Novo RestaurantThe table was too small forThe table was too small for four people to eat comfortably. We were constantly juggling plates and glasses with the wait staff. They should send someone empty hands, along with the food person, to make room on the table for the next item or get smaller plates and bowls.

The service was impeccable, beginning with their willingness to change our reservation time the night before to the fabulous creek side seating. Loved watching the ducks at play. Savory creeps with asparagus, ham and mushrooms were excellent. Hubby thought salmon cakes Benedict lacked some flavor. Son enjoyed lamb entree. However, I only give it four stars overall because there was no kids' menu for brunch. It sure would have been nice if Novo had done something special for the kids for Mother's Day, since moms will want to have their whole family there. We had a great creekside table and by chance the same server we had the last time. We started with the soup of the day...fantastic. I had the petite filet and my wife had the scallops both were excellent and prepared to perfection. We had a great bottle of local pinot, followed by outstanding dessert. It was enough for a meal, especially since I enjoyed their warm crusty bread basket served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. The food again was delicious, most of it rather spicy and inspired by Indian cuisine (Curries). Only negative aspect were those propane driven patio heaters, which on one side enabled outdoor sitting in the evening, on the other side they remain to be carbon-belching monstrosities. The heaters were great and welcome as I forgot my sweater. Wine list is extensive, very interesting with a great selection of local vintages. Love the half-glass program, which my wife and I used to select our dinner wine.My salmon cakes were nicely flavored accented perfectly by unique tartar sauce & caesar salad. My wife's shrimp was perfectly cooked. Service was friendly, professional, paced as requested. The restaurant was busy, but I saw lots of smiling diners, so they must also have had a good experience, too. We often bring our dog dining on the gorgeous tree lit creek side patio, they bring our menus and a water bowl for our girl--talk about dog friendly! They mean it! We send many guests from our estate lodging to Novo and these are just a few reasons why: great ambience, food and service. This is a farm-to-table gem. Novo obviously pays close attention to that image offering unique food choices including forbidden (black) rice, 3 kinds of curries along side more traditional steak, fish and chicken choices. They also have a robust wine list (a baseline expectation in this area of the country) and thoughtful touches like organic small batch mixers for the cocktails. The meal was good, not the best I've had but the ambiance on their amazing heated patio makes the trip and the expense worthwhile. It is the kind of place where you want to linger over your meal and give in to the temptation of dessert or a port just so you can sit and drink in the atmosphere for just a little longer.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful ambience and good food!We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Novo last weekend - the food was simple, yet memorable - done just right. We had mentioned in our reservation that it was our anniversary so they congratulated us, and gave us a really nice table so that was nice. The service was a bit slow, but attentive and we didn't mind the speed, because it gave us a chance to hang out there longer - the ambiance is lovely and the patio is beautiful! My husband said the Kefta Kabab salad was one of the best things he's eaten in a long time, and I loved my salmon bisque. The portion sizes were just right.
