Our waiter, Ciro, made choices easy by answering our questions in such detail. The steaks were grilled exactly as ordered. And be sure to order the foie gras on yours. Melts in your mouth.
The chef sent out a small appetizer: a slice of cucumber topped with chopped green tomato & grouper ceviche. It was loaded with flavor. The sides are served family style. We had the asparagus and scalloped potatoes. Both were good.
Dessert was the best chocolate cake ever and it was HUGE !!
Ciro insisted the carrot cake is their best dessert, so he sent us home with a complimentary serving.

Halls was noisy, loud, the in crowd, group celebratory eating and it actually ruined the experience for my husband and I who were wanting a nice quiet meal. They stuffed us into a corner with a group at Halls and we asked to move (had to wait). At Oak, we were seated immediately to our table which was upstairs. The experienced waiter came over, told us about the food, made some suggestions when we asked and was very helpful. We had to local cheese plate which was delish, ribeye delish, with smoky bacon mac and cheese delish.

The staff was very friendly and explained the menu options well. I got filet mignon which literally melted in my mouth. My husband got a dry aged ribeye. True to the waiter's description it had a unique texture and taste that was delicious. The truffle pomme frites were a delicious side item. The steaks were great and prepared to our liking. During this time the manager must have self recognized her earlier actions and then became very friendly and accomodating. My husband had the fried lobster and really enjoyed it. My filet mignon was cooked exactly as I had asked , and my server recommended a wonderful glass of red to go with it after I explained what I did and did not like in a wine. The staff was extremely attentive. Our first table was in a very loud section, but we were moved up to the third floor and it was lovely (the wall murals are beautiful). The manager came over a number of times to check on us.
Our waiter was helpful. At the end of the meal, I requested tea, and he only brought out one option (I think an Indian Spice blend). I asked for a decaffeinated option, and they brought me Citrus Chamomile, but I would suggest that it would be nice for several tea options to have been offered when the tea was first brought out.
