North is offering a prix fixe menu and accepting reservations this Valentines Day! Please visit our website to view the menu and contact the restaurant directly to save your seat. We hope you will join us! Thanks, North
We’ve turned a modern lens on traditional Italian cooking. North Italia is our love letter to Italy—a place that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped off a charming side street to discover a culinary gem. After a decade in business, we’ve learned a thing or two and we’re approaching perfection in the art of handmade pasta and pizza. Every day, we start from scratch to create dishes like Strozzapreti with Bloomsdale spinach or supple ribbons of tagliatelle for our Bolognese. Our pizza is a revelation: an airy, barely chewy center embraced by a perfectly crisp crust. With the spirit of the Italian taverna, North is the place to talk shop over a cocktail or swap gossip sharing delectable chef creations. Every neighborhood would be lucky to have a place like North.

We'v been here a couple of times- once with our (hyper-active) toddlers and once by ourselves. Both our experiences have been awesome. Wait-staff was super patient and understanding with us when we did take our kids along. And they were great when we went on a date night- suggesting great wine pairings among others.

Went with a girlfriend on a Sat. Night. We're seated as soon as we walked in -- thanks to our reservation on Open Table. Great scene! Great food! Great wine! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Top notch! Plus after dinner we went to Cru wine bar directly across from North. Perfect classy girls night out!

I have been a loyal customer of North for several years. They used to be a wonderful place, with great food and great service. They are priced higher than other restaurants, but the quality of the food and service was worth the extra dollars. However, lately, the service and food quality have become inconsistent and have generally declined. There are a few menu items that have remained consistently good and they have very good beverages, but I will be seeking a new favorite lunch spot for meeting with friends and colleagues.

We booked a week in advance for a group of 5 and mentioned that it was for a birthday. They sat us at a high, super long pub table right next to the bar. Not a nice or a reserved-a-week-advance type table. You end up right next to strangers, the high stools are uncomfortable and being right next to the bar is a really busy spot. The food and cocktails were good though. Just wish they had treated our special occasion as a special thing.

This was an excellent choice of venue for a first date. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive. My only negative comment is that the seating is very utilitarian, not very cozy. Tables laid out in rows to fit as many people as possible. I would have preferred a nice corner booth instead of a table for two in the middle of the restaurant.

This place was okay, compared to the dozen or so other restaurants that we have tried in and around the Austin, TX area. Being from the northeast corridor (NY, PHL, DC) we have come to the slow and disheartening realization that Texans do not know how to cook anything but brisket.

My prosciutto fig and goat cheese pizza was excellent as usual, though it did seem to taste a little different from the last time I had it. Not as savory as I remember it. My friend got the caprese sandwich and was shocked when the waiter brought her a sandwich with runny, gloppy, ricotta-like cheese spilling over the sides and a really unappetizing, odd-tasting sweet tomato jelly slathered onto that. I tasted it. It was awful. She had to scrape the tomato goop off as much as she could, then liberally salt and pepper the sandwich in order to stomach it. Oh, and she had to eat it with a knife and fork. It wasn't like any caprese sandwich we'd ever encountered before and kind of put a damper on the lunch because it was so disappointing.

I know I am getting older, but the "music" in the background really added nothing to the experience. A restaurant with those acoustics - and being at the Domain - has plenty audio stimulus to make it interesting, without some load bass bumping noise in the background. Come on, people do like to talk some while at a restaurant, and music in the background that you cannot even discern the artist adds nothing, and subtracts much. My only other complaint was the bartender we had while waiting for a table. I know bartenders have a fast paced job. But if you are going to charge $15.00 for a glass of Cabernet, I would like to have a minute to decide which one, she proceeded to rudely thump at the wine list in front of me.

NoRTH's strength is obviously in the kitchen. The service is also excellent. Which makes for a great dinning experience. This is a high energy place to enjoy a well prepared meal. Our two youngest kids were away at camp, so my wife and I decided to take our teenage daughter out for dinner. It turned out great. The picky teenager loved the pizza and caesar salad, and my wife and I were able to enjoy the pasta, appetizers, wine, and cocktails. It was a little noisy to be perfect for dinner conversation, but we didn't mind too much. The meal was paced slowly, which encouraged us to relax between courses. If you're looking for a place to get in and out quickly, you might want to look for another place. (Lunch service is considerably faster, I've found.) Highly recommended.

Made reservations a week to 10 days out. When we arrived were led to an outside table without being asked if eating outside in temp of 90 degrees plus ok. Service was abysmal. Food when it finally arrived all at once - appetizer, salad and entrees - was at best acceptable. Pizza very good. Pasta with spicy shrimp had good pasta with dinky frozen shrimp. Grilled artichokes were overcooked. Croutons in Caesar salad were pieces of stale bread and not herbed. Bottle of sparkling rose arrived at room temp. Ice in ice bucket was so minimal we put ice and water from our own glasses of water in it. Doubt we will ever go back.

I took my girlfriend out for her birthday, it's the first time either of us have had a birthday since we got together, so I wanted something special. All my plans for a romantic day had fallen apart, and dining at NoRTH was the only part of my plan that stayed intact. We got there in time for our reservation, they had a nice table waiting for us, our server was very polite and an all-around cool guy. The food was fantastic (I recommend the bolognese), and the dessert phenomenal (we had the salted caramel budino [not sure if I'm spelling that correctly]). Great experience all around, and we can't wait to dine at NoRTH again soon.

We had delicious food, served attractively. We had excellent attentive service and noticed a huge staff of waiters and waitresses always hustling and smiling. The only hitch? I picked NoRTH based on a Yelp! review saying "average" noise level, versus other spots in the area rated "loud." We found the restaurant to be very loud on a Saturday afternoon, having to almost yell to carry on a conversation. It detracted from the experience but, depending on our mood, we'll likely find another time to go back.

We are regulars at North. We love the good food, innovative cousine and the feel of the place. We will go there for lunch or dinner at any time. Service is usually good to great, but this last time for dinner on July 13, the waiter needed some training. Very slow service (his service.... drinks, a napkin, a fork... not kitchen service), he did not seem motivated at all. I usually tip arround 20%, but he did not at all earn his tip, which we had to reduce for this ocassion. I suggest the manager works on staff training, as this place is great!!

Food is mediocre, their famous zucca chips are nothing but greasy , salty and burned zucchini slices. I you want real italian food go somewhere else where food is better and cheaper. I had a pizza which is mostly bread, the toppings are very "slim". The server hated his own life, rude, absent and careless.

We are frequent OpenTable diners at North and the service and food are always excellent. At our last dinner (on a Sunday night), our server forgot about us. Yes, he took our orders and filled up our water glasses, but most of the time he appeared disinterested. In fact, we didn't get part of our order, and he passed by our table three times without asking how we were doing. He was much more attentive to the two tables next to us, and for some reason just forgot about us. When we asked for the check and requested we not be charged for the missing item, his response was "I wish I had known about the missing portion earlier" - sorry, I guess we should have shouted to hail him down! Thanks to the manager for the free entree, though!
