Diner Reviews
  • "We waited on our food for a extended amount of time. Also forgot our app we ordered 1st."

  • "Just had our first of many visits to NB Fish Camp! !! Had some oysters raw and broiled with the bacon cream highly recommend that way to start. My wife and I shared the seafood boil for two. It was perfect for two and was well worth it. Jist wished they gave us something to clean our hands with after digging into the feast definitely not a fork and knife dish so a wet wipe or warm moist towel would have been a nice way to finish the night off. But other then that we cant wait to go back!!"

  • "In town for a conference and chose this place for a night out. Food was excellent. Service excellent and very friendly. The catch of the day was fantastic as were the shrimp and grits. Don't miss the fried green tomatoes!"

  • "This is my fourth time dining at this restaurant. This location is awesome and the food has always been good, not great but good. They are always busy at this location so you will have to wait even if you have a reservation. The apps were really good especially the pimento cheese spread. I ventured off of the usual Mahi dish and ordered the seafood platter. The scallops and fish were bland and overcooked. My guest's meals were good. Overall good dining experience."

  • "We drive from Georgia to eat at this restaurant. The food is always good and very fresh. Our favorite place to dine."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The waitress, Mackenzie, was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had one of the specials, a veal chop, not exactly seafood, and it was outstanding. My wife had a seafood salad and thoroughly enjoyed it.. You must try the bread pudding for dessert. Get the half portion unless you are still very hungry. Again it was our waitress that advised us about the availability of a half portion. What a great idea! All in all, a great dining experience"

  • "Our party of eight had an excellent meal. The shrimp and tasso boudin balls were amazing! We will definitely return!"

  • "Same menu as Palm Valley Fish Camp. I assumed it would be different. Extremely loud. We had to wait 1/2 hour beyond our reservation time for a table. God for a group, but a poor choice for a twosome."

  • "Loved the fresh fish......special app was flounder bites....delicious! Also the Hang Thyme martini was very refreshing!"

  • "Very nice atmosphere at NBFC and staff have great attitudes of service and friendliness...food tasted good but it was all served room temp - fries and all seafood on platter. Parsely potatoes looked like mushy leftovers and little in dish for 3$. Overall though everything tasted great and they do seem to strive to please..we didn't complain bc we were soo hungry. The server was attentive and so nice..all the kids working there are great. We would go back."

  • "We were a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids. We ate Sunday lunch at the Fish Camp. I had made a reservation for 1 pm, and when we arrived our table was still occupied, so they kindly sat us upstairs instead of having us wait. The noise level was better upstairs also which was more enjoyable. The server was good and friendly. He could have been a bit more attentive to the drinks but was otherwise great. The food was terrific. We had blackened shrimp and grits and mahi fish tacos. For apps we had oysters, fried green tomatoes and fried gator. The gator was really chewy, but the other apps were yummy. We will definitely dine there again."

  • "We had a great time....from the drinks, appetizers, main course, and through the dessert! The food was great and our waitress Kami was super! Will be going back real soon for sure!"

  • "Our first experience dining here was in 2012 while attending a conference in Atlantic beach. The food here was fantastic, especially the mussels. We ate here every evening of the conference. We came back later that year for our anniversary to again experience the fantastic food. Now we are back for Spring break 2014. We love the food, wine, service and energy of this place. It's the sort of place we wish we had at home, so we wouldn't have to drive so far to experience it! The restaurant is always full of enthusiastic patrons-- locals and tourists alike. No better endorsement needed than that. Be sure to make reservations, because you'll wait a long time for a table if you don't."

  • "The food is delicious but a little pricey for the portions you get. Service is terrific but it took a bit before we were served after being seated."

  • "Food is always consistently excellent, well prepared, and fresh, and daily specials make it more interesting. They take advantage of seasonal vegetables, and even if someone does not like seafood, there are enough other choices to make anyone happy. The only thing I would consider adding are some panels for buffering sound."

  • "North Beach Fish Camp makes you feel at home without losing a dining out experience. The service is great and Rick's Fish Soup is just amazing. They use fresh ingredients and it's super clean."

  • "We were very impressed with the food and service and the thoughtfulness of the staff. We will definitely return and bring friends."

  • "The food here is reliably great. Only one subpar dish, the fritters. Otherwise, the food is very tasty and carefully prepared. I really love the vibe and ambience so I keep returning, despite marginal/unreliable service. I get the best service upstairs on a weeknight, so that is my usual plan. However, for a friends birthday lunch, I wanted more atmosphere, so braved the service downstairs. It worked out well. Our server was informed, attentive and appropriate. The hostess told me there was only one booth left and tried to stick me in a corner behind a very large party with lots of kids, when there was clearly another empty booth. We fixed that and all else was wonderful, complete with a candle in her dessert! Yay for improvement!"

  • "This was my first trip to NBFC for dinner. We had made a reservation which was honored promptly on our arrival. Our server was very patient as my date and I spent a good amount of time talking rather than deciding what we wanted to eat and drink. When we finally did order, our food was great - they even accomodated my request to change the sides that came with my entree. There was one mishap when the server who brought us our food knocked over my glass of wine. As soon as this happened our main server told us that he would send the manager right over. The manager gave me his card and told me to contact him if I had any issues as some of the wine had gotten on my jacket and pants. Despite this mishap it was a great experience."

  • "Reserved table was ready for. McKenzie is a great server. Food is delicious. Noise level is too high to conduct conversation in normal tines. This has more to do with the hard surfaces than the patrons."

  • "Hi! Visiting the area and took a friend's advice re this restaurant. It was great. Enjoyed the flounder, and had a lot of choices to pick from. Definitely a 10."

  • "Overall this is a comfortable, charming spot. BUT BEWARE, Make sure you ASK about the PRICE of the evening specials. Our waiter did not share that info and I was shocked to see on my check a $16 appetizer charge for the SMALLEST selection of oysters I have ever seen....and a fine but overpriced $24Flounder entree. Yes, one must pay for quality ingredients, but these were not a good value for price paid."

  • "When in town the great food attracts us every week. Best seafood around. Just don't let them seat you upstairs. It's vibrant downstairs but overwhelming upstairs."

  • "We always eat here, love, love, love the food! I had steak at a FISH camp, and it was the best I have had in a long time. Feel like we had special attention, I think this is the norm there, from the wait staff. Cannot wait to return."

  • "Once again, fabulous food and a fun time! The roasted beet salad was fresh and deeply flavorful, while the seafood entrees were perfectly cooked and served with amazing accompaniments. Always a favorite!"

  • "Our wait persons name was Morgan, she was very familiar with the menu, and specials, she was friendly , great with making suggestions, we would ask for her when we return, and we will return, in fact after we arrived and tasted our appetizer we call our friends and they rushed over to join us. My husband had the blacken mahi , and I had the broiled seafood platter, ( which I will have again when we return) , our friends had fried seafood platter, and a shrimp basket type meal. food was great, for desert my husband had the bread pudding, and I had the choc. tart with the peanuts on top ( you could have left the peanuts off), but our guest loved tasted both."

  • "From the drinks at the bustling bar to the shared slice of key lime pie our entire meal was spectacular. For a Monday night in off peak season, the restaurant was very crowded but well managed. Reservations kept us from waiting more than a few minutes. We loved the mussels appetizer and shared two fresh fish entrees for dinner. Service was top notch, helpful and knowledgeable and never pushy. Looking forward to going again next vacation!"

  • "Great food and atmosphere. Only negative thing I can say is it's really loud and often I couldn't hear everything waiter was saying."

  • "We love this restaurant & Palm Valley Fish Camp for the food. The grilled octopus & bean appetizer is wonderful-comes with mixed greens. I had fresh baked red snapper zucchini & onions, and red skinned mashed potatoes that was beautifully prepared with just the right amount of butter & seasoning. My husband had the 'Rick's Chowder" app & the" Special" Red Snapper which came with an avocado cream & veggies. Service was good-waiter very knowledgeable. Love the decor here, but it is a little noisy when it gets crowded. Come early & make reservations."

  • "The food here is ahhhhhhh oooooo mmmmmm. We are originally from Laguna Beach, CA and it is so nice to find a restaurant in this area that knows how to serve something besides burgers, pizza or BBQ. We've returned to this location a total of 9 times now. I recommend the beet salad or broiled oysters for an appetizer. For an entree, I love the shrimp and grits, blackened mahi, whole flounder, pork bellies, or the salmon. Many of their specials are served with southern greens, Tasso sauce and red pepper jelly. Yummmm. For dessert..... If you have any room.....only once our group of 4 shared a cranberry bread pudding. Delish! We will return and have also visited the Jullington Creek location."

  • "Great food and service. Traditional fish camp items as well as more gourmet options. Fried clams and oysters were perfect - delicious and not greasy. Love the cherry limeade too! High quality consistent with that found at the Palm Valley restaurant."

  • "The waiter (Brennan) was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable of the menu. He was the right amount of attentive, not to bothersome and not to absent. He was observant of our needs meeting the before we asked...more drinks, removing dirty dishes. The food was attractive and delicious. First we had a shrimp appetizer and a salad. Then we split a seafood platter. To top it off we had the chocolate torte (sweet & salty) which was creamy delicious."

  • "NBFC is one of those restaurants where you just never get a bad meal! Their specials are always outstanding, and the freshness of the fish as well as other ingredients is evident throughout the menu. We had a table for four, upstairs, and each of us enjoyed the entire meal - appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Jeremy is a great manager, and all the servers we've had in this and past visits have been outstanding. NBFC is THE place to go to at the beach!"

  • "Service was good; the place was noisy as previous diners had noted. Food was below par - served on the cold side and all three of us kept salting the fish to find some taste. The high mark was the cold beer and the peanut butter based pie for dessert - otherwise I would give it one star on food. Very nice and attentive wait staff. Expensive too.Not nearly as good as Roy's or Bonefish Grill."
