  • Great Night At Nota Bene
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 11/22/2014
We were 4 women catching up - and Nota Bena was the perfect spot. They sat us at a round table, which was great for conversation. The staff were nice, helpful and gave us loads of time to decide and chat. The meal was delish - we almost all had the scallops and they are perfect. We left happy, full and (clearly) in love with this resto.

  • Ideal Pre Concert Spot
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 11/21/2014
We mentioned that we had a time limit due to a concert we wanted to attend so we were pleased that the service was speedy but not rushed. We had the Ceviche as a starter which was smooth and flavourful with just the right amount of acid. The Venison was cooked to perfection and sitting on a bed of root vegetable and cabbage with the most beautiful intense flavours that made it a meal to remember. My friend was very happy with the rabbit she chose. The restaurant is tastefully decorated but a touch too big and impersonal if you are looking for a romantic evening. But I would definitely go back to try out more dishes.

For starters the restaurant has a great elegance to it, its beautiful and inviting. We had a great experience our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the different wines. When the food came out we could hardly contain ourselves from licking the plate clean! (we had to remind our selves were in a nice restaurant). I ordered the tenderloin and at first I was upset that it was not accompanied by a steak knife, I soon found out a butter knife was all you needed. It was that tender. Overall I had a great experience and I will definitely be back for more!

Wonderful prix fixe for pre- theatre goers. The mozzarella with mushrooms on toast was unusual and wonderful. The sea bass was well set off by the amazing onion rings and the desert of a Milton chocolate cake with caramel ice cream was delicious. Consistently fi r food is served here. We will return

My daughter and I dined at Nota Bene before the ballett. The feel is sophisticated and restrained. The service was excellent, quick and efficient (he knew we had to be at a performance in 90 minutes), and gracious. However, the food did not meet expectations. The scallop dish was over salted, and over priced given the minimalist serving,. The ravioli was good but underwhelming given the price. No wonder the gracious waiter suggested we order a side. This was not the first time I have dined here. Earlier meals were much more satisfying.

Nota Bene. Translation: note well, or noteworthy. The name seems a tad conceited, maybe over confident. Not surprisingly, the place exudes a high end chic ambiance. Very slick. Fortunately, the food was good and the service gracious. So we forgot about the name and corporate look of the place....and enjoyed ourselves.

This is the place I took my fiance for our first date, and for most of our special occasions since then. Their wine list is extensive and their duck salad is amazing. We've tried a number of their main courses and so far everything has been good enough to impress us and we hang out with foodies, so I think out taste is fairly developed. We've never had anything less than exceptional service, the staff is friendly, enthusiastic and professional. Highly recommended.

Nota Bene is a three minute walk from the Four Seasons Centre. They feature a pre-theatre menu and are very aware of patrons time constraints. They have a wonderful selection of Ontario wines that match their food perfectly. Don't be tempted to have a second bottle of wine or the opera may pass very quickly.

The food and service were amazing. It was a very busy place, although the noise level was still very reasonable for a pleasant conversation. Although there were many tables, they weren't too close so you felt someone was invading your space. We were there prior to the theatre. We didn't have the pre-theatre menu options but it was available. I would absolutely go there again.

Opera season is back and we are thrilled to be able to dine at Nota Bene again. This wonderful restaurant, so convenient to the 4 Seasons Centre is a treat. Our table is always ready, the menu is varied and creative and the service is swift and intelligent. We have shared many wonderful meals after a performance, or for a special occasion and have never been disappointed. Love the large dining area, it has a dynamic energy and we do not hesitate to recommend this heartily. Everything on the menu is beautifully presented and we are always happy to see new dishes as well as old favourites. They have the best fries in the city.

Our visit was post-opera, just before the kitchen closed. Service was warm and friendly. The first course came out so quickly it had to have been prepared in advanced and re-heated. I don't know how to describe such plates. You just know. It was all very good, and somewhat expensive, but I think we'll seek out other experiences before coming back here.

I had heard from a number of people how good the restaurant was so after attending the COC opening earlier in the evening, I was glad to be going to see for myself. We arrived 45 minutes early for our dinner and it was not a problem to seat us, the greeters at the front were charming and welcoming, our waiter Jeff deserves special mention, from start to finish he was amazing. He made suggestions that were all terrific and more importantly delicious!!!! the meal was very memorable, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself as did my dinner partner. We both agreed it was a lovely dinning experience and we would definitely go again, and tell people about our experience. Your staff and chef should all be recognized and commended.

Had the smallest piece of salmon ever! Not only did they serve us the tail, it was tiny and thin, maybe a 3oz portion. I understand that is the way the sockeye salmon usually is( thin), but it was stingy- and for $33!!!! It was delicious but we were very disappointed at the size of the fish!! The service was REALLY rushed to the point where we purposely waited to order our dessert. They wanted us out of there badly!! We won't return.
