  • "Oak & Ember is known for their tender, delicious steaks. If you have ever dined at Abe & Louie's or Smith & Wollensky in Boston, you will find this comparable. Their sides were also delicious, and prices for this level of dining were reasonable. Our server was top notch!! He was very knowledgeable concerning both the specials (describing them in detail) and the regular menu, as well as the wines and beers served. They also have an extensive "Whiskey Bar", and desserts to die for. The restaurant is in a shopping plaza, so no great views, but it is nicely decorated inside and is very convenient being in the center of Mashpee. All in all, a gem on the Cape, and worth a trip from other Cape Cod towns."

  • "We attended the Joseph Carr wine tasting / paring. I strongly recommend attending any such wine tasting event in the future. The pairings, both wine and food were "off the hook". All of the entrees were well planned and served hot, which is hard to do for multiple settings such as a wine tasting. The staff we well versed and the knowledge of their knowledge of what was coming out next was great. This is a must do event, and I know that my wife, business partner, his wife and I will not miss the next one!!!"

  • "We were hoping O&E would get their act together. Unfortunately they remain average while charging above avg prices. Our steaks were cooked to the requested temperature but the sauces were terrible. The grits were bad. Green beans were perfect. Service was very good in spirit but lacked some training. Not sure we will back."

  • "My husband and I enjoy going to a nice dinner about once a month. We have eaten at the last 3 establishments on this property, all were great meals, but Oak and Ember is far superior. Finally, there is a steak restaurant on the cape who can do a perfect steak. The staff is attentive, and the service is quick, without feeling like you are being rushed through your meal. We will definitely be going back."

  • "The atmosphere is very pretty. The food was superb! The service was exceptional! Only complaint is that 4 of us were placed at a high top table at the bar and we felt very cramped. We even spilled our water with the big heavy menu. Will definitely go again but ask to be seated in the dining room area!"

  • "Love the renovation and bar area. Neither my husband nor I are whiskey drinkers so their huge list of whiskeys was lost on us. The drumstick appetizers were tasty and quite meaty - a good portion for a group of 4. The fried green tomatoes seemed to have more breading than tomato. I ordered a veal steak special entree which was delicious - great flavor, tender and generous portion. My husband ordered the beef tenderloin and this is why I had to lower the general food rating. If you are going to specialize in steaks, they should be better than they were. One would expect good flavor and be tender as butter but it wasn't. The bar area is great - very cozy for a large area with lots of comfortable seating."

  • "My husband and I had a lovely night out and will go back again and again. He got the hanger steak and I got the pistachio encrusted halibut. Both were perfectly prepared and the portions were ample. The cocktail menu is unique and has plenty to choose from no matter what your taste. For example, I got the new fashioned and my husband got the old fashioned, enough said. We each got a glass of wine superbly paired with our respective meals. As always, I never have room for dessert, which looked amazing, one of these days...Service was also fantastic, just the right amount of care to enjoy the experience."

  • "We tried out this restaurant for the first time and from the moment we arrived, we found the staff to be gracious, friendly, and knowledgeable. The place is well designed to accommodate groups at the terrific looking bar to quiet couples in the spacious dining area without disruption or noisiness. The quality and presentation of the food was very good, from appetizer (gotta try the roasted oysters!) to the decadent desserts (OMG, that double chocolate cake was beyond belief). An impressive whiskey menu. The steaks were quite good, but overall also high in price, and because all of the sides are extra, the overall cost of a meal tends to be pretty high. This place is a go to restaurant for a very special occasion. Not for the budget-wary."

  • "4 of us had dinner with you this past Saturday night... mostly our experiance was a positive one. I did however feel that the restaurant was acousticly very loud. for those that may have difficulty hearing it may not be the best place to enjoy a conversation. In addition, although, our meal was for the most part very nice, I would not order the lobster cake again as it was dry and chewy and I felt that overall the alacarte menu was a bit pricey....maybe a once in a while restuarant but not a regular take!"

  • "I brought my daughters here once & we were very pleased. When out of town company came down we went again. Food was delicious and generous. Our waitress was professional, pleasant and attentive. Not once did we feel rushed. We started with wedge salad and everything was fresh. One person ordered the smoked salmon "soup", but it was actually bisque. The noise level is a little loud when you come in but once you settle in, it's fine. Reservations are recommended. We will go back."

  • "My husband and I are always on the lookout for new places to eat. While on the pricey side, the food was absolutely fantastic! The steaks are delicious and cooked to perfection. The lobster cake was full of delicious lobster meat, more than expected. Our waiter, Will, was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgable about the menu and the wine selection and gave excellent recommendations. It was a snowy Saturday night, so hard to judge the usual noise level. The ambience was not what I expected. I guess when I go to a place called "Oak and Ember", I expected it to be a little darker, more "oaky" I guess? However, that did not take anything away from the quality and deliciousness of the food and wine. A definite must-try!!!"

  • "My father in law and I had the 5 oz filet with scallops while my wife and my mother in law had the 13 oz steak. The filet was the best steak I have ever had, at least the best I can remember, my father in law says the same. Scallops were broiled to perfection. When ordering, both of the women said, "13 oz, that's too big, I'll never eat it all." They ate every bite. They enjoyed it immensely. Baked goods were outstanding. Cheese plate app was great. Courtney was our server, they don't get any better. There was live entertainment for the last half of our meal. Great music, softly played an non intrusive, perfect. This place has hit it's stride. That is to say it is hitting on all cylinders. Will be a great place for years to come."

  • "Steaks were a little undercooked; we asked for medium and both were rare to medium-rare, but were very tender and flavorful. The sauces that came with the steaks were very good. They were out of both the appetizer and entree special by our 6:45pm reservation, which is a little early. Service was spot on. I was able to try a few different bourbons and ryes which was a lot of fun."

  • "Visited twice - once with a group of 12 and once with another couple - excellent food and service both times. Grilled filet cooked perfectly rare both times; note: steak orders include one side, unlike most steak houses. Recommend roasted mushrooms, roast fingerling potatoes, creamed spinach (which is not too rich or gloppy). Deviled eggs - 6 halves - are a good table share appetizer with drinks. Wines by the glass come in 2 sizes. Our friends enjoyed a whiskey flight. Our waitress was friendly, but not trying to be a buddy, and her service style was poised and polished. Food pace was just fine - no long waits but no pressure to hurry up, either. One of the best new additions to the upper Cape and will definitely return."

  • "Oak and Ember is a lovely restaurant and a trendy bar. Although we had made reservations,the only table available was a high top in the bar. We asked for a regular table and were told it would be a half hour. We took the high top. We were crowded and had to stand up to get the blood to return to our legs. Some things were odd, for example, with bread we got tiny little bits of butter. The food was very good.. For main dishes two of us ordered the Pan Seared Scallops and Shrimp which were really the size of an appetizer.The others ordered the beef stew and the rib sampler, which were dinner sized and delicious. We shared an apple crisp and a maple crème brule, both wonderful. The restaurant did comp our dessert because of the seating."
