Not Your Average Joe's DartmouthLove NYAJI cannot say enough about NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOES'. They have the best food, service and ambience. I just love it and always go on special occasions. I recommend it all the time to visitors and locals.
I recently sent an email to a friend who use to live in Norfolk, Va. and now lives in Hilton Head S.C. I sent her the list of where the restaurants are located, mentioned when they go back to Va. she and her husband should try the restaurants there and to be looking for an NYAJ in Hilton Head as I am sure there will be one there someday soon.. :0)

She was attentive but not obnoxious. Joe's bread is outstanding and our meals were fantastic. Service was great and the waitress was very accomodating to our small children and to special requests. Everyone enjoyed it. The food was very tasty, especially the hamburgers and veggie burger. The bread and dipping oil was too good as usual. Started with a nice ceasar salad and the honey enjoyed his onion straws. Serice was outstanding. Water glass kept full. The waittress even brought over a new ided tea because she notice my husband's ice had melted.

Though we live a short distance away, the traffic was very heavy because of the time people get out of work PLUS some kind of accident up the road which caused a massive backup of cars in front of us, We arrived at 5:50 PM. We had to wait about 15 minutes or so for a table. After that things went smoothly. No one's fault, really. The service is really outstanding -- our waiter was incredibly accommodating and very nice. We were a group of five including two folks with disabilities -- again the waiter really was attentive, treated everyone with dignity and made sure everyone was satisfied.

Finally, the manager. It's great to see Douglas back in Dartmouth. It's a more vibrant atmosphere with him in that location.

We were a party of 5, but two of us came together and the other 3 were stuck in some traffic post New Bedford Half Marathon. We were still seated right away and our server was very patient, checking on the two of us a few times before our other guests arrived. Great service, great food, and good prices. I'm not from the area, but the space seems a bit small for the business they likely do. The noise level did get a little high, but nothing too ominous. I had the filet with risotto - delicious. and loved the Jack and Ginger cocktail - warming on a winter night!
The waitress was fabulous! We were there at the same time as a big group so it was noisy and crowded, but our service didn't suffer a bit!
