The Pre-Fixe dinner was 4 courses of deliciousness. Getting a table reservation was quick and easy. An urban oasis that even my friend (a life-long local) didn't know about. We all had the halibut entree which was one of the evening's specials. It was perfectly cooked and attractively presented. The salads we had as appetizers were also delicious and very generous, of sufficient size to be split. A minor complaint is the price for wine - it would be helpful to have more choices under $40. Also it is quite noisy even with an early evening reservation - not a place to go when you want to have a relaxing conversation with friends. One was a professional group on a progressive dinner theme and the second at a sidewalk table. This occasion was with gourmet friends who have dined there before as well. It was perfect for a small group who visited before the dinner crunch. I'm tiring of pretentious chefs around town, with pretentios wait staff to go along with the whole experience, and NE Social has none of that. The waitstaff on my 3 recent visits has been easy going but attentive and accommodating and right there when you need them. The food is excellent, my favorites being the beef carpaccio, the butterleaf salad, the Amish chicken, and the rosemary honey panna cotta to die for. My friends had the mussels and they looked fantastic too. This is my new favorite, go-to place.

Had the oysters (great) and calamari (nothing special) for apps. Main courses were varied amongst our table - Scallops (daily special), chicken, pork tenderloin, and ribeye. Everyone raved about their meals. Atmosphere is cozy as it's not a huge place and it was comfortable.
My MIL said it was the best food she's ever had. I'm not sure I would go that far but it was very good.
