Not Your Average Joe's MethuenGreat Birthday dinner experience!We were a group of 7 celebrating my birthday. Really love that we were able to make a reservation ahead of time, and the table was ready right when we arrived. The server was friendly and attentive- she made sure I got my birthday dessert and took a photo of the whole table. Although the restaurant was crowded, food came quickly and exactly as everyone ordered (we have some dietary restrictions in our group). The drinks were refilled before we even had to ask. Our reservation was honored on time, our waitress described menu items and made great suggestions based on our dietary restrictions. Food was flavorful, unique and abundant. Leftovers are always a plus. Dessert was the perfect culmination of an already amazing meal. His kids pizza was delicious and not just some random microwave pizza most places would have on a kids menu.
My salad with salmon was amazing. Healthy and delicious. It was delicious but a piece of the wood from the skewer was left in the meal - no big deal that happens. She told the waitress only as a heads up for the cook to watch out for and the waitress and manage comped her meal even though we said that was not what we were looking for. That is the kind of service you do not see - we are regulars at Joes and will continue to be regulars

On this occasion my friend didn't like her entree so they took it away and she ordered something else off the menu at no charge. The best thing about Joe's is their customer service. It is friendly, active and situated near the theater. Great for any time of day or evening dining. Love the pasta selections, but my favorite is the butternut squash ravioli, while my husband loves the herb-crusted haddock. Wine selection is wonderful and the desserts are to die for!!
The restaurant serves families as well as singles and couples, though I did see a group of teachers there on my last visit having a grand old time reminiscing at a high table near the bar. They have such a generous birthday club & we find it is now our go to restaurant, even when it isn't anyone's birthday. It was my husband's birthday, and he got his usual - meatloaf. It's his all time favorite (I'm not jealous - I didn't have to cook)! I like to try something different all the time, so I went for the leaning tower of chicken parmesan from the World Taste Tour menu (offered until 3/31). It comes with spaghetti squash, which made it a winning combination. I think it is only around until March 31, but I hope it will be brought back! And then my husband had to get his birthday dessert - the peanut butter thing -2 spoons of course! Our waiter was very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. I joined the email club and received a free birthday dinner and dessert of my choice. Highly recommend this gem.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, NYA Joe's servesAs usual, NYA Joe's serves up good food, creatively prepared. We are never disappointed when we dine there. The fresh bread and dipping oil are scrumptious so we have to remind ourselves not to overdo it with the bread. The monthly specials are interesting and flavorful, but the old stand-bys on the regular menu make it difficult to choose. Some of our favorites: Vietnamese Salmon, Schnitzel (March monthly special), sirloin tips, chicken potstickers, molten chocolate cake, passionfruit sorbet, creme brulee cheesecake and the March special tiramisu.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
