  • "The restaurant is beautiful with lovely decor. But the quality/taste of food does not warrant the prices. I've had MUCH before food elsewhere. The server was great but we did have to ask for water refills twice. If you want the quality, go to Killen's in Pearland."

  • "Menu is too narrow and eclectic, portions are small, very over-priced"

  • "13 is very inviting; the ambiance is very nice. The service is very slow. Food was average at best and was overpriced. Wine was way overpriced, even for an upscale restaurant. We ordered a bottle of mid-range priced white wine. The bartender mistakenly brought a bottle of red by the same winery. He did not realize the mistake until he poured a taste for us. He apologized, put the cork in the bottle, set it aside and returned with the correct bottle. Shortly thereafter, the manager took the opened bottle of red to the couple next to us and said that it was a great bottle that they would love. He talked them into buying the wine and feigned opening it with a corkscrew. Don't know for a fact, but he probably charged the full fare."

  • "I wold say give it a try. Still needs a bit of work when it comes with the cooking. Steak not cooked as ordered. Cheeseburger came with sliced potato. The menu states pommes frites. Was not pommes frites! I would return for drinks and the amazing quail from appetizer menu. Quentin, our waiter was very nice and attentive."

  • "This is our third time dining at Number 13 and love this restaurant! McKensie has been our waitress each time and she is awesome!! The dry aged tenderloin is fantastic!!"

  • "They over cooked our steaks twice and then charged us for twice the amount of food. It was taken care of but for that price the food and service should be great. I could do it better at home."

  • "From the food to the view to the service, Number 13 does not disappoint. I have had brunch, lunch and dinner here and the experience has always been excellent. The food is exceptional with good flavors and presentation. The wine selection is very good and covers all price points. The service is very professional and you do not feel rushed to turn over the table. Midweek lunch usually doesn't need a reservation, but weekend brunch and dinners need reservations."

  • "MacKenzie was an awesome waitress: very knowledgeable and attentive with our selections and always there to see if we needed anything! :) The presentation of the food and wine were top notch! The steak and the salmon were to die for and then the chocolate puff of cake or is it pudding? Or is it cake? Who cares when it is warm and just the right amount of sweet to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth at the end of a fabulous meal. Thank you to the chef and the manager that both came and checked on our table just to say hello! :) We will definitely be back!"

  • "Went there for the 4th of July happy hour, (started at 8. We stayed till the fireworks at 9:30). Ordered a couple of Margaritas each and had the sliders and the tacos. Drinks were average. The sliders were one each order & very salty, sort of dry - no juice, and the Tacos were terrible. I can't remember any worse tacos in my whole life. I used to laugh at Ta___ Bel__. This is even below that. However the inside area where they seated us at the beginning looked really nice. Then they told us that we had to sit outside with the mosquitoes if we wanted the happy hour food."

  • "Number 13 was truly one of my favorite places. Really love the food and the wait staff. Why I will not be going back till the winter is that they do not have adiquate A/C. The place is just to hot during the summer."

  • "My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary, and every single thing was fantastic! The drinks, appetizer, meals, and desserts went above our expectations! Our waiter (Bryce) answered every question we had about the menu perfectly and even had our dessert taken off for our anniversary! Best meal and experience we have ever had!"

  • "This visit was a big improvement over the last one. Dry aged strip was very good. Redfish just OK. Service was adequate but still does not match the prices and what this place is trying to be - had to ask for bread, they couldn't find a pepper mill, etc. Number 13 is at a crossroads in my opinion. They either need to really ramp up service and install a dress code to match their exisiting prices or lower their prices and remain where they are. I don't think Galvestonians want another stuffy restaurant but allowing folks in wearing bathing suits and flip flops while I'm trying to endjoy a $300 meal for two is a disconnect."

  • "The food wasn't very good and over priced. The steak was advertised as dry aged beef but what we received was a steak that had lots of fat and not very good. I did like the view and the energy outside with live music being played. "

  • "Food was excellent, steak a bit under seasoned but otherwise no complaints. Not upset considering it is a relatively new establishment "

  • "I have been to Number 13 about a dozen times and I have to be honest with myself... The staff is excellent... When the Chef is in the kitchen, the food is excellent... At lunch , its usually the Sous Chef... And the food at best is average... My burger was cooked at the wrong temperature... If you want to excel, be at least consistent... Also, there are flies all over the restaurant, a fine dining establishment needs to fix this issue... If you can't keep the front of the house clean, how bad is the back of the house? I am not going to eat there again if the Chef is not in the kitchen..."

  • "Great view of the coast waterway but disappointed that having had a reservation, one diner was able to enjoy the view while the other had been seated with back against the view. Service was friendly. As far as the food...we ordered the small 'grand amuse' (cold seafood selection) for our appetizer, menu stating it was for 2 but was enough for 4. The crab claws were mealy, the lobster pencil-eraser tough and inedible and the tune tartare was bland. VERY disappointing especially @ $85. We told our server about the issues and she said she would inform the chef but nothing came of it. Steaks were good but VERY expensive and the sides were $12 each, overpriced by any standard. Total check for two $385. Worth it? No. Go elsewhere."

  • "Looking for a great place to celebrate a birthday and willing to spend the money for a great dinner. Disappointed with the food and service. Last ate here in February and wrote off short-comings to it just opening. Unfortunately, in spite of charging top-tier prices, the food was not well prepared and the service was very slow. I understand "island time" but 20 minutes just to get a drink does not serve the customer or restaurant well. I hope the restaurant improves as the setting is great and the island can always use another upscale dinning choice."

  • "This was our first time at Number 13 and I would have to say they are a little different. The steaks were great, everything else was ok but just different. They had some stange stuff on the menu. I would probably go back for the steak but not much else. "

  • "Words cannot describe the fantastic service, and food that we experienced on our visit for dinner last Friday- will definitely be back, and have recommended it to several friends already. The gentleman who took the time to explain the wine selection is a huge plus to your staff and a credit to the establishment."

  • "We had a nice, belated Mother's Day brunch at Number 13. Our waitress, Courtney, was the bomb! Not only is she efficient but she anticipated our needs and was a hoot! We really appreciated that they had a shawl that my daughter-in-law could wear, as she was a bit cold. The food was great, although for brunch it was a bit over priced for what you get. Although it was very tasty and perfectly cooked, I believe that they have their price-point too high. I hear the dinner's and steak are amazing - so we will definitely be going back. As a local, I am excited to have this new selection on the island. (oh, and their bloody mary bar was amazing!)"

  • " I am 62, comfortable & retired. I have also enjoyed Galveston all my life & have been a home owner on the island for the past 40 years. When making a reservation for my anniversary, I asked for a table next to a window so that we might enjoy the evening light on the water. We were seated at a 2 top with my back to the water & when I asked to be moved was told that the window tables were for larger parties. (New York attitude in Galveston Texas.) My wife & I have dined in almost every major country in the world, so we are rarely surprised by menu prices. We were surprised. Had we added a bottle of wine, dinner w/ tip could have easily topped $300,(for 2). Cost was not an issue, it was our anniversary after all. Sadly, we will not be back."

  • "Food and ambiance were impeccable. High-end dinning restaurant an added treasure for the Island. Wide variety to select from seafood, poultry, beef, lamb. Texas onion soup was out standing. Cocktails were perfection. "

  • "I brought my mother back to Number 13 and we had a blast again. We had two servers, Jordan & Michael. We liked them both, we loved the fact that Jordan took the time to elaborate about the fresh fish and menu and Jordan graced us with his presence with his attention to detail and charisma. We missed not having the lemon meringe dessert(it was sold out) but we will definitely be back again!"

  • "While overall I welcome the restaurant being a Galveston resident for many years. The only thing that I am concerned about is the tiny portion of fish... Snapper is cheap and if you are going to charge 36 for a fish plate with about 4-5 oz of fish about 20 peas and a few mushroom most men like myself will leave hungry and not return. I had the snapper and my mother had the salmon , she always has food left over when we eat at Rudy and Paco but never at this place..."

  • "Overall very nice experience and we are hard to please. Wait staff was great! Friendly and provided excellent service. We enjoyed each dish we ordered for brunch - the deconstructed huevos rancheros were uniquely presented and we great. The duck confit entree was perfect. Loved the Bloody Mary bar with the chef's pickles veges. Beautiful setting. Enjoyed our brunch experience and will definitely return."

  • "Located on the Galveston harbor, this restaurant is a true gem! For starters, the Arugula salad was great, the aged Porterhouse with blue cheese sauce was truly Amazing! I savored every single bite, best steak I've ever had! The dinner bread was very unique. The Pinot Noir was perfect! To top it off, the Chocolate molten cake was a dream! Loved the ambiance and Great service, the view, the upstairs lounge, everything! Recommended to friends and family as a must try."

  • "I surprised my wife with reservations to Number 13 for our anniversary, and it could not have gone better! I requested a table with a great view of the water and had flowers delivered to the restaurant. Everything was setup perfectly. After a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary, the service and food were amazing. It was very easy to see why this restaurant was given such awards and compliments by Galveston patrons. I will go back, I will recommend to others, and in fact I already have."

  • "This was a memorable experience. It was our third trip but we usually sit in the bar area only. The restaurant overlooks the water , starting off your visit with a calm demeanor. Our waiter, Michael, was very professional and knowledgable about the wine and food offered on the Brunch menu. The food is always great and you will not be disappointed but the desserts are Divine! Try the Eastern oysters Rockafeller!"

  • "Brought wife with friends to eat for our 42 wedding anniversary, because we have tried to eat here ever since it opened. I was very disappointed the 16 oz New York strip I order medium rare was not a good steak(compared to Rudy and Pacos, papas steakhouse, Perry's or even Saltgrass)the sides were also bad the creamed Spanish was pulsed to baby food consistency with no cream or Parmesan cheese, the au gate potatoes s we're very bland and the wedge salad was very small and didn't even have a good presentation, the service was wasn't nothing special had to ask for bread then butter then refills on tea ,the manager had to come over and ask what our drink order was the server got it wrong, the place is very nice ,need to hire a chef and manager"

  • "My wife and I had brunch at Number 13 on Sunday. The food, the service, and the view were outstanding. It was a new brunch menu with numerous selections. The meal could not have been better. There also was a Bloody Mary bar with all the condiments to create your own that was a lot of fun. It was not very crowded but I suspect as word gets out that may not last long."

  • "Yes, it is pricey, but the food is outstanding. Rudy & Paco's has held the crown for years as the best restaurant in Galveston but I think they have some serious competition with Number 13. I don't know if they will continue to draw crowds with such high prices for steak but in the meantime the mussel appetizer is big enough as an entree if you want a light dinner and they are the best I've had on the island and almost anywhere. The broth is superb. Be sure to ask for a spoon! And the setting is the best in town with the view of the marina. "
