  • "To say I love this restaurant would be an understatement. I cannot believe it took me so long to come back. The dinner was delicious. I dined with a friend and we were both very pleased. We both started with gazpacho. I had the cauliflower/almond gazpacho. For our entrees, I had the duck and he had the trout. Both were delicious. We ended the meal with an outstanding chocolate pudding. It was served chilled with pistachio nuts, caramel (if I recall), and a white chocolate sorbet. Our only complaint was that we didn't order two deserts."

  • "We dined at Oakley's on June the 28th. I had read the reviews and glanced at the menu prior to arrival. Without a questions this restaurant is "fit for foodies". I did find the menu a trifle tedious but that was due to the verbosity used to explain the selections, some of which was needed. The wait for the food was very short, which scared me slightly, but the presentation was incredible and I sincerely mean that. All of the entrees we ordered were tasty and interesting. We will return to Oakley's. Excellent food and Exceptional presentation. Clearly this chef knows what consumers are looking for in the Restaurant business. Plus he Thanked us for our business on our way out... Well Done."

Truly an outstanding restaurant. If you have not tried it you must! We've been trying restaurants all over Indy for the past 3 months since moving here and this is by far the very best experience we've had and that is saying a lot. We have had some fabulous meals."

  • "The first course of the pork and grit spring rolls was excellent, but the standout was the corn gnocchi in the second course--Fabulous!! The special salad of tomato and watermelon was also incredible!! It's a great place to go and try lots of things. Be warned about the chairs on the porch--they are not comfortable at all."

  • "I don't eat at Oakley's enough! The few times I have eaten here, the food and service has ALWAYS been top notch. I had the chilled Asparagus Soup which was creamy and cool and the first Asparagus Soup I have eaten that wasn't off the stove and hot. Then I devoured the Idaho Ruby Trout which was served with a bunch of different vegetables, asparagus, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, among others. The bacon spaetzle was hard to figure out without looking at the menu again; it could have been a little more crunchy and had more of a bacon flavor. However coupling it with one of the dribbled sauces on the plate made it very tasty. The food presentation is very well done. And the service could not be beat. Thank you for another great meal."

The service was attentive and efficient and our server provided good advice on the menu.   • "Oakley's has been our favorite restaurant for years. On May 23, 2014, the service was definitely not at the usual standard. We had a spill on our table and needed to remind the server twice before it was cleaned--about 20 minutes from our first report. The server didn't seem that knowledgeable or attentive, in general. Also, the restaurant is no longer carrying the vodkas and bourbons that we prefer. We had never heard of the brands offered. That doesn't mean the brands are bad, we just didn't expect the change from the normal very high quality and known brands like Belvedere and Willett. I ended up having a grapefruit martini that I didn't much care for. My husband had a beer which was good, but not what he wanted. Will try again"

Had a great time with family, but could have taken a nice trip for what we spent. We normally never have room for desert but ended up going to Dairy Queen afterwards."

  • "We were reluctant to go to Oakley's because it was out of the city but let me tell you, it is worth the drive! The food was on par with any top restaurant we have been to in Chicago. The presentation of the food was beautiful and the flavors were intense. We had three of the starters and each had a main course (short ribs and Amish chicken). The Scallops with the apricot mole starter was my favorite but everything was so good! It was our anniversary and the staff made us feel special and Chef Steven Oakley personally delivered desert to us (a light citrus cake, sorbet and chocolate ganache) which finished off the meal with perfection. My husband and I are already talking about taking another trip to Indianapolis just to eat here. "

  • "I took my husband to celebrate his birthday. It was a busy Saturday night, but we were impressed with the attention and service from our waiter. The menu was great, very different from the normal places in Indianapolis. We both started with soup, I tried the squash soup and my husband had the apple/potato soup on special, both were outstanding. I also really liked the shrimp corn dogs, very unusual combo but delicious. Above all, the food was excellently prepared and presented. We kept asking ourselves why we hadn't been here before. Definitely worth a return trip. "
