A word from Oak and Almond
Oak and almond wood fuels our wood burning oven and stove. Imparting an earthy quality to many of our menu items, these hardwoods are at the heart of our restaurant's philosophy.

With cuisine inspired by the traditions & techniques of yesteryear, our philosophy is simple: provide delicious handcrafted food, created with well sourced seasonal ingredients with a focus on hearth & flame. We source the best artesian ingredients and prepare them simply with respect. The wine program highlights biodynamic and organic selections, which compliment the simple integrity of our menu.

An 18 foot communal table, crafted from local 100 year old oak floorboards anchors the dining room. Hand-rubbed walnut tables, industrial fixtures, and an open kitchen featuring a wood burning oven and stove provide a modern yet warm dining experience.

If you can overlook the location (next to the DMV), the stand-alone chain feel of the exterior, the undisciplined novice service, then you can appreciate the food, which is fresh, well presented and tasty. The dessert didn't live up to the appetizer and main course. Worth trying again.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Oak and Almond. Very nice atmosphere and good food. Only minor criticisms: the air conditioning was in high and we were freezing, and the food came out too fast - we couldn't enjoy out drinks.

We had a great meal, food and service were great. We were seated by the kitchen and it closed at 9:40pm. So we were still enjoying our dessert/wine, and half the lights went out. It was odd. I think the location of the restaurant is not the best. In a better locale, it would be packed!

My husband and I were very pleased with our dining experience... The burrata app and arugula salad were both delicious and wonderfully prepared -fresh produce and seasoned perfectly. Waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive (albeit very busy). My husband had the burger which was very good and I had the Bronzino which was delicious... Panna cotta for desert was yummy as well. I highly recommend dining here but probably not a good fit if your in a rush. They had the outdoor fire going... Nice music which was a great way to sit back and relax after a long week. We will be back!

Wonderful outdoor patio with huge fireplace and pizza oven, and separate bar area. Noise of the traffic muffled by lively conversation and background music. We liked the different levels also, giving a sense of space and a nice atmosphere. Food has also been top notch and last time was no exception. Service, which was dire when the restaurant first opened, has thankfully greatly improved over the last year! Looking forward to moving inside and trying the main restaurant when the weather get cooler. Love the open kitchen, dark wood floors and private glassed dining room for celebrations.

I have autoimmune issues, and dining out is rare for me due to many food triggers. The staff at Oak + Almond made sure I was able to avoid certain foods and replaced with healthier options (like olive oil rather than canola or soy). Food was great, service was terrific, outdoor patio was nice. I would have to say the only complaint was the smell of garbage in the parking lot, which seemed to be there as well when we visited this location under its previous name.

This was our 10-12 visit to the restaurant, the last time was Mother's Day. We love the food here, creative, fresh ingredients, great taste, love the ambience. The service is completely off, very very slow, was poor on Mother's DY, we thought it was a one off. We were there on Saturday night, not at all crowded, service was slow, not professional, very lax, from order taking, food serving, wine refilling. The lack of diners must be a reflection of the poor service. The food and design of the restaurant is terrific, they need a much stronger front of house manager. It is a shame, don't think I will go back.

I think the intention behind this restaurant is provide a farm to table menu in a relaxed, rustic-cool environment at a relatively high price. The effort is evident on the menu with wonderful sounding dishes but all of our food was disappointing except for the raw oysters which took no actual preparation from the kitchen. The service while not overtly rude was also off the mark by far. Often at farm-to-table restaurants thd service is casual & friendly but staff is always knowledgable and knows when to pull out their high-tab skills. The high-tab was present at the end but knowledge, skill and casual-friendliness were not. The room is great looking though.

Tuscan Oven was one of my favorite places in the area, so I had high expectations for Oak and Almond. I was disappointed in the food and the wine list seemed over priced compared to other restaurants in the area. The atmosphere was great and the service was good, but, overall, not a place I'll revisit or recommend (unless it closes down and reopens back up as Tuscan Over).

Having never been to this restaurant before, I ended up having dinner there last Friday and lunch on Monday. While my meal for dinner was very good, that was not true for all my fellow dinners. My husband ordered wild salmon but asked for some pasta to be served to accompany the fish.Instead he received a full side of pasta with marinara sauce that definitely did not compliment the fish. While he said the fish was delicious, the portion was small and also the most expensive entree. My lunch with a friend 3 days later was somewhat different. This restaurant does a large business lunch crowd, so it was busy and noisy. Our food was good, but $60 for lunch of salad and a pannini with a glass of wine was a bit of a shock.

My experience with the restaurant was different from previous reviewers. I found the food to be acceptable, nothing earth shattering, but tasty and well prepared. My wife enjoyed her hand cut pasta, but found the lobster to be a bit stringy. I would go back, but I don't think I would rush back.

was looking for a good brunch place with outdoor seating....after looking at menu, don't think it is really geared towards that. Outdoor dining is nice. Eggs Benedict was a nice twist but was missing some sort of bread, biscuit, etc to soak up the egg and sauce. Have been here before to dinner...seems like there is a lot of potential, but just missing the mark.

Awful service. A shame b/c food was great - the burrata appetizer was delicious and my husband enjoyed his Caesar salad. For our mains, we had the chittara carbonara and the pasta bolognese - both very good. However, our service was terrible. The restaurant was not busy at all, but it took forever to get our food. The waiter was virtually non existent, and at times I felt like he forgot about us all together. He would aimlessly wander around, and at the end of the night, we waited 20 minutes just to get our credit card back. We had to flag down another employee to get some service.

Dined here with friends on a Friday night. The patio was great. I was worried about noise because the restaurant is right on rt 7, but it was not an issue at all. Service was very very very slow. The waiter would say he would be back in a second and maybe we would see him in 10 minutes. All the drinks took forever to make there way to the table, but all the food was delivered promptly. I think because it was brought by a food runner. The burrata with figs was amazing. As the warm bread and sweet butter. For such a hip place, we were shocked that the restaurant was closing up shop by 10pm. The bar was empty and we were the last ones on the patio for such a perfect summer night.

Fun atmosphere and good food. Our group of 6 had a lot of fun, though service was very slow. Our waiter was hard to find....and a lot of time went by between appetizers and main course. We did order the chicken, which we knew would take an extra 25 minutes, but our 3 course dinner took 3 hours.

First time there. Sat outdoors on a early Sunday evening I found the indoors very appealing with a California vibe and would not be disappointed if we had to eat indoors. There is a nice variety of small plates/appetizers, salads, grilled bread/pizza and upscale entrees. My husband ate all of his pasta entree. The pork shoulder which was a nice balance of tender and moist with a slight caramelized crispiness on the outside of the pieces which was topped with a fresh salad. We shared the warm nuts, a delicious salad along with a bowl of cream of cauliflower soup. Gluten free, vegetarian options are noted.

I have been here several times but this was a disappointing evening. Server was extremely slow and unorganized. Food came and we had a problem with a dish. The server brought us something different but left the original on the bill - even though there was a large hair in it. At 8:30 pm they put a closed sign on the door and turned people away. Strange night, not sure if it was a one night blip or overall going downhill.

Service was slow and when we did get our food it was burned and over cooked. I could not believe the chef would allow that dish to leave his kitchen. They were under staffed and the two waiters they did have working were doing their best while the manager sat in a corner on his computer. The table next to us had the same complaint.

This was my third time at the restaurant and the food and service have definitely deteriorated. The dishes we ordered were mediocre and the waiter needed more training. Even the cocktail we ordered was not made properly. All in all it was not a positive experience and we will not be returning. Too bad because the restaurant had so much potential. Also, the restaurant had very few patrons on a Saturday night. Not a good sign.

We went to O&A with two other couples, and it was a fantastic dinner for all. The slight smell of wood smoke hit us as soon as we entered the restaurant. It was a warm evening and reminded us of a campfire. Everything was wonderful from cocktails to our entrees. Dessert was slightly disappointing, but only relative to the rest our meal. Siracha wings, charred octopus, and arugula salad were divine. The wood fire grilled burger was one of the best ever eaten, and the shrimp and polenta was wonderful. Our friends from lower Westchester all agreed that they'd absolutely come back to visit any time we were willing to go to O&A!

Everything about Oak + Almond is excellent from the environment to the bar to the wood oven smell to the fabulous food. Nice variety on the wine list and great offerings by the glass. The bread is made in their wood burning oven and the butter encourages a second piece! Most dishes are farm to table, using local farms whenever they can. The young owners are often around and greet customers and are always willing to offer suggestions on the menu.

Didn't give the place a second look until it was the only table we could secure last minute for Easter. Wish we had discovered sooner. The food was excellent with some very interesting takes on classic dishes. The runny soft boiled egg elevated the ceasar salad, and the brussel sprout, bacon and potato hash was an exciting alternative to a dry English muffin as a base for the eggs Benedict. I found the French toast to be over the top, but someone with a real sweet tooth would probably adore it. My daughters grilled cheese sandwich was just what you would expect from a children's menu, plain, but we couldn't stop stealing the delicious fries that came with it. Can't wait to go back.
