Diner Reviews
  • "We had business visitors from out of town. It was a most enjoyable evening. The wait staff was excellent with recommendations. The food was very good. We weren’t rushed. Overall a great night."

  • "I am being generous with the rating of this restaurant based on the experience. The main problem was that we brought a bottle of champagne to the resturant since it is BYO. The waiter opened the bottle as soon as he came over to the table without a towel, turning his body or anything like that and the bottle exploded in all directions and got my fiancee covered in champagne. His apologies were fine, but the fact that no one, specifically I mean the manager or owner, came over to ask if she was okay or offer a compensation of any sort for the sloppy service provided by the waiter. So, if anything goes wrong or awry during your meal at Nunzio's do not expect to be taken care of."

  • "We had a 7:30 reservation for 6 people. Even though it was Restaurant Week, and the restaurant was very crowded, we were seated immediately. Half of us ordered from the regular menu and the other half ordered from the special menu. Everything was outstanding. The short ribs with homemade pumpkin gnocchi was delicious. The veal chop was also a standout. It is very obvious that the chef takes pride in his product. This restaurant has become one of our favorites."

  • "The food choices for their restaurant week deals were excellent. The meal included an appetizer, entrée and dessert . The service was very good. You feel like you are sitting out in a garden in Italy. Highly recommend. Will go back and do the regular menu in the new future."

  • "I was referred by a client to check it out and he told us about his usual waiter. It was very delicious. I already told people to check it out."

  • "I have always enjoyed Nunzio's and Saturday was no different. Me and my wife celebrated our three year anniversary and had excellent food and service as always."

  • "Food was delicious. Entree portion was small. Appetizer (tuna carpaccio ) was very good. Bread (for an Italian restaurant) was pretty bad."

  • "This restaurant has become a family favorite. We ate here again this past Saturday and everything was out of this world! We are going back on Easter Sunday with a big group! We can't wait."

  • "Nunzios was fantastic. The food was amazing and the service even better. The waiter was very knowledgeable and the service staff was there before you could even have to ask for anything."

  • "Nunzio"s Restaurant Week menu is a great deal. Choices for each course offered a good variety. Quality of food was excellent, as usual."

  • "This was my first time visiting Nunzio's. I did some research before going so I would know what I was getting into and I have to say the pictures online were exactly the way the restaurant appears. My friend and I were placed in the back hall which was ok but the table was a bit small for the amount of things placed on the table. I know the intent was to give it that small village in Italy feel but I felt a bit cramped. Plus I almost felt like we were in the way with the amount of traffic back and forth down that hall with the servers and other customers. I think that one row of tables should be moved or removed. The food was very good, well prepared and tastey but a bit pricey. More than my wallet can handle on more than a special occasion"

  • "Having visited Italy several times, at Nunzio I felt like I was back in the old world. The ambiance was wonderful and inviting. The food is just as good as my Dad's who was born and raised in Italy. Love the BYOB which makes dining a fun experience without the extra cost. The desert menu has many choices to satisfy the biggest sweet tooth. I will defidently be back."

  • "This restaurant never disappoints on food and service but tables are close together and the noise level is high."

  • "the menu was very different and interesting in a very good way- the food was excellently prepared and presented and the service was the best. we were served very quickly"

  • "Attended for the Wild Game Dinner & enjoyed a delicious combination of Quail, Pheasant, Wild Boar and Venison. Of the six presentations it's hard to choose a favorite. The dinner was memorable & my only regret is that Chef Patruno only prepares this dinner once or twice a year. While this was a special occasion, the menu incorporates a number of creative and traditional dishes that keep you returning . The staff is friendly, helpful & engaging."

  • "This was my second visit to Nunzio's Restaurant and I was very pleased with the whole experience. Our wait person was pleasant, the food was good ( I had steamed clams in white wine, a generous amount of melted butter and garlic and garlic toast as an appetizer, and an herb crust salmon with tomato and basil, roasted potatoes and a side of white beans, cappuccino and cocoanut sorbet). My three friends had spaghetti and meatballs, and were able to take their unfinished portions home. We arrived at 6 to a nearly empty dining room and left at 7:30 when all the tables were taken. We, were not rushed to move out which was very nice."

  • "This was our first visit to Nunzio's. The mark of a good restaurant for me is the quality of the food when it is very busy. We went there on a Saturday night and it was crowded and noisy. Despite the noise the food was good. Each of the four of us had something different and we all enjoyed our meals. My only negative is that the red sauce (or gravy as I would call it) was a little watery when it could have had more substance to it. We shall return."

  • "We took a great friend and his wife to dinner, our first thought was Nunzio's. The charm of the building and the quality and taste of the food is always spot on."

  • "Their restaurant week menu hit all the flavors. There were three of us and we each ordered something different each course. Each dish provided unique taste sensations. Everything was delicious!"

  • "The food was excellent. From appetizers through dessert. The wait staff was attentive and very knowledgeable. Good choice and did not disappoint."

  • "My sister and I enjoyed our meal at Nunzio's though it could have been better. Our Server (Joh, I think) was just awesome. Knowledgeable and attentive. Our appetizers and salad course were wonderful.. The entrees were not as good. My sister's branzino was very dry and my veal chop was smothered in brown gravy that tasted canned (though I am sure it wasn't). The veal chop tasted as if it had it had been par-cooked and then reheated like banquet food often is. Dessert was tasty."

  • "My local "go to" restaurant for out of town guests, when I want just good food, or a pleasant mid week night out. Brings back memories of Adriatic visits. Branzino perfectly cooked, veal osso bucco excellent. Never disappointed at Nunzio's Do not miss Bombato Cioccolati for dessert. Sigh."

  • "On a very quiet Tuesday evening, our waiter "forgot" to serve our second course/appetizer of lobster ravioli. He offered to bring it out with (or after) our entrees. No other "comp" was offerred. Not what I expect from this establishment. Very disappointed!"

  • "My father and I just dined here. It was out of this world! All of the waitstaff and the manager were so very friendly. The food was incredible. It was also nice not be rushed out the door. My father and I had two bottles of wine and the waiter never once hurried us along. The appetizers, main course, and dessert were also well spaced out. I felt like I was back in Italy for a few hours. We will be back!"

  • "We have always been told that we have to try Nunzio's, that the food is out of this world from a well-known Italian chef! The food was good, the service was awesome; but I have to say for us, the food was not outstanding. Although the lobster bisque was good, I have had much tastier at Carolina Blue and other restaurants. And the chicken and sea bass entrees again were good, but I have had better. We would come back but probably only on occasion and not as regulars."

  • "We grabbed a last minute reservation through Open Table. When we arrived the hostess called me "sneaky" and made us wait! Well I wish we would have went with our first instinct and left because the rest was not enjoyable. Our waiter took a really long time to greet us and explain the specials. He was too busy flirting and telling his life story to the table across from us. The appetizer was fine, the bread was poor for an Italian restaurant and our entrees were VERY small. I would not go back again. VERY OVERRATED!"

  • "We found Nunzio's to be quite comfortable and well appointed. It was nice to be there. On a Tuesday night, as expected, it was quiet and the service was not at all stressed to attend to us. Our food was well prepared and tasty from the appetizer through to dessert. However, the portions were really quite small. The calamari appetizer was the smallest I've ever seen. My shrimp entre was a little shrimpy, also. And so on. The added point is that the prices are definitely not shrimpy. The situation was rescued somewhat by Nunzio's being a BYOB, as we always like to have a full bottle at dinners out."

  • "My husband and I went to Nunzio's for our 9th anniversary. It was recommended by a good friend that is a bit of a foodie and it didn't disappoint. We both had specials for the night ~ my husband had a half rack of lamb with rosemary roasted potatoes and I had braised veal with saffron risotto. They were both fantastic. To top the night off we both ordered dessert. My hubbie had an apple tart and I had cheesecake with a chocolate raspberry sauce. His tart was ok, but I have to say my cheesecake was the best I have ever had. Truly amazing!!!! We will definitely head back to Nunzio's again!"

  • "We have dined here on previous occasions and our opinion still is that it is an excellent restaurant. We again had the anti-pasto, which is excellent and the veal marsala .which always is very good. The service is always excellent and the owner walks around checking on customers. Nunzios is one of our favorites in Collingswood, NJ."

  • "the waiter was very good, friendly & helpful. The appetizers were very good. Only complaint is that that the shrimp in my entree was over cooked and not very flavorful. The Rabbit dish my husband got was very good!!"

  • "We had a table of six on a Saturday night. We ordered all the specials and appetizers - perfecto! From beginning to end the food was prepared with attention to detail and very fresh, creative and hot to the table."

  • "Everything was terrific. Starting with our waiter Ryan. Great suggestions and always there before we needed him. We shared the eggplant parm as a appetizer and it was delicious. Followed by fish that was cooked to perfection. We had a 25 minute wait for our table (past reservation time) but it was worth it. A+"

  • "Dined there. Friends choice. I have to say although it is good for the price there are several restaurants in Collingswood that I prefer and also are much more reasonably priced. That being said I enjoyed the pear salad but at $10.50 more expensive than necessary. Also enjoyed the veal parmesan but the side of spaghetti left MUCH to be desired. I am guessing it is boxed and not at all appetizing. I left it on my plate. Also the special dessert of the evening was a "Blueberry Turnover". What arrived was a round thin slice of cake with blueberry topping. Good but was disappointed thinking that I was getting a TURNOVER. At $200 for 4 at a BYOB will dine elsewhere in the future."

  • "The food was great (no complaints there). The atmosphere that night was just okay. My wife and I were visiting for our first time and didn't expect it to be vacant on a Sunday night--but the place was packed! I don't blame anyone at the restaurant and my wife and I were patient, but we waited nearly half an hour to be seated even after having a reservation and then, despite being given the option to wait longer for a more private area (we were hungry and just wanted to sit), we got sat by a large group (15+ people) that was loud--we could barely here each other talk from 2 feet away. Tough to have a romantic dinner. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and as previously stated the food was great. Would like to return at some point."
