem to "forget" you often there. You can be seated, then wait and wait for your water. Or be brought your appetizer, then the forget to bring your entree till you ask. Not always, but service is hit or miss."

  • "We enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, but the noise level was way too noisy. We had to shout at each other to be heard. We are senior citizens and although we like lively...this was the noisiest restaurant we've ever been to. It was probably due to the lively bar scene...probably great for younger patrons."

  • "Took friends to dinner - Service was poor, long wait for entre which was delivered over cooked and cold."

  • "Excellent food preparation and good service. Popular and therefore could be loud so ask for quieter option. We did and were pleased overall."

  • "Had heard good things . . .can't imagine why! Expected quality food; found some dishes tasty but some pedestrian at best. Caesar salad was served with a bottled dressing and when I asked the waitress about it her answer was that this item was not one of their specialties. The rack of lamb (4 little chops) and lamb shank were okay but a weird presentation for the shank with the bone chopped into three sections. Hummus side was bland and needed lemon, garlic, tahini -- anything! Ordered two desserts, neither of which was good enough to waste calories on. Asked the waitress if there was a pastry chef or if the desserts were from an outside vendor, she said they were brought in. Certainly not worth another visit!"

  • "My wife and I have been going to Oasis for years and the food is incredible. The servers are excellent and always there to make sure you have what you need."

  • "We were a group of 12 women co-workers. I found the Oasis Grille on a review website and it was highly rated. Every reviewer raved about the appetizer Pumpkin Boroni so we HAD to order some. It was all that and more. Baked butternut squash with garlic yogurt sauce. YUM. With 12 women we had a variety of appetites - large, small, vegetarian, carnivor. Everyone was happy with their meal. Service was excellent - they gave us our own room - and the food recommendations from our server were spot on. Prices were reasonable, ambiance was warm and inviting and I would definitely go back when in Pleasanton."

  • "I went to Oasis Grille with 2 friends for lunch. The server took a long time to take our order and then after the food arrived we didn't see him again and I had to go find him and ask him for the check. I found him at the hostess stand having a conversation with her. I got the Mediterranean salad and the tomatoes were not edible. The salad dressing was way too vinegary. I would have liked it if the waiter checked back with us so I could have asked him for some extra olive oil to balance the dressing. The salad was very bland and tasted like lettuce with vinegar on it. The ambiance was nice and the restaurant is beautiful inside but based on the level of service and the terrible salad that I paid $10 for, I would not go back."

  • "I requested a table for 2 the same day of my reservation . when I showed up they didn't have my name . I was able to get a table and the food and service was excellent . But I think there is a problem with your internet reservations , I had received an email saying my reservation was received and confirmed.Next time I'll just call."

  • "Good food and a good time. I love their mediteranean menu. The shish kebobs are delicious. Cilantro-jalapeno hummus also amazing."

  • "My husband and I went to Oasis primarily to test it out as a possible venue to host a rehearsal dinner for our son, his bride, and their good friends. As soon as we walked in, we knew it wouldn't be the place. While it was lively and fun, and had good food, it was so noisy that my husband and I had to yell at each other to hear one another. We were seated near the front door and not far from the bar; if it had been possible, we would have asked for a quieter table, but none were to be had. My husband had the chicken curry and I had the shrimp kebob, following their signature pumpkin and flat bread appeetizer (which was delicious). Both of us thought the food, while tasty, was just average in quality. OK, not great."

  • "Right on Main Street in downtown Pleasanton sits Oasis. The sign out front is a bit small, but don't pass it by accidentally. When you walk in, you will be led to a pleasant table in the nicely decorated dining room. I don't drink, so I can't speak to the quality of the wine list. But the people a couple of tables away seemed to be enjoying it thoroughly. The food is tasty, and a nice departure from the typical dinner places around town. Oasis definitely has its own feel, and every item we tried had a wonderful Mediterranean flair to it. The best part was that even with the beautiful dining room, cool vibe, and tasty food, the prices were very reasonable."

  • "We went after reading yelp reviews and went basically prepared for poor services and dry chickens, but good beef and other dishes. So as we sat down, we quickly made our selections and placed our order. We mainly ordered beef and shrimp dishes with one chicken kebab to try. Service was just fine, I think because we made proactive movements. (I say so because I could see how slow it can be). Chicken and shrimp were dry as kind of expected, but good seasoning. Beef was good. So everything went as expected. The ambiance is nice. I thought the noise level comfortable, and some people are dressed nice and some were casual, but overall it had a feeling that everyone was there for happy occasions. Overall it was a pleasant experience for us."

  • "This is the third visit to Oasis for us. They're not our most favorite restaurant in downtown Pleasanton, but had a reservation opening at 5:30, while our other choices were already booked up. What I didn't know was Oasis had a specific Valentine's Day menu, a five course offering with a few options, at $75 per person. Add a $35 bottle of wine and tip and we're at $215 for the outing. Now my honey is well worth the expense, but having booked on Open Table, this detail was not know ahead of time. We asked to be seated in the far right hand corner room of the restaurant where it is a bit more cozy and quiet. Our overall experience was very nice and I'd recommend the Oasis to anyone who has not been there. Food was well presented and tasty."

  • "The wood paneling in the dining rooms creates a warm, welcoming environment. Our server was excellent, and the food (kabobs) juicy and flavorful. We really enjoyed our dinner and definitely recommend it. The outdoor area looked inviting, and we are planning to eat there again in the summer when we can enjoy eating outside."

  • "We were very much looking forward to Greek food. However, this restaurant was not what we expected. The chicken kabobs we ordered were far from Greek in preparation -- huge pieces of not high quality chicken, not at all well seasoned, with little vegetables on the skewers, and served with asparagus (good tasting, but not traditional). The salad was pathetic -- inner romaine leaves and core just piled on the plate with huge slices of cucumber and tomato and a dish of dressing on the side. Will not return."

  • "I've dined at oasis on many occasions but this night the service was terrible. Our server was soooo slow and everything took forever. Whenever he came by we had to ask for multiple things or remind him of things cause he took so long to check in on us"

  • "Made reservations to celebrate a birthday. We had seven people. They squeezed us into a table that was more suited for four, putting three on one side, someone on each end and two on the other side. We were very squeezed in. Our table was right by the front door, so every time someone came in we got the blast of cold air. Our waitress was not in the mood to be working, so that added to our frustration. Most of the food was delicious, although some of it came barely warm. Probably our last time there, especially for the money we spent for our special occasion."

  • "Our group of nine people was well taken care of. This was a special birthday family gathering and everyone gave good reviews of Oasis for those there for the first time. Our server was very attentive to the group."

  • "We have eaten here before and will again. My he food is excellent. Especially the pumpkin! My only negative about the food was the lamb shank seemed to be served in a soup rather than a sauce so the mashed potatoes were kind of lost. The service was good. But everything came out almost too quickly and when we were done with dessert the waitress didn't even ask if we wanted refills on coffee. She simply put the check down. I started to wonder as she rushed us through dessert if she was getting off shift. Being rushed during a nice dinner is never what you want."

  • "Whenever I take folks new to Pleasanton to dinner, I pick Oasis first. The food is really good (except their pizzas --too much dough), and their pumpkin borani rocks! The service has been excellent and the price is reasonable."

  • "I have always had a positive experience at Oasis. The food, the friendly service, the atmosphere, everything is just perfect. I have always been there when it was too cold to sit outside, but can see that would be a great spot weather permitting. I have been here with family, catch up with friends, or a romantic date. This is the place for all of those! The food is delicious. I have never had a bad meal. All of the kabobs are great. Lamb Shank is amazing!"

  • "My wife and I visited Oasis for the first time, and we are looking forward to a return visit soon. Very interesting menu, and everything that we ordered (Moroccon-stuffed chicken, Kebobs, Pumpkin Brioni) were outstanding. Interior of the resturant is very pretty, making a dinner outing a special occasion at a reasonable price. Only downside was the the service was just 'okay'. Our waitress depended on the busboys to do most of the work, and she only stopped by the table once after taking our order (never asked for wine refill). That was surprising since the place was not very crowded at the time, and there was plenty of servers."

  • "As usual a terrific meal at Oasis. Busy, busy, busy on a Wednesday night but the crowd was fun and vibrant. Great wine, delicious appetizers and meal were split between friends. Service was a bit slow but the server was very nice and it wouldn't keep me from going back."

  • "I have eaten here many times with friends, family, and business associates. Great for lunch or dinner. Even when crowded conversation is easy. Service and food consistently good. Large portion size usually leaves enough for a meal the next day at home. Mediterranean/Middle Eastern menu is creative, tasty (can get a bit spicy, ask before ordering), and relatively healthy. Wash it all down with their excellent pomegranate juice....! Parking can be a challenge at times."

  • "The restaurant is very nice and our sever was pleasant and knowledge. There were three of us dining. One had a very good meal, the other was OK and the third was marginal. A little over priced for what is served."

  • "We had reservations at 6pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately, it was a good time to arrive--soon after the place was packed. I now know why it was packed - the food is absolutely awesome. We had read on other reviews about the Pumpkin Borani appetizer so had to try it, and it was delicious - the pumpkin was sweet and warm and on top was a garlic yougart sauce; everyone loved it. 3 at our table including myself had the Moroccan stuffed chicken and this was perfect, absolutely delicious. The wines by the glass are reasonably priced. The house wine was a "white blend" from Italy and was really very nice and went well with the chicken, and was about $7 for a full glass (served in a little carafe - very classy). Excellent service."

  • "We have been to Oasis Grille a number of times and always have a positive experience. The food is excellent and a bit more exotic than the standard fare around town. Our NYE dinner was no exception. We especially love the pumpkin borani appetizer. We will certainly be back!"
