  • "The atmosphere and food were great. We were very disappointed in there not being an ounce of recognition of the reason we chose the restaurant for our special anniversary night. We noted within the reservation we were out to celebrate an anniversary and even went and reiterated this to the hostess after our appetizers and the server not mentioning anything. However, neither the hostess nor server even mentioned / congratulated us. This was very disappointing as we'd had a much different experience at this restaurant before. Looks like next celebration we'll have to go elsewhere."

My husband and I were looking for a taste of Irelnad, but a quiet spot a way from all of the over the top St Patrick's Day hoopla! From the green beer, the Guinees and corned beef and cabbage, North Beach Bistro did not disappoint! Don't pass up the hot skillet chocolate chip cookie! It was superb! Great food and great service!"

  • "The food is always good here but their St. Patty's Day special menu (Fri - Mon) was phenomenal! The Guinness cheese soup was decadent - and way too filling- should be a smaller portion. We cleaned every drop in the bowl with bread! Corned beef and cabbage melted in your mouth. No room for dessert!."

  • "We were a party of four and we had a reservation for 6:30 pm and were seated immediately when we arrived. We sat in the dining room. We enjoyed our server and she was very helpful in finalizing our dinner choices. We had the salmon and it was very good. Some of us had the American kobe beef burger with frites and onion rings. The frites could have been more crisp, they were to soggy, the onion rings were unusual but tasty. The burger was excellent. This was not our first time and we would go back again."

  • "We booked for VDay. Our waiter informed us that there was a limited menu, only items from the Valentine's Day menu were avail, we could pick from that menu and we could leave if we wanted. YIKES! We stayed - there was a price listed at the bottom of $54.95 for an appetizer, main course and dessert. ME - Crab Soup, Filet and a Bud Light. My husband - Lobster, dessert and a Sprite. We always guess at the bill. I guessed $65 and he guessed $64. Our bill was $92!! We didn't get close to an app, main course and dessert x's 2. Insane price for the quality. We will go with Ruth's Chris, Morton's, III Forks next time - those are for sure spots when you want a really enjoyable meal! No flatware wrapped in paper napkins there!"

  • "We invited our friends as we were given a $50 gift card. It was wonderful. Everyone loved the meal they got. We started with a Champagne Martini. 3 of the 4 people had liquor. We enjoyed the drinks. We had the Shrimp appetizer. It was excellent. I had a salad (Arugula with blue cheese and pecans). It was great! My husband had the steak. I had the grouper. My friends husband had the tuna. He said it was the best tuna he ever had. We ended with the bread pudding (to die for!). My friend had the chocolate brownie. We loved the entire meal!!!"

Restaurant attached to art gallery with modern local art - a real plus! Good wine list for reds/whites. My special request martini was perfect. Seasonal menu takes advantage of local seafood - a must try. We'll come back again."

  • "Stopped by for brunch again, and chose to eat at the bar as we needed quick service and like the atmosphere. Mike was the bartender and delivered our orders promptly, with friendly and efficient service. We ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich, which was fresh, tender & delicious with a side of Bistro Fries. The best we have had since moving to Jacksonville 4 years ago. Intrigued by the Weekly Specials and Events, and definitely will be back for the live music @ 7:30 - 10:30 PM Thursday, Friday and Saturday."

  • "We were glad to see the place was busy as we have been here many times when it has been empty.. Excellent martinis, and love the bread with hummus and olive oil that is served. WEdge salad is excellent served with capers..gives it a different flavor. The rockfish was a treat and melted in your mouth. It was a tough decision as many items on the menu sounded delicious. The bar is a separate room and happy hour goes til 7. So we suggest you go for hh prices then move into the dining room with your last cocktail - seems many do that. Or you can just enjoy the spacious dining room - you are not sitting on top of other tables. The owner came around to the tables, which is a nice touch to make sure everything was going well and you were happy."

  • "We were looking for a place to eat on a Sunday night that would please everyone in our group. I saw North Beach on Open Table and reviewed the menu. It had something for everyone. When we arrived, we were seated in the main dining room. The restaurant was not crowded because the NFC Championship game was on. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about everything, even the score of the game. The Chef had many specials that evening and we tried several of them. The food is outstanding and the portions are huge. Price is very reasonable also. My wife had the Scottish Salmon. Her comment was the best she ever had and she is a very picky eater. I had the short ribs and our friends had the pasta special and the Meatloaf.Great service."

  • "Menu had so many different options, couldn't decide what to try. Started with calamari and fried green tomatoes. We then had grouper, salmon and flat bread pizzas with side salads. All delicious with large portions. Wine list and cocktails also provided many options. Staff was efficient. We dined in dining room which was large and had several big parties celebrating. Not really quiet and romantic, but great for the six of us. Would definitely go back rather than waiting in lines at St. John's Town Center."

  • "We tried this restraunt for the first time for the New Years Eve diinner they had. We had 3 in our party. They charged $70.00 a person and included their own 20% auto gratuity. We do not like this practice. We do not need anyone auto tipping us, especially on a party of 3. I have seen on the news that this will be going away and not allowed any longer for any size party. The food was good not excellent. The service was ok not great. Most likely will not return or recommend."

  • "News Years Eve here. Wife did the lobster, me the grouper, both were great. Nice bottle of chard for $42 and a great local beer on tap (several actually). We come here a lot and usually dine on the bar side - casual, friendly, often some live music (1 or maybe 2 playing), and it's just a wonderful place in all regards. If you prefer a little quieter, darker, and more private, eat in the dining room - same menu both rooms. Always great food and service, reasonably priced, and if you have a question, Chef Dave will come out and talk to you (so long as he's not slammed). Highly recommended. I will say it's not the best choice for bringing kids."

  • "A group of 7 friends and I planned to brunch Sunday 12/29 but finding good food and a big enough table is hard in our area. I was able to make a reservation at NBB but was unsure what to expect for brunch. The group started to arrive and were shown directly to a table and immediately served really excellent coffee. The menu was delightful and our service could not have been better. The prices were very reasonable and while the dining room got busy we never felt crowded. Very nice!"

  • "I don't know if they have a new chef or just changed their direction. We have been here several times recently and noticed the menu constantly changes. The pistachio crusted lamp chops where unbelievable! They were 5 tiny, tender, juicy chops on whipped sweet potatoes and asparagus. The grouper special with shrimp was equally impressive and tasty. The wedge salad was not a half head, so was perfectly small as a starter without filling you up. The best part is the home made hummus with olive oil that is served with your cocktail."

  • "For the price of the meals, I would expect them to be wonderful! However, it was okay, meaning it was good if the food was priced for good. I felt that I could get similar quality of food at a chain restaurant like Applebee's or similar, but each plate would have been considerably less. Mini Tuna taco appetizer was $12 and had two tacos that were not much bigger than a silver dollar. The wedge sale for $8 was not different than a $6 wedge somewhere else, possibly even smaller. Now someone in my group got the steak and it was large and looked very good, but was it a $32 steak? I don't think so. The cranberry bread pudding was good, but dry…not sure how much it was. Wouldn't return without a large coupon or improvements."

  • "We were late for Sunday Brunch so we ordered the lunch Prime Rib Sliders, french fries & Bottomless Mimosas!! Delicious and filling!! After eating we went to the bar area, which was cozy & large. We were told they have a very active Bar Scene with live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Weekly Events and specials like Tuesday Lobster Night!! Our second visit was to the bar area and we ordered the calamari!! The best I have had, tender and tasty!! We met with Katie Boyer, the Catering and Events Manager to discuss a 50th Birthday Celebration including coworkers & friends. She was very accommodating & showed us how they could set aside an area in the bar for us. Didn't work out this time, will definitely keep it in mind for future events."

  • "The "banging shrimp" is well... banging! Definitely try it! My bf and I went on a slow night, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The service was great and the food was amazing. The risotto w/ chicken isn't too heavy and the pomegranate martini is a hit! Looking forward to visiting this place again soon!"

  • "We ate Thanksgiving dinner there and we were a little disappointed. The food was good but for the price the coffee and beverages should have been included in the Buffet. The three of us drank coffee with our dessert and it was 7.50. Plus my girlfriend drank a momosa and that was 7.00. Our bill was 147.00 For what we paid it wasn't really worth it. Next year we will find some where that includes beverages and has a wider variety of food on the buffet. The service was good but we won't be making that place a Holiday tradition."
