We’ve turned a modern lens on traditional Italian cooking. North Italia is our love letter to Italy—a place that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped off a charming side street to discover a culinary gem. After a decade in business, we’ve learned a thing or two and we’re approaching perfection in the art of handmade pasta and pizza. Every day, we start from scratch to create dishes like Strozzapreti with Bloomsdale spinach or supple ribbons of tagliatelle for our Bolognese. Our pizza is a revelation: an airy, barely chewy center embraced by a perfectly crisp crust. With the spirit of the Italian taverna, North is the place to talk shop over a cocktail or swap gossip sharing delectable chef creations.Every neighborhood would be lucky to have a place like North.

A very pleasant surprise...not being much of a fan of concept chain restaurants, we had a great experience. The service was friendly without being overbearing and food came out in a timely manner. The food was very fresh, seasonal, and made with innovative culinary skill. Both hubby and I had enough for lunch the next day. The ambience was casual and comfortable with the noise level(one of my pet peeves) was tolerable. Complimentary valet parking was well organized and easy to navigate. I'll be back!

A limited menu but great homemade italian pasta and sauces. This is not a steak and potatoes restaurant, but the vibe is modern and the menu choices reflect country Italian cooking. The salad choices are grand, the "short-rib" selection will take care of the traditional meat lover, and the chicken dishes fill up the rest of carnivore cravings. However, pasta is king! The sauces are excellent, and the superb bread soaks up any excess red sauce that's left in the bowl.

Excellent pizzas, good Italian dishes, reasonably priced, pretty good wine selection, and friendly, prompt service. Appetizers of calamari and trio antipasta plate came quickly and were great. Meals also were paced and served correctly.

The 'Fall Lasagna' with butternut squash is filling even though the pasta layers are thin and perfectly chewy. Flavors are savory. We shared the combo chef's board and enjoyed the change with brussels sprouts and cranberries. Spinach tortelloni is fat with cheese. Our friends enjoyed the Branzino fish and the Pig Pizza, always a favorite. Servers are always friendly and work as a team.

This restaurant had the enviable luck to have power on the Saturday night of the storm. It was bustling. But service was very attentive, and the food is really wonderful. The calamari appetizer is really a salad with the arugula accompaniment and a great combo. The heirloom beet salad was comprised of different kinds of beets and greens and a light dressing. The pan roasted Salmon was done a perfect medium, and the fregula salad was flavorful without being overly salty -- which is sometimes a fault of restaurant Italian food. Like most Fox restaurants, this place is not cheap, but the value is particularly good. And with the various choices of salads, pizzas, appetizers and entrees, you don't need to spend a real bundle if you wish.

To begin with, you could order off the menu for the same, or even less depending on choices, than the $33 restaurant week special. What's special about that? Four of us ate there last Saturday; for entrees we had gnocchi, bolognaise, and 2 pork dishes. Meals were good, but not great. Ditto for the service. On the downside, it's the ambiance. Industrial design with uncomfortable seating. And the noise level as about as loud as anyplace I can recall. Not a place we will be going back to.

My wife heard about this restaurant and went there for our 10 year anniversary. The staff was very friendly and went the extra mile for us. The food was great and the overall experience was fantastic. We had the chicken pesto and the pig pizza. Both were excellent. The zucca chips for an appetizer were addicting and the deserts were perfect. Very very good.

Great food, great wine selection, amazing service, but inside is just too noisy. It always has been, and because of the décor, there's just not too much that can be done about it. So I'll always go there - love that place, but either sit outside or, inside, be prepared to talk louder than usual and contribute to the energetic-ness.

the food was exceptional. the noise level was very loud, had a hard time hearing conversation, the room was very active acousticly. The service also left much to be desired, long time between courses, rarely saw waiter, he seemed more interested in the young ladies at the next table

It was busy and very noisy so the staff suggested we sit outside. We were close to the misters, which made it very humid and drippy. We had great service at first, but after the main course, we felt we were being ignored. They were admitidly very busy. The appetizers we selected were really tasty. Fior the main course, I had excellent salmon on assorted vegetables that were swimming in too much butter. My husband had the pasta and thought it was very good. We had two different desserts that were fabulous and VERY RICH. We enjoyed the evening overall.

Had a very nice dinner! Food was excellent. Highly recommend the calamari appetizer. Me and my guests all had salads for dinner and they were great! Lots of fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was informal and relaxed, everyone in the restaurant was having a good time, and the food was good. Overall, it's a very nice place to meet and dine. The only complaint--and this is not all unique to North Arcadia--is that the noise level was so loud that you had to shout to be heard by the person sitting at your table only a few feet in front of you. On the up side, it meant that people were enjoying themselves. But on the downside, restaurants will often turn up the music to be heard above the patrons, and the patrons wind up shouting to be heard among the music.

What a fantastic dining spot. Patio dining very nice, relaxing, off of 40th street but well located /hidden by landscaping. All fresh made pasta and pizza nice selection. For a girls night out hit the spot, can t beat the chefs board and salads big enought to share fresh hot pizza and then top it all off with to die for desserts and cappuccino. Service was excellent, our server Paul was very helpful with the wine list and selections.

We have dined at NORTH Arcadia several times and had found that Sunday evening was the optimal time to go--less noisy, pleasant. Unfortunately--for the first time--it was quite noisy on Sunday evening. After ordering, our first choice (mussels) became unavailable; a slight disappointment on a rather limited menu. All in all, the food is good, the staff is pleasant, and we will return.
