Not Your Average Joe's BurlingtonMother's Day dinnerWe had a lovey dinner at NTAJ on Mother's Day. We had reservations - only waited about 3 minutes to be seated. Service great. Everyone had something different and loved it. Manager came by to greet us. Prices reasonable for quality. We loved it and will be back often.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Start to the EveningAll was perfect for an early dinner

Seating location - Booth 52 Least desirable5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGluten FreeNYAJ has a great separate gluten-free menu which was offered to us along with gluten-free rolls for one of the people in our party. Our server Kevin was very courteous and attentive, and when one of our dishes came with the wrong side, we waited mere minutes for it to be corrected. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and smiling. I had only been to the Joe's in Arlington before this, but I will definitely be visiting the Burlington location from now on!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great ChoiceThe new May menu specials are terrific -- fresh food and just the right size. NYAJ is our go-to place when we want a good meal. Be sure to try the White Chocolate Cherry Bread pudding!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat placeThis was our first time at this restaurant for an early mother's day meal. The food and service were excellent. The scallops are amazing as was the strawberry shortcake- they make the biscuits fresh there - and it was definitely big enough for sharing. Husband liked the cajun jambalaya with chicken, shrimp and linguica and mom liked her sirloin tips. Definitely will go again!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFIrst time at this branch of NYAJ'sWe've been to the Arlington location lots; first time at Burlington. Excellent service, no problem substituting sides, and they split an entree and a salad for us. Cod dinner was excellent, cooked perfectly. Nice roast vegetables and green beans as sides. Waldorf salad not exciting, a bit gummy dressing and apples not visible. Overall very good.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMdependable and funLarge, interesting menu. Very good service. Manager often comes to tables to ask if we are happy with food and service. Have tried many items on menu and most are good to very good. Reservations really help at busy times.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great meal at Not Your AveWe were seated promptly when we arrived. My wife and I shared a bottle of William Hill Chardonney. I had the Mona Lisa Chicken Salad, which I have had several times before and it was good as usual. My wife had a house side salad with grilled chicken added, as she wasn't as hungry as I was. Our server was Amy L, whom we have had before, and she was excellent. Managers Erin, Seth and Brian stopped by the table to make everything was all right, which Amy had already seen to. For dessert we shared a Strawberry Shortcake. NYAJ has by far the best strawberry shortcake biscuit; firm and crunchy, like a bakery store muffin. Looking forward to coming again.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI can't say enough good thingsI can't say enough good things about the place. I've dined here probably 30 times over the last 5 years or so and a fantastic experience every time. One really positive aspect is that they will alter the various dishes to accommodate people with food allergies.
Note that, as with most great restaurants, they get busy at peak times and making reservations will help you avoid any wait.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways had good food and serviceAlways had good food and service here. It is not a favorite place to gather with my friends.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe totally enjoyed our dinner! We totally enjoyed our dinner! The food was delicious.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWas a good place to celebrateWas a good place to celebrate son's birthday. Am also pleased you have gluten free menu for people like my wife. You need to emphasize the availability of the menu in your advertising and even your revues. My kids have been here several times and have yet to have a bad experience. There was only one minor problem to which I partially attribute the over sensitivity of my granddaughter. She says she founs a couple of hairs in her onion soup. Even if there weren't any the waitress quickly replaced the soup for my granddaughter. I still doubt there really was a problem.
Thanks for the good time4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNYAJ is a favorite of mineNYAJ is a favorite of mine and my dinner didn't disappoint4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely a Place to DineI love Not Your Average Joe's and was first introduced to it in Methuen at the Loop. My friends and I always chose to go there for dinner before attending a movie. I have recently discovered your restaurant in Burlington, and think I like it even better. The service and the food are outstanding.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Not Your Average Joe'sThe Not Your Average Joe's in Burlington is a bright, cheerful place to eat. The shrimp fettuccine with goat cheese pesto was incredible, tasty and beautiful. The goat cheese made the pesto creamy so it stuck to the pasta and sugar snap peas, roasted corn and red grape tomatoes gave it color and snap. The server was friendly and efficient, and didn't rush us. There was a good selection of wines available, as well as some unusual desserts such as S'Mores Creme Brulee. Delicious!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable and Popular eatery,Enjoyable and Popular eatery, Reservations recommended :) Nice mix of food, drinks and desserts.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMvisited the Burlington locationvisited the Burlington location on Saturday evening. Service was outstanding. Sat at bar. Bartender was Liz. Very very personable, friendly and attentive. Food was very
good. Will return soon.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always love NYAJ's, butWe always love NYAJ's, but this Burlington location is one of the best. We often meet here for family gatherings, and we are always treated fabulously by one of the best waitstaffs that has ever served me. Every waiter or waitress we've had has been exceptional -- personable, attentitive without hovering, and always willing to go above and beyond. The food is always good -- haven't had a single dish here that I didn't enjoy. If you don't know NYAJ's give it a try. Not a fancy place, but lots of excellent elements make it a special restaurant.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe 7 of us (2 children) hadThe 7 of us (2 children) had a great time. The staff went out of the way to help meet my gluten free needs and when there was a problem with the pizza, they brought out an order of French fries to help tide us over. The food was tasty and in appropriate quantity.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good service.Great food, good service. Seating was a lttle uncomfottable and crowded. In s booth with table right up against chest which makes it hard to enjoy4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe paella was more like cioppinoThe paella was more like cioppino (in a tomato-based broth), but it was still quite good.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe wait staff are amazing. The wait staff are amazing. They know their menu well. They must try every item because they can always tell you their favorites, and the best thing about each. I asked about an item that was not on their lunch menu, and was told "no problem. We can make that for you." We also thought the food was even better than other NYAJ's we have visited.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOpen table reservation workedOpen table reservation worked out great! We had lunch - food and service was very good, Couldn't comment on outdoor dining - still too chilly. No comment on evening atmosphere - it was lunchtime! Enjoyed specials from the menu,
Thanks to Amy4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waitress was awesome. Our waitress was awesome. (don't remember her name). Great food, service, etc.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great meal at Joe'sMy wife and I were promptly greeted and seated. Our server was Arianna, whom we've had before and she was excellent. We shared a bottle of Kendall-Jackson Chardonney which was priced at $20 during the month-long 20 for 20 promotion. (20 selected brands of wine for $20; they are usually $5 to $10 more). I ordered the Chicken Mona Lisa Salad with Strawberries and my wife had a garden salad with grilled chicken - both were nice and fresh. We shared a passion fruit sorbet for dessert. Our visit was made extra-special by visits from managers Erin and Seth, who made sure that everything was perfect.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOur recent visit to NYAJ reinforcedOur recent visit to NYAJ reinforced previous impressions of these restaurants (Burlington/Arlington): they are a wonderful value--providing good-very good food and excellent service at remarkably reasonable prices. With their eclectic menus, they also work very well for groups whose members have a variety of tastes in food. The restaurant was busy the night we were there, but service was attentive and we never came close to feeling pushed to eat our meal and leave. This is not fancy dining (though many fancier restaurants have not matched the service we have received in our NYAJ visits), but for a relaxed and dependably good night out, these restaurants are hard to beat.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food. Waitress, LizAwesome food.
Waitress, Liz was great. Super friendly, helpful and very knowledgable.
It was wine sample night, so that was a treat.
An, OMG, they really treat you special on your birthday. It is the place to go and celebrate a special day!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLast year I had to go Gluten-freeLast year I had to go Gluten-free and they had a good menu for this kind of diet. I had not been in for a little while and was happy to find a large, varied menu. Our waiter was very helpful with everything from start to finish. I can't wait to go back.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal - as always! We had a wonderful Easter dinner with our two 6 1/2 year old twins. Our server Jay, was exceptional. He thought of everything before I even asked for it! The food was great, as always!! We had such a relaxing meal and enjoyed our evening out.
Thanks for making our night out so enjoyable.
K. Wagner3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBest place in Burlington areaThis is my favorite place in all Burlington, MA and surrounding towns. Decent prices, very professional service, and amazing food. Their appetizers, entrees, and desserts are all unique and mouth watering. I often find myself saying, "Holy cow! I forgot food could taste like this!"3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMService was great. My parents and my immediate family have frequented NYAG a number of times, more often for special occasions. Due to it's lively atmosphere I wasn't sure how my patents would enjoy it this time. My Dad of 92 really enjoyed this visit and the meal.
I made reservations for 5:15PM. We arrived at about 5:10PM and sat down promptly just after our expected reservation, all in about a 5 minute wait.
The waiter, Kevin L., did a great job, very attentive, and very pleasing. He had a great attitude and our party of 5 had a great experience.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were seated promptly. Had key lime pie for dessert and realized it's just too sweet for me. NYAJoe's sends an email to come in for a free entrée and dessert and I was taking advantage of this for the 4th year in a row. It is such a generous offer and a highlight of my birthday month.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time, food,We had a great time, food, waiter was outstanding!!! The food was fresh and tasty and the service was great. Nothing to complain about with our dining experience. The bread and oil and cheese dip that was provided was great. Not merely because I had a coupon from them to celebrate, but because they have my absolute favorite entree. And incredible dessert. And full bar.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall it was a great experience.Overall it was a great experience. The food and service were excellent. However, the reason we went to Not Your Average Joes on this particular night was that we received an email about a Pisco Punch promotion and the promise of free passed appetizers. There were no free passed appetizers and no one came around with the Pisco Punch until we inquired about it. When the Pisco Punch salesperson came to our table, he was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the presentation as well as the drink but were disappointed that the email promise didn't live up to the expectations we had.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
