OakVery exceptional venue forVery exceptional venue for Mother's Day! Food was more than outstanding! Service was not absolutely perfect but very close. Definitely on my list of places to go in Dallas!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchI've been to Oak several times and always really enjoyed it. It was perfect for Mother's Day brunch and the food and service were exceptional.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchOur server went above and beyond, getting us the name of locations where we could purchase morel mushrooms. Food was fabulous, wine suggestion was perfectly paired, my mother and my children had a great time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond Visit not as good as FirstThis was the second time in as many weeks to dine at Oak. The first time was exceptional!! in every aspect. Food was delightful and service was good...but a little lacking. Bar group was a spoiler to the evening...loud and cursing language was not fitting.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSophisticated Dallas gemVery nice experience in all. Great food and pretty nice wine list. Will be back again!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodEverything we had was really good. that said, I'd probably try somewhere new before going back. We thought a few dishes were under seasoned, and we left without dessert.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is a great deal of hypeThere is a great deal of hype about this restaurant - one of THE places to eat in Dallas. It's all deserved. The room is stunning - the seating comfortable and spacious even with a full house. The Cesar salad was uniquely presented and refreshing. The lamb shank was wonderful. The Cherry Neapolitan dessert was one of the best indulgences we've had dining in Dallas. The service was outstanding - very helpful in choosing between all the enticing possibilities.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Dallas' bestOak now has one of the most accomplished staff of chefs in Dallas and the food definitely shows. I highly recommend this restaurant!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood for AdultsThis was our third time at Oak and we have had excellent experiences on each visit. The menu changes sufficiently to keep things interesting and on this visit the food was particularly good - the lamb shank was outstanding and all three courses for both of us were uniformly excellent. We like the professional friendly service and the overall ambience of the house. However, on this visit (early evening) there were two tables with children, including a noisy roaming toddler whose mother thought it cute - we, not so much. It took the edge off an otherwise terrific dining experience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMbeautiful spot, wonderfulbeautiful spot, wonderful decor, great food. The "noise level" is indeed moderate (except when an "energetic" woman from a nearby table started laughing like crazy)5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual Upscale CosmopolitanDelight dining experience. Very different and welcomed ambiance. Great selection of bar service including had to fine Midleton Whiskey and Macallan 30! An Amish looking dude did a great job of serving the table, he was very knowledgeable of all offering Midleton to Brussels Sprout’s. Portions were ideal size and complemented with sauces. Salmon and Beef Loin Strip were delicious. Ice cream was the prefect sweet choice to end the warn spring evening.
Highly recommended!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful for a special dinner out!My husband and I love this restaurant for its low noise level....you can actually have a conversation without having to shout across the table. Also, the booths are very comfortable, the food is great and service very professional. Portion sizes are reasonable and dishes are so flavorful that you feel comfortably satisfied, not stuffed. We would like some additional dessert options, though.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely setting. Food veryLovely setting. Food very good but portions too small for the price. Left hungry after 400 dollars a bit too minimalist Great setting lovely interior, we ate outside a warm evening. Excellent service. Would not go back for above reasons4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food lousy viewService, Food presentation, taste, uniqueness FABULOUS. Loved the interior decor BUT the table where we were seated next to window overlooking the parking lot was HORRIBLE. Get some window treatment and blot out that eyesore. Looking at cars parking is not my idea of a great evening.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food and ServiceThis was our second dining experience at Oak. The menu changes seasonally, so my husband's favorite (The tender octopus) was not available; but our party of five had both excellent food and service. The specialty cocktails are wonderful! Our waiter was very knowledgeable and answered all of our menu questions. One person had the vegetarian pasta option while the others opted for the halibut, lamb shank and pork trio. Everything was cooked to perfection. The highlight of the meal was the scallop appetizer. The scallops were so large that there was enough for our party to share. If someone just wanted a "small plate" for a meal, that would certainly fit the bill. Homemade ice creams with dessert were very good.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMfood good but not great, menufood good but not great, menu selections very limited, portions are too small for price4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first experience at OakOur first experience at Oak was absolutely superb. We had arrived early and found the ambiance perfect. The food was delicious and the wine pairings were excellent. The wait-staff was helpful and very knowledgeable, both as to the food and the wine. The maitre d' accommodated our table selection and the bartender, prior to our meal, was wonderful, mixing me a Vieux Carre, though it wasn't on the menu, and offering my friend a Lolita, for which he didn't charge us, so we could both have something special. It was a fantastic meal and a great night out. Oak is our new favorite place. We most assuredly will be back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated our 5 year anniversarWe celebrated our 5 year anniversary there on Saturday and it was the perfect venue. The food was amazing and our waiter was very knowledgeable. He took the time to review the menu and answer all the questions we had. But he also left us to enjoy the meal without being overwhelming. It was perfect. Thanks!! I’ve recommended it to my friends and co-workers.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Food & Service!Outstanding service and one of the sleekest and inspiring decors I've experienced. The chef has prepared a concentrated and eclectic menu and the service is top notch and very focused. When in Dallas will certainly be back and hats off to one of the best waiters we've ever had in David. Wonderful and truly outstanding. Thank you.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding ExperienceOutstanding experience! Food and service was excellent and I appreciate very much the special recognition of my wife's birthday.....nice touch!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the Best restaurantThis is the Best restaurant in Dallas! The flavors and combinations were outstanding!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experience! FabulousAmazing experience! Fabulous staff and everything was delish!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMy vote for the best overallMy vote for the best overall restaurant in the city. The food is inventive but not "edgy".4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMHad dinner at Oak this weekendHad dinner at Oak this weekend and was very pleased. The ambiance is a bit tech meets industrial ( think a lot of Restoration Hardware fixtures). Nice open room with good lighting and acoustics ( not overly noisy). The service is attentive and helpful, not obtrusive. Tried the Mighty Oak and Lolita cocktails- yes! Started with the Ligurian Caesar- a nice variation with mint. The star was the Moroccan Octopus & Pork Jowls- crusty pork with succulent meat and a South American Chili sauce that tied it all together. My date had the duck breast - medium rare - (would do rare next time, it was excellent and I had the trout - the only disappointment- too overly cooked trying to get the crispy skin.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAll the Right NotesThis was my second time dining at Oak. The first was lunch which was good but nothing outstanding. Dinner Thursday evening was remarkable. The pate on the charcuterie plate was insanely good. The appetizer gnocchi left you wanting even more. The duck was the best I've ever had. And the server, Gadi, was about as great as possible, making the whole dinner even more enjoyable. Add to that spectacular cocktails and one of the most beautiful dining rooms in town, and you have a perfect evening.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply outstanging! We areSimply outstanging! We are looking foward to our next time there.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI surveyed friends beforeI surveyed friends before coming to your restaurant and all were absolutely positive about all of your food and service. I will certainly return and was very pleased.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had one of the best mealsWe had one of the best meals that we've had in a long time at Oak. The service was great and the food was beyond excellent! Will definitely be going back. The couple that we invited that couldn't make it that evening sure missed out!!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat's not to like? The foodWhat's not to like? The food was wonderful, despite the name, octopus and pork jowl appetizer was delicious. Loved the Mighty Oak cocktail and everything else we ate and drank.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDelishWent to Oak with a group of 5 friends - loved every minute of it. We shared the charcuterie platter (small enough for a single person to eat) and the gnocchi, both of which were delicious. Other starters included the Pork Jowls and Octopus (Oak's signature dish) and Agnolotti, both of which delighted. Mains included the pasta dish, the duo of pork and the lamb. All very good. We also ordered 2 side dishes to share (they are big enough for 4 to share), the Spaetzle and the Pommes Saldaise. The Potatoes were fried and well spiced and the Spaetzle were actually Cheese Spaetzle, with Gruyere and roasted onions. No more sharing when it came to dessert! Though the goat cheese beignets needed a bit more honey. Overall a great meal!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply the best restaurantSimply the best restaurant in Dallas right now. Nothing more needs to be said.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing atmosphere, service & foodLoved everything about Oak! Walking into the space was exciting. Beautiful and contemporary light fixtures and furniture. The service and attention to detail was outstanding. Nice touch offering Lemmon, lime, or cucumber for water. The food is creative and fresh. My personal favorite was the octopus with pork jawl appetizer. We also enjoyed the cocktail and wine list. They offer some unique wines be the glass. My friend tried a Grüner Veltliner. A very refreshing and unique find. This paired well with his fresh a asparagus soup topped with a quail egg.
Can't wait to return!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOak is burningI like Oak. They gave you quality vs. quantity. I eat all of my food and did not feel stuff. It was a nice comfortable setting. The Oak is burning because it is hot. Corny, I know, but what can you do.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an outstanding serverWe had an outstanding server who knew the menu and the wines. The overall ambiance was sophisticated and elegant. The meal was delicious and unique. We loved the whole experience.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat first impression! We had a great first impression of Oak. I was told it was one of the hottest new restaurants in Dallas and had to try it for myself! My boyfriend and I went for a special night out (no real occasion) and loved everything from the wine to the food and desserts. I wouldn't describe it as romantic, but it was an enjoyable evening out. We'd love to go back the next time we're in Dallas.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and we had a wonderful and knowledgable server.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat unusual menu.
