"I love the decor (what we'd expect to see in the design district!) and there was a great mix of people. Though we dined at 8pm, there were still children on the patio, which was great. The food was very good... the beet starter and risotto were phenominal. The main courses were a bit less impressive. The halibut was overpowered by the sauces, and the pasta dish was served cold. Service left a lot to be desired; our server let us go too long without drinks and forgot to bring the wine list when we asked for it. Since he wasn't checking on us, it took about 15 minutes for us to be able to tell him he'd forgotten it."

"Oak is a fabulous restaurant. The service was exceptional. We celebrated my husband's birthday and the staff made us feel very special even though they had a full house. The bar service and selections were amoung the best in Dallas. I would recommend Oak for special nights or just because! The prices are reasonable and the food was outstanding."

"My friend and I were very pleased with the look and feel of Oak, and our waiter enthusiastically helped us pick from the choices on the menu when ordering. I chose my entree, based upon the fact it had tzatziki sauce in it. So, I thought it was strange when my main course arrived without it. Even stranger, our server did not once check on us after delivering our food. When a manager came by to check in, I asked him about this, and he did bring free desert. However, our server still didn't deem us worthy to grace us with his presence. I was surprised, as I've been hearing such delicious things about Oak."

"I had a very nice experience at Oak on my first visit, and I will definitely try to return. I went for dinner, we ended up having a few appetizers and some dessert. The highlight was probably the veal schnitzle with sweet breads app, but all the food was very good. I had the lamb, which was cooked perfectly, and my date had halibut which tasted great (and I don't normally like fish). I think Oak is in a great location right off 35 in the artsy area of Oak Lawn, and the ambiance is great too. The one negative note was that even with a reservation we ended up waiting for quite a bit a the bar, so it ended up being a 3 hour dinner, so don't go if you're in a rush."

"The food was seasonally fresh, creative and delicious! Had the spring pea risotto and the halibut. Loved them both. Interesting wine list, heavy on California wines but with some Austrian wines too. We will definitely go back!"

"I had heard lots of buzz about Oak so maybe I was expecting too much. I did not like where we were seated which was a table in front of the entrance.
The waiter was the best. Very knowledgable about the menu. The chilled tomato soup was the best part of the meal. Brussels sprouts a big disappointment and the halibut was fine--just not memorable. Nothing but "let's give it another try" makes me want to go there again."
