  • "As suburban restos go, this place is a good find (that is- if you can find it)."

  • "Very authentic Greek cuisine with delicious appetizers, as well as main courses. The deserts are creative, as well as traditional."

  • "We dined at Nostos at Tysons Corner with friends we've known for 30 years. We arrived at 7:15 pm for our reservation and left past 11:00 pm and the food was scrumptous, the waiter was superb and the other staff were spot on, non-intrusive, but always "there" when a wine or water needed replenished. We highly recommend Nostos for an evening out...."

  • "Our meal here was memorable. The food was fantastically good, not something you can say very often. Our group of four had both small plates and main courses, with a shared mezzo appetizer that was outstanding--dips that were lush and fragrant with spice. The small plates are an excellent option, allowing you to try several things to share. The main courses looked delicious and reports were that they were just that. Service was great--attentive but not hovering, never lacking anything. Only downside is the noise level, which made conversation a bit difficult. Food so good I can't wait to go back!"

  • "We had an awesome lunch with our 13 year old grand daughter. She decided on a traditional Greek stew. We had the fish. Both meals were done to perfection. We enjoyed the food, the outstanding service, and the apple cake."

  • "service is lovely noise level is impossible to deal with, they really need to do something about the acoustics. we have been there twice in two different rooms, on a weekend and a weeknight. not inclined to return because of the noise level-a shame, because everything else is just about perfect!"

  • "I took clients for dinner after I had already visited Nostos previously for lunch and the place lived up to my expectations - particularly since the place was fully booked on Sat night. The service was superb; the appetizers superb (grilled octopus rules) and while I did not partake in the entrée my guests loved theirs. If you did not know the location of Nostos - you need to! Tucked off Gallows Rd in Tysons Corner area in a business block - it is worth a visit - often!"

  • "We feel like we are in Greece when we dine at Nostos. The Greek cuisine is well-prepared and lovingly served. Every dish we have tried is great."

  • "We've been to Nostos several times & love the food. The service is usually outstanding, but this time we were very rushed. Entrees were delivered before we finished appetizers. Plates were removed while we were still chewing. [waiters: it is RUDE to take plates before everyone is finished] As for the acoustics, they've made some effort to tone down the noise, but it's still very difficult to hold a conversation. Nostos could be a perfect restaurant if they'd smooth out these issues."

  • "We went in for lunch of salads in June and really enjoyed the experience! The Village Salad and Seafood salads were delicious and fresh as could be. Service was excellent and what a nice dining room. A real treat in a Steak House town! Yesterday we were back for dinner and it was awesome. The branzino was the best in Washington at half the cost of DC's hot seafood spots. This is just really great authentic, delicious greek food served by a fantastic team in a beautiful setting. It was just so nice with such a good vibe."

  • "I have read several high reviews of the restaurant and the quality food. Unfortunately this was a great disappointment for me and my guest on two occasions----dinner and lunch. The signage is poor and difficult to find the entrance. Not worth a third visit"

  • "The main reason I don't like dining at this fine restaurant is that the parking is terrible. The 2nd reason is the noise level within the restaurant makes it difficult to carry on a conversation. However, I do return because the food is very good! Usually the service is better than it was during this recent visit. I'm seriously contemplating trying my next meal as a carryout order & see if it holds up when i get home."

  • "Took 4 co-workers to lunch, expecting the food and service to be similar to the excellent dinner experience I've had several times. Couldn't have been more different. Waiter slow to notice we were there, took our order for several dips with pita along with our main course. The dips never arrived, and they only realized this when they brought out the mains. Manager never came over to apologize, and the only "make good" was a small piece of watermelon for each person. Food was nothing special at lunch, either. Not recommended!"

  • "Nostros takes the wonderful flavors of Greece and modernizes them into very tasty dishes. I just returned from a trip to Greece and was so happy to be introduced to Nostros. The wine list of Greek wines has some of the best."

  • "Nostos is very attractive with outstanding food, attentive service, and a very nice ambiance. I am particularly fond of their lamb shank, served over orzo. The fish dishes are also amazing."

  • "This is a real find, tucked away a mere block from Tysons Corner Mall. Service - from Elias - was the stuff of which dreams are made. The small plates - mezdes - are sublime. Whipped fish roe and fava bean dip appetizers are excellent and the flamed cheese is a sight to behold as well as tasty. Sliced leg of lamb is meltingly tender and the chops have that delicate taste that oinly comes from olive oil and lemon. Downsides are the noise level, which is a bit high - it is a place filled with the sound of friends and families eating, drinking, and greeting - and a little too much emphasis on the salt shaker in cooking. Small issues, though--I cannot wait to go back!"

  • "Dining at Nostos makes us feel as though we are dining in Greece. All the foods are delicious and the service is very warm and welcoming."

  • "The resturant is clean and the food is great. It is nicely decorated and fresh. The food is authentic Greek."

  • "The meatballs are my favorite! We were able to get seated earlier than our reservation which is always nice. The dining area is well lit and we had a very enjoyable meal. My only complaint would be that the beef kabobs have less salt on them."

  • "Outstanding Greek cuisine. Clean, modern decor. The price of mezzes can add up quickly but the food is so good it's hard not to splurge. Recommend 3 dips with pita to begin: Taramosalata, Fava Santorninis and Tzatziki. Lamb chops are delicious and cooked to perfection. Grilled calamari definitely has that char grilled flavor, which I like but some might find a bit too strong. I could eat 3 orders of the Feta Saganaki covered in honey and sesame seed, but if you want a real show then it's hard to beat the standard Saganaki dish flambéed table side for pure theater. For dessert, indulge with a sweet Vinsanto wine or Mastiha liqueur. Rizogalo rice pudding was perfect as was Baklava. Hostess was a little brusque, otherwise service was great."

  • "Exceptional food and service. The special fish soup was excellent and the lamb dishes always surpass expectations. They also make great martinis! Service could not have been more efficient and professional. Only disappointment was removal of the "sampler" from the menu -- that was always an excellent option."

  • "We loved our meal and our service by Evan. We had a great birthday celebration for our friend!"

  • "First, I must say that I would definitely return to this Greek restaurant and dine there again. The food is excellent. The flaming cheese dish is delicious. My wife and I had both the Taramosalada and the Saganaki (flaming cheese) for appetizers, and we shared the Kreatomezes (meat sampler). It was all very, very tasty. I loved the grilled lamb chops the best, but I do have a soft spot for lamb chops. We also had the Kantaifi (an interesting type of Baklava) for dessert. We loved it. It made for quite an enjoyable evening. It is also a very busy restaurant. We went there on a Wednesday night and, if we didn't have reservations, we may have had to wait a bit for a table."

  • "The food at Nostos is amazing - don't miss the Octopus or the Taramasalata! Everything that we have had at this gem of Mediterranean modern design in the middle of the Tyson's Corner madness has been fantastic. Go soon and order a lot of food because you won't be disappointed."

  • "My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 37th Wedding Anniversary so we decided to try Nostos. We were greeted in a warm and fantastic way. The owner arrived to greet us and it turned out to be the owner of other fabulous place, Mykonos. Our starters: the Octopus*….. best we’ve ever had here in the area and anywhere in the world! Next, Garides Saganaki* ……sautéed shrimp in a sauce with feta cheese, tomatoes, pine nuts and raisins, just delicious!! Our entrees: Arni Youvetsi* braised lamb shank served over orzo and Arnaki Fournou* slow roasted leg of lamb served with brown baby potatoes and vegetables. Both were delicious. We were served a complimentary watermelon platter (καρπούζι) as is done in Crete!! We'll be back!! Thank you"

  • "Third time I've eaten at Nostos. Food and ambience is excellent. However, noise level is LOUD and during the lunch hour, service very slow. So great food, but if you are in a hurry, not the best place to go."

  • "I had a lovely lunch with my wife. We shared mezze and found all of them to be very tasty. The restaurant is very attractive, a very cool feeling with lots of white. The service was very attentive and the food is well done."

  • "I had dinner here with a group of friends earlier this week and we were all blown away by the food, service and ambiance. Our waiter phenomenal and the staff is super friendly. They made us feel special and it truly is a hidden gem. I am already looking forward to my next dining experience at Nostos!"

  • "We took friends there on a Monday evening thinking it may not be too busy, but it was again very engaging with a full house. I've been several times but our friends had not. They LOVED it all. And our meal (whole fish Bronzino) outstanding. And the vegetables and appetizers also outstanding. We were seated in the back room, but I do prefer the front main room however. Either room is till a bit loud but still love it. The owner is just wonderful in every as are the wait staff. Our waiter recommended a terrific red wine."

  • "Much enjoyed the branzino. This chef understands that a great ingredient does not need 12 sides and spices. Olive oil, salt, lemon and pepper is all it takes to make a great fish. And there is nothing like having the entire fish on your plate...."

  • "Had a great lunch of mezzo. Octopus was really great and a generous portion. Everyone enjoyed it."

  • "Love the food, service, and menu but the noise level is still a problem. When the price point is this high, I should be able to hear all the people at my 4 person table. Thought the renovation was supposed to fix this....didnt😕"

  • "Nostos has a terrific menu with lots of different dishes to try. We had a couple of the small plates and shared a serving of moussaka--everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back."

  • "Six of us went for lunch and enjoyed the food and the service. It is a very pretty restaurant and I am looking forward to going back for dinner with my husband. I had a glass of retsina and it was delicious. Also had garides saganaki, nice but not the best I've ever eaten. Others enjoyed salads, chicken, and lamb burgers. They were very nice about giving us separate checks."

  • "Very good food with a wide variety of dishes in small, medium and normal portions so that putting together a tasty varied meal is easy. Excellent low-key but elegant environment with service to match. Will return to sample a wide variety of fare."

  • "My colleague and I sampled three of the five or so dips. Two were excellent; one was watery. We also sampled three cheeses, one of which was fabulous; the other two were fine. We sampled three meats: a meatball, a lamb chop, and a chicken kabob. The lamb was probably the best I've ever eaten."
