I was actually surprised how tasty and simple the food was. Really decent Italian meal. The waitstaff was very attentive. My only minor complaint is that this attentiveness at times felt like they were trying to rush us out (there were a number of empty tables and it was a decent time for dinner, not late at all). I hope that wasn't the case! It would have been nice if they took the placement of my cutlery as an indication I wasn't done with my food. Despite this, I would come back. Great place pre/post movie at the next door cinema.

This is our go-to spot after a movie at 5th Ave. theatre. The pizzas are excellent and the service is good. As much as the noise level is rated energetic, it is rather hard to hear each other so would not be inclined to take others there when you want to visit.

Had the prawn and fennel salad for lunch and it has to be one of the best salads I've had in some time - flavorful yet light and the prawns were huge and delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Best pizza in town! The crust is slightly chewy with an amazing smokey flavour from the real brick oven fire. Burrata and pancetta pizza is a must have. Deep fried Calamari / peppers are always crisp and light. Service is always great, whether your are there for a quick meal before a movie or are making a night of it. The stacked caprese salad is not only beautiful to look at, but very flavourful. Great neighbourhood gem!

Our server kindly gave my friend and me a small taste of two wines we were considering. But then he took a while to return for our choice. Food service a bit rushed (given they get many patrons on their way to a movie it's understandable but the server should ask). Beet salad was good as usual (but could use a fresh approach), Sausage pasta dish not as good as I recall. Pumpkin cheesecake delicious!!! I will return but hope they amp up their salad menu.

We once again ordered the golden beet salad, which puts to shame equally expensive beet salads we have had elsewhere. We also enjoyed the Margherita pizza, cheesecake and sample cannolo before making the movie next door just in time.

I finally ate at this restaurant for the first time a few days ago, before a movie at the 5th Avenue. The potato pizza was very good (and recommended by my server). I also at the beat salad, which was also very good. I'd eat here again, especially before or after a movie at the 5th Avenue.

This might be the best pizza I've ever eaten. Our group of four shared two starters BURRATA (arugula, oven-dried tomatoes, house made bread ) and WINTER CAPRESE (fior di latte, oven roasted tomatoes, balsamic pearls, pesto) both were flavourful, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. Later we shared 2 pizzas, one of which is my new favourite, the BURRATA (fior di latte, burrata, smoked pancetta, olive oil, basil, sea salt )

I picked this place as I had driven past it many times before and was planning a movie night. On closer look, I saw they had award-winning creme brûlée, so decision was made! I made resos. I called ahead to ask about gluten-free options but didn't get a call back. We went in though and they had ensured they had gf pasta for me, so that was nice. We sat at the bar and ordered. The bartender was awesome. Very informed. Let us taste wines. We received all our items at the same time which was a little tough cuz it got cold. But food was AMAAAAAAZING. When we ordered creme brûlée they said they were out. I was super disappointed. But in seeing my disappointment, somehow the bartender found one left in the kitchen and we enjoyed it so much!!

We love their beet salad with hazelnuts and goat cheese. It's enough for 2 to share as an appetizer. Their verdura cotto pizza is delicious. Wine is available by the glass, 1/2 litre or bottle. Would like to see a 9 oz. option like Joey's someday. Homemade sangria and white sangria would be perfect with their menu in the summer. Their white chocolate crème brûlée is a delight- the presentation very foodie...

We were quite disappointed with my experience at Novo. We were there on a Tuesday night by 7. Everything we wanted to order were not available as they were "sold out." I could understand having some of your staple menu items sold out with it were 9, even 8 at night. There were not enough servers working. I found it to be ridiculous that we had to keep waving our server down for more drinks and it took 15 minutes to get them. I can't say that I would come back nor would I be surprised if they close in the near future.

My husband and I are self proclaimed pizza addicts and search the globe for that perfect pie. Novo did not disappoint and it's great for us to have another go-to pizza place in the city - especially (such a good) one that's open on a Sunday night late, in a neighborhood we can take a walk in before or after our meal, and can find parking. The service was truly refreshing, and since we sat at the kitchen bar we had an opportunity to watch the chef make our pizzas. She really takes pride in her work, and it shows. Try it. You'll like it... a lot.

It was our first time at this restaurant. The experience was good (good food, adequate service, great little patio seating area) until we presented the opentable cheque when we asked for the bill. Our server immediately gave us the attitude like we are 2nd class citizens and dismissed the cheque saying they don't accept it. We found it strange but didn't argue. Unexpectedly, the waiter came back, asked for the opentable cheque and said they would take it (he was not apologizing).... he made us feel like we begged for something. My husband still gave him a more than adequate tip - I wish he hadn't.

Booked a table for 7 thru for a Friday evening @ 7:30pm. Had to call the restaurant a few hours before to adjust seating to 6. Young lady who answered genuinely appreciated my call. Server (Keely) came by within 2-3 minutes of being seated to drop off menus, fresh sheet and wine list. Tap ice water was also quickly provided. Assigned server was professional & knowledgeable about the menu when asked for suggestions between 2 different salads & pizzas. Food arrived slower than expected but food quality was very good. Pizzas, beet salad and creme brulee were hits. A heavy-set male server dropped off 2 beet salads but when we asked about 2 additional beet salads that we ordered, he seemed confused then tersely dismissed us and walked off.

It was a really hot Vancouver night, so off to Pizza and the movies. So convenient to have them both next door. We've been there recently and had a great beet salad, their DOP Marguerita pizza, which was absolutely best Marguerita pizza I can remember. Perfect. But the cannoli! Fabulous! Made to order, so they don't get soggy, dipped each end in pistachio. Heaven! We sat in our favourite area (by the wine cellar area). It was 5:30 pm (going to a 7:30 movie, so don't like to be hurried when we eat). Looking for our next movie so we can go back for the pizza and cannoli again. Soon!

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out on a Friday The atmosphere was somewhat fancy but not overly pretentious. The waiter was prompt, and informative. We ordered the Proscuitto & Argula and special Margherita pizza (higher quality cheese). I ordered a glass of Prosecco which was decent, however I could have splurged for an appy for the price of the drink! The ingredients were extremely fresh and flavours were nice however the pizza was cold when we received it. We understood that the pizza is only cooked for a short time in the wood-burning oven however we expected some warmth on arrival which is why we took off a star. The pizzas were decently sized and we liked the thin crust. Next time will likely check out the pastas/salads.

Went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and had a nice table on the patio. Every dish had a nice surprising twist that I wasn't expecting (except the pizza, which was excellent anyway and didn't need a "twist" to impress), from the olives and cheese on the charcuterie board to the dessert. Our group decided to share two creme brûlées after our meal, which I have to say, were the most interesting and yummy brûlées I've ever had. They had a little gift at the bottom under the custard layer, some smooth paste with such a delicious flavour and texture we couldn't get enough. It was almost like a soft French kiss. I have been here before and always really enjoy the pizza, but this latest visit really made me very happy.

Our waiter knew the menu well and was able to describe the dishes. Everything was fresh. The flavour combinations for the pizzas were excellent (barrata and proscuitto with arugala). The only disappointment was the caesar salad. It was a bit tasteless. The panzanella salad was wonderful. The hazelnut creme brulee was a perfect way to end a delicious, relaxed meal.

There were only a few other covers while we were dining. The only complaint was the that music was too loud making it hard for some of my colleagues to hear the conversation around the table. Almost all had salads which looked great and the truffle pasta was delicious. Service was done by one person who was a little stretched with our table of 6 and 3 other tables. But she did a good job.

The golden beet salad was good though rather expensive, with the beets playing a prominent role (no "where's the beet" with this one). We also shared the mushroom pizza, zipped up with added chili oil and pepper flakes, and the creme brulee with orange granita. Service was fine, though it took longer than expected to get the dessert and the bill, and we made it to the movie next door just in time.

We went to Novo for a romantic casual date night. The service was excellent and the food was memorable, as usual. We started with an inspired caprese salad with amazing balsamic pearls on top -wow, yummy. The pizza "special" was perfect and delicious. Their wood-fired pizza is the BEST in Vancouver. Then a perfect al denté spaghetti ai olio. The bar tender helped us pick a great Italian red blend. Great meal, great price. We'll be back again soon!
