Not Your Average Joe's LansdowneBelated Birthday DinnerI went here for a belated birthday dinner with my husband and to use the birthday coupon i received from Joe's. The coupon was very generous - free entree and dessert. Our server was great (can't recall her name unfortunately) she was attentive and funny and even brought a candle in my sorbet for my birthday.
The food was great (i like to get the create your own pizza) and i had a great time.

His attitude was bad when asking for our drink order. We asked for water with lemon; did not get the lemon. We were very worried that he was going to be our waiter when Libby came by and introduced herself. It is very difficult pleasing 12 middle schoolers and we tend to be hard to put up with but Joes treated us like young adults which I really appreciated instead of being treated like a kid. The food was very good and there was no problems. Our waiter Caleb P was very friendly and asked about the food and met our needs. Not to mention the numerous refills(: thank you so so much! We went to joes because our best friends were moving to CA and this was the last time we saw them and I was glad it was at Joes. A few of the children's menu selections were more than we would usually spend, but the choices (salmon or sirloin) definitely appeased our kids, who at 11 and 12 usually fight to order something other than chicken fingers or mac and cheese. They offer interesting, but not outlandish takes on food and provide new ways to experience old favorites. We did have to wait a bit for our table as earlier reservations arrived late and caused a domino effect, but the manager was very apologetic and service was prompt once seated. Sirloin Tips were delicious, as were the salads, Turkey BLT sandwich, and Goat Cheese Flat Bread (a special for the day). The calamari was a bit tasteless, but that was the only downfall of all the food. Although they were absolutely swamped, our wait staff pampered us and took such good care of everyone at our table! This place hit all of the right notes. The staff was friendly and enjoyed the kids (2 and under 1). They weren't a distraction or a nuisance, but the reason that they have a restaurant like this. The food was well prepared, warm and tasty. While the two year old really just wanted chocolate milk and butter, he was very happy when his own little pizza showed up, freshly made with nice quality ingredients. He happened upon the Joe's in Kentlands, Gaithersburg, MD by accident. He told me it was very good and that there was one in Leesburg. Since I live not too far from Leesburg, we grabbed a couple neighbors and tried it out. We were not dissappointed. Starting with the bread and dipping oil, entrees, and finally dessert (white chocolate cherry bread pudding), it was awesome. We met for book club and enjoyed ourselves. Our server was fun and attentive- but not too pushy. Being in the restaurant industry I know the game..but he got me to purchase a gift card and use it that evening to get my bounce back..which makes no sense for the restaurant itself..the point of selling gift cards during the holidays is to get the guest to come back..not just to sell and use on the same day :).
