Diner Reviews
  • "Steak and Prime Rib - excellent. Drinks, soup, salad, rolls - top notch! "

  • "Nice ambiance and decor, great service, great food. Excellent service from a waiter (Dan) with a great attitude. From appetizers to drinks to dessert, not one complaint from our party of 4. We will be dining there again."

  • "The prime rib, one of our group had left much to be desired. It was very dry."

  • "Long time customer of North Shore Grill. Celebrated our 17th anniversary and Caleb our waiter could not have been nicer and more accommodating."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Food was costly, noise level made it hard to converse at the table. We had to wait over an hour from the time we ordered until we got our food."

  • "Although we liked the north shore grill, I feel I would only go back or recommend the place for a special occasion. I feel it was a bit pricey."

  • "All you can eat crab legs is what brought us here. It is what will bring us back. My friend and I love crab and are always looking for places that serve it. All you can eat made it worth the drive. We live 45 minutes away and probably would have never ventured there without the "all you can eat crab". We enjoyed our meal and feel like we have found a new favorite spot. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and will surely be an awesome summer spot too."

  • "The restaurant has a relaxing, romantic feel to it; divided just enough from the bar area so that you can have a peaceful dinner without being disturbed by bar noise. My husband likes spicy food. He ordered the seafood fra diavolo and was very happy with the spiciness of it. I liked the fact that they had sandwiches on the dinner menu in case you didn't want a dinner entree or if you didn't want to spend that much for an entree. All the waiters were extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The view is nice, even in the winter time. We have been there several times during the summer and been seated outside. Always have had an enjoyable experience and have never had a bad meal."

  • "We went to the North Shore Grill for one of their customer appreciation nights and left feeling very appreciated. The bartenders were attentive and informative. We sat at the bar and ordered dinner from there. The mussel appetizer was flavorful and cooked just until done. Other restaurants often overcook these to chewiness. The lobster ravioli had a wonderful creamy sauce, but not overpowering. The staff made us feel very welcome and the manager made the whole operation run smoothly from the background. Great night."

  • "Great night out! Well worth the price and a beautiful location even during the winter. Can't wait to come back again!"

  • "Given the restaurant is on the water, in the dead of winter it is not as busy as the summer months. We were having dinner with friends. We could converse without a lot of background noise. Even with the extensive menu offered three of us had the T-bone steak special, while one had the southwest sirloin. Ail entrees were cooked to medium rare as requested with no issues. Service was consistent without being overbearing. The overall experience was very good and based on this visit we will return in the future."

  • "Grilled Prime Rib was Great, Seafood excellent. Atmosphere was very nice, lots of kids (Presidents Day) but still quiet. Great place to send a cold winters night and worth the drive."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "Funky and attractive ambience. It was winter time so this lakeside restaurant had a quiet calm feel.I would imagine during the summer months it is much busier. The outside seating looked to be awesome. Food was good although on the pricey side. Service was great. A nice place for a romantic dinner setting. Would we go back...possibly but not planning to go again soon, the value for the amount and taste of food does not equal."

  • "My daughter and I had a first class meal to celebrate her 18th birthday- how do you beat all you can eat crab legs on Wednesday nights? Beautiful and cozy dining room on a cold winter night, table by the fire. Tall windows, beautifully decorated, gleaming wood. My daughter had the crab legs which she loved (including a salad and side!) while I had the T-bone special that night. Cooked exactly as ordered with a heaping side of deliciously buttery mashed potatoes. I haven't been to this restaurant in the summer when I'm sure it and the deck are very very busy but on a cold winter's night this was a great escape from the weather."

  • "We celebrated our Valentines on Saturday. We had a very enjoyable dinner. The food was superb and the service excellent. The ambiance was perfect. The acoustics were such that even with all the people it was easy to carry on a conversation. We were very pleasantly surprised with flavors of the food. It was excellent and we will definitely come back for more visits and recommend North Shore Grill to our friends."

  • "Server was great, noise level good, great atmosphere. Not impressed by the food. Everythig was great except the steak was well done when we asked for med-rare. There was not enough food for the price. If the food was phenomenal I wouldn't mind paying but it didn't seem that great. The shrimp scewers were alright, needed more flavor."

  • "The manager went out of his way to make our dining experience a very pleasant one. The waiter hit a good balance knowing when we were in need of him and when we wanted be left alone . The food was delicious, attractive, and a good value."

  • "I ordered the special...Southwest Steak! I ordered it medium well...it was more like well done. Very dry! It had a southwest sauce to dip it in but it was extremely salty. I wasn't the only one at my table who ordered it and they thought the sauce was very salty. One person at our table ordered the Southwest but she asked for no peppery spices. She got that on her steak anyways. The chef fixed it but it took awhile to get it. The waitress should have recommended the plain steak instead or the chef should have just cook a plain steak."

  • "Not as "special" as I thought it could have been. Nothing really stood out."

  • "Food was great. Waitress was excellent. Had a wonderful time"

  • "Restaurant menu is pricey, especially for the lake where people are used to a more moderate and casual menu. Food was ok(jambalaya was salty) our server was excellent but menu is pricey."
    Dined on 12/28/2013
  • "View over Conesus Lake is lovely and outdoor dining in summer makes the most of that. Grilled fish is generally excellent, as was both salmon and cod on our recent trip. Our Christmas Eve experience was a bit atypical, in that we waited even with a reservation and service was only OK (sometimes too chatty sometimes bringing cold food)."
    Dined on 12/24/2013
  • "Lovely setting, nicley decorated, food was very good. Would go back."
    Dined on 12/20/2013
  • "Pricey meal for what you get, service slow/unattentive."
    Dined on 12/21/2013
  • "Food was great-tasting but saltier than we are accustomed to eating."
    Dined on 12/15/2013
  • "We had a great meal and the service was super. The winter view of the lake was a great complement to the meal. I would have rated the ambience higher if a party with screaming toddlers hadn't been seated next to us."

  • "Went with my husband, both ordered surf and turf. Ordered medium rare and was cooked perfectly. Steak was delicious."

  • "Atmosphere lovely, albeit a bit loud, rest rooms very clean. Food a huge disappointment. Prime rib sent back because it was barely seared and ordered Medium.. 3 people in party and 2 of us had entrees that were very over salted. No appearance or flavor of cheddar in the cheddar mashed potatoes. Au gratin Scallops had "fishy smell and flavor", Only 4 or 5 desserts on menu and they were out of one we choose. I would go back for a drink and enjoy the view but the food was not good."

  • "The location and service at this restaurant is awesome, but what you go to a restaurant is for the food. I like nice seasonings, but if it needs a little more salt the customer should have that option. I really could not enjoy our special night out. The desserts are wonderful and clam chowder was amazing. All I can remember is my prime rib with the salt! If you want a nice dessert and glass of wine, this is the place for a memorable moment with a grand view."

  • "Well lets start with the salad. One would think you would have fresh local farm market tomatoes on you salad especially when they are in season. They looked and tasted the same as what you get at subway. Bad Start. Next comes the raw oysters ( they best part of the meal). Then as we waited too long for our lunch ( and the place was not crowded at all), the fish had way too much batter on it and the fries that came with it were cold. I mentioned it to the server, however he did nothing. Very disappointed in the place that I chose to have lunch at with my out of town family that were visiting. I would expect nothing but excellent considering the prices they charge. I am willing to pay for something good, not something mediocre."
