Private rooms are also idea for meetings and presentations. Reception space is also available in the main dining room, bar or our majestic patio. Our recently built patio, complete with hand crafted fountain, full bar and its own fireplace, can hold up to 150 for a full service seated dinner or 300 for a cocktail reception.

A word from Oak + Almond
Oak and almond wood fuels our wood burning oven and stove. Imparting an earthy quality to many of our menu items, these hardwoods are at the heart of our restaurant's philosophy.

With cuisine inspired by the traditions & techniques of yesteryear, our philosophy is simple: provide delicious handcrafted food, created with well sourced seasonal ingredients with a focus on hearth & flame. We source the best artesian ingredients and prepare them simply with respect. The wine program highlights biodynamic and organic selections, which compliment the simple integrity of our menu.

An 18 foot communal table, crafted from local 100 year old oak floorboards anchors the dining room. Hand-rubbed walnut tables, industrial fixtures, and an open kitchen featuring a wood burning oven and stove provide a modern yet warm dining experience.

  • "My first visit to Oak + Almond was quite nice - it has been updated inside and is airy, open and modern. Comfortable seating - easy to have a business conversation without the table next to you being included. Warm olives were excellent! Salmon was cooked to perfection but a bit pricy for 1 piece of salmon on some small but delicious winter root veggies w/nice mild sauce. $21 though...would be better at $17-ish. Others had the burger - said it was amazing (we shared his fries-awesome!). Other diner had kitchen sink salad w/grilled shrimp was quite good. Wonderful, friendly and attentive staff."

  • "Dinner with old friends was divine at Oak and Almond. Their menu left me wishing I could order 5 of each category. Everything came out with a wonderful open fire taste - maybe also because we looked right into the kitchen with its open hearth ovens. It was our first time and our friends' first, too. We all agreed to come back soon. Our Lebanese friend consumed his Haloumi cheese with a smile and my husband agreed his grilled octopus was just right."

  • "Met a friend for lunch recently and you are transformed once you walk thru the door. The smell of the wood oven and the welcoming host makes you forget that you are on rt. 7 next to the DMV. The menu had lots of options and we were not disappointed by our choice of mussels with pommes frites and the daily grilled cheese with a cup of soup. Can't wait to go back and try dinner."

  • "Originally attended in their first 2 weeks. Service was spotty but the food was great and the cocktails were good and overall a good value. Chalked up service to getting the place open and everyone on the same page. Flash forward 10 months. Service still spotty and this time the cocktails were inconsistent. Our waiter was friendly but somehow he lost the flow of the meal. Even the bus staff knew it, tried to help but it wasn't his job. Topping it off, our entrees were forgotten, finally the manager picked it up and told us they were 'just coming out'. 1 hour and 35 minutes after starting our order our food finally arrived. It was luke warm and totally forgettable. The only entree that was close to a good effort was my daughters burger."

  • "A usual spot for us, we've noted changes in management and the menu have brought about an elevation in the overall quality of the offerings. Open Table is great, I requested a special table by the fireplace, and we got it, on the most romantic holiday of the year ;) Overall the restaurant is great. We were served the wrong items for an appetizer and entre, but the waitress handled the error with grace and humor and made things right. In fact, we were glad at having the opportunity to experience another dish. Mistakes happen, wasn't a big deal for us. Service is always very good, they have a great patio also for warmer weather which is great for both lunch and evenings, and they have an indoor and outdoor fireplace. Highly recommended."

  • "We chose Oak & Almond based on our daughter and her boyfriends recommendation. Simply the menu is interesting. Appetizers were good but main courses were bland. The Meatballs were very good. The Roast chicken was ordinary and the Bolognese lacked any distinct flavor.We may go back and try some other choices but won't be running back. The service was very good, we sat close to the oven so the occasional discussion between chefs provided some entertainment."

  • "This is a very large restaurant but the design is made to feel "cozy" based on table arrangement and the two lovely real fireplaces that create a glow throughout. There is an interesting menu with lots of different choices from a gourmet burger to fancier fare. The quality of food is quite good and presentation is impressive such as the salt bed under the oysters. Good wine selection at reasonable mark-ups."

  • "Six of us met for dinner on Monday night after work to try something new! The menu has a great cross section of tastes and the server did an excellent job to explain the dishes and appetizers! Loved the muscles and the grilled octopus starters! Organic chicken with winter root veggies looked yummy and the burger was huge! The wood burning oven added a nice cozy warm ambiance too! Will go back!"

  • "My wife and I had a dinner here with another couple on a Friday night. The service was very spotty.... long waits between courses, and they brought out meals for half of our party at least ten minutes before the rest. The manager came over to explain that when they sent out the first two meals, they didn't realize it was going to a table of 4. Not much of an explanation and there was no free dessert or other comp item for the inconvenience. When the food did get there, it was good and no complaints on food quality. The noise volume in this restaurant is off the charts. Depending on the group around you it may be near impossible to hear you dining companions as it was for us."

The food was good - one of the party had a hamburger and while that itself was good the presentation with loads of french fries was overwhelming and not necessary. The staff while willing to be accomodating seem to lack experience."

Nice staff and well mixed martini. Dinner was delicious. The grilled octopus and flatbread were hits. The meatballs could have used a little more sauce and the mussels needed some crostini to dunk in the broth. Overall, would definitely return!"

Had chicken, a very nice frisee/rugula salad, bread pudding. cocktails are unique and very good. most tables in the restaurant are good. My only complaint was that on a quiet evening the table we had was slightly undesirable (by the front, next to where napkins etc. were stored)."

  • "although not stellar, it is worth having on your list of westport/wilton-area restaurants. menu has something for everyone. really enjoyed the burratta and fluke appetizers, endive salad was also great. Roast chicken was OK; hit the spot but not the best I've had. Also had mussel and fries for entree--mussels could have been tastier if served in a larger bowl to enjoy their broth as I ate; fries were really over-salted but if they hadn't been, would have been great. Lots of potential. Nice to have local, organic, varied. Service: the young-ish staff just needs a bit more training--have passion/knowledge of menu/food, "table-radar" and proper service is what I would expect from a menu and dining room like this. but worth trying."

  • "Having visitied Oak and Alamond's predecessir very happily we were disappointed to find O&A not living up to our expectations on a pass through the Norwalk area. Our server, while polite and efficeint, was (If knowledgeable) unable to articulate descriptions of the items on the menu, e.g. how spicy is the spicy spaghettie -- well, I like it. She could not describe the preparation or describe ingredients unfamiliar to us. We did notice another server describing the menu to his patrons. My husband did find his cod to be very fresh and cooked to perfection. My bucatini had a thicker sauce than expected -- but then how was I to know. The cawliflower soup arrived warm but not hot. My coffee was only luke warm and had to be sent back."

  • "I definitely like this place - it has a cool vibe, very open with big windows and lots of light, dark wood floors, clear glass lights hanging down on black wires. The menu is yummy and varied. I had their grilled cheese which was so good, it was on rye and had mushrooms, not sure what the cheese was, maybe gouda? And it came with cauliflower soup - so good, it had a little rosemary, garlic and oil on top. The drink menu is great - lots of different cocktails I haven't tried before, very creative. The service is slow and not very attentive, e.g. my waitress didn't ask me if I wanted to order a drink or appetizer while waiting for the rest of my party. But I guess it all depends on who you get. I hope this place is here a long time!"

We asked to be moved to a more private area more condusive to conversation and the hostess got quite huffy about the request. The restaurant was not even half full at the time! After a few minutes we were re-seated and had a fantastic waiter with wonderf service & delicious food. All in all a lovely evening! The parking lot in back needs better lighting, though."
