  • "Over the past year, I've been a fan of Notti Bianche, with its warm ambiance, dependable menu, and generally attentive service. The past few times I've been, however, there was an express lunch prix fixe menu. The first time I tried it (last month), the minestrone was fine and the vegetable panini pleasant, though not as good as the a la carte offerings I'd had earlier. When I took a friend last week, however, I was embarassed to have brought her: I picked 6-8 bay leaves out of the minestrone, which was not very flavorful; my panini arrived with onions despite my asking for them to be held; and the service was indifferent. I'm sorry to see a neighborhood gem go downhill so quickly."

Seafood linguine was terrific and pre-theater fixed price deal is an excellent value. Wine list is small but good, and I had a very good Manhattan. Our third visit-- we'll be back."

  • "I ordered the osso buco with risotto for the second time, hoping that the chef will have heard my suggestion the last time I ordered it about increasing the size of the serving of meat. The meat comes off the bone (not the usual way it is served, with a marrow bone), with only about 5 bites of meat and a great deal of admittedly tasty risotto. ( No veggies. ) It would have been nice to have more of the meat."

  • "The first 3 bottles of wine we ordered were not available. Our server said the wine list was about to change so their stock wasn't at normal levels. IMHO, if you don't have 3 of the 7 or 8 whites listed, you should let that be known up front. Choosing something they had available became literally a laughing matter, but frankly it wasn't that funny. As usual, the food was quire good. Minestrone and mixed green salad were very nice starters. Osso bucco and seafood pasta were both enjoyable. Maybe once the wine list is revamped, dining here won't be such a trying affair."

  • "A group of 6 of us needed a place for a good meal near GWU on a Friday night. When we trusted the reviews on Google and were able to get a reservation 2 hours from when we made it. When we got to the place, it wasn't full, so my expectations dropped. The dropped further when I found that they did not have the Mushroom Risotto that others raved about any longer However, when we were done, we were all extremely pleased with our food. The service was very attentive and the ambiance casual and quiet. We would go back in heartbeat."

  • "Have been there before from time to time and the food has varied. This time the salad was very good, but I didn't like the pasta dish which consisted of a spinach pasta with wild boar and cheese. The wild boar and cheese were very good, but the spinach pasta was not to my liking; i just might not like spinach pasta and did not know it before. the lava cake was tough and had very little lava. My friends spaghetti was not very good; nor was her fruit compote dessert. Based on this past experience, I would not return."

  • "Osso Bucco is one of my favorite meals, but not at this restaurant. I think they used a cheap beef roast, cooked it to death and passed it off as a veal shank. It was mushy and totally inedible. Worst of all, it was expensive. The service was almost nonexistent. We will never go back."

  • "This restaurant is about 5 or 6 blocks of the Kennedy Center and usually a good choice for dinner. I have eaten there many times including several of the previous (now gone) establishments. The food is usually very good and well prepared. This time my companion and I have the pre-theater offering (3 courses). The selections with one exception where excellent and well prepared and plated. The only exception with the one of the dessert selection that was topped with excellent gelato; however the brownie-like component was pedestrian and not up to the high standards of the rest of the meal. In spite of this one issue, the overall quality of the meal and service was excellent. I will dine there again, but park my car someplace else."

  • "I was a bit underwhelmed. I know it was Valentine’s Day and I had a late seating, but I was surprised by the number of things on the menu they were out of. It seemed to me that if one was doing a limited menu they shouldn’t be out of over a third of the menu. And on one course, only part of the item was served because they were out of some ingredients. They may be a great restaurant, but they sure weren’t on Friday."

However, we made the mistake of going on Valentine's Day, when they had a fixed price menu that was limited in choice, very expensive, and of indifferent quality. The bronzino, in particular, was not particularly fresh."

Branzino on rapini were O.K., nothing special Service was fine & ambience very nice, but the food overall was nothing I'd rush to have a 2nd time."

  • "We stayed at the GWU Inn and had a nice dinner here before the 8pm show at the Kennedy Center. The food was good, tasty and the convenience to the KC was great, a quick walk and you are right there. The service was very good. We got there before the crowd started (5:45) so got great service initially. But as it filled up our waitress was very busy and so was not as easy to get her attention, but she did very well considering how many tables she had to serve. Everyone that worked there was very professional and helpful. We also stopped by the bar after the show right before they were closing and the bartender let us take our drinks to the room, which was fine by us, so we could take our shoes off and relax."

I was a little disappointed because they were out of ingredients for one of the new cocktails on the menu that the waiter mentioned was really good, especially since we came right when they opened, so not sure how they were already out but didn't know to tell us at the beginning of the meal? Either way, the deliciousness of the rest of the food we had easily allowed me to forget that one small hiccup."

  • "We went to Notti before a show at the Kennedy Center. It is a short walk, and nestled nicely in the neighborhood street. The restaurant itself has a great cozy atmosphere, and the food and wine were delicious. I got gnocchi, my husband got wild boar ragout, and we shared the octopus appetizer. It was more than enough food, especially with the very tasty free bread basket. The service was a little slow, but it was very busy, and we might not have noticed if we didn't have a deadline. All in all, a lovely experience."

  • "Two of us had a very nice dinner, the third had a disaster. Steak and scallops were both excellent but the third person had (a) the clams - WAY too salty, (b) the spaghetti, seriously boring and poorly prepared (all of us agreed), and (c) a full glass of red wine poured all over her. Drenched shawl and pants not a great way to go back out into the cold! The waiter was new, very sweet and apologetic but not competent. It was not at all busy but there were LONG waits for drinks & refills. When the wine crashed all over the place, someone came out to help clean the broken glass and the waiter apologized like mad but no one else said a thing. Where the heck was the manager? A new waiter should be backed up, and the kitchen needs oversight too."

  • "I love Notti Bianche. We routinely come prior to dinner at the Kennedy and the food is consistently excellent. The service was superb. However, the table tops are looking a bit too worn. They either need refinishing, table cloths or a new table top all together. They detract from the ambience of the place. I know it is supposed to be rustic - but rustic has gone a bit far."

  • "Diner reviews were good, the place was quiet so we could hear each other (a plus!) and the waiter was sweet. But the food was mediocre. Both dishes came with a topping of frozen vegetables which, at the price, was unacceptable. The sauce seemed to be the same for the gnocchi and the so-called tortellini - brown and slightly oily. The tortellini were not tortellini but some kind of large flat pasta rolled over and filled with what seemed like canned pumpkin puree. If you want to spend this kind of money, go somewhere else in Georgetown. The restaurant is inside a hotel so feels a bit functional. But at least it was quiet (and close to empty on a Sunday night.) We chose it because it was walking distance from the Kennedy Center."

  • "Went with my teen daughter for a theater night. Valet park, pre-theater pre-fixe, walk to Kennedy Center and then back after the play. The staff was wonderful and the service excellent all around. The pre-fixe menu consists of certain selections off the menu. Neither of us opted for the pre-fixe since we wanted other dishes not on that list. Seafood linguine and pumpkin ravioli (guess who had which) were excellent. Dessert was also very good with the tiramisu ad chocolate cake. Ambiance was very nice so I have to take my significant other back next time."
