  • "It felt like a bit of a classic Winterlicious setup. As much as I'm not particularly picky, my steak was definitely more done than the medium rare which was even suggested by our server before I had the chance to answer the question of how I wanted it done. The roasted beet salad was quite nice, and the scalloped potatoes with the steak were melt in your mouth buttery and milky. One of the servers dropped a knife on my lap as she was collecting the plates from our appetizer - glad that wasn't the steak knife from our main, and though they were apologetic, I can't help but wonder if we were subjects for new hires. Good food, but ironically not worth the price of the Winterlicious offering. I kind of wished I'd gone off the main menu."

  • "At arrival were faced by a black curtain directly ahead, stairs to the right....no one or signage to direct which way to go, apparently you're supposed to slip through the curtains to the hostess desk..who knew? Were rushed through dinner, in & out in about an hour. Crab & corn chowder was bland, barely livened up by 3 tiny croutons. Steak tartar was enjoyed, the substitution of taro chips for toast points for gluten intolerancy was appreciated. The mains extremely small with minimal sides...the steak was cooked to request but mediocre in taste & came with 3 small brussells sprouts (delicious) and a tiny flat square of what were called scalloped potatoes (?) Sticky toffee pudding delicious. Not once did our waitress ask how our meal was."

  • "Love the food! Everything was on point :) we were greeted by the doorman on a cold winter night and was seated fairly quickly. They also have complimentary coat check which is a bonus. I highly Recommend checking this spot out. The steak tartare and chowder was amazing."

  • "We had really been looking forward to trying North 44 and decided to take advantage of the Winterlicious deal. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't really one worthy of the restaurant's reputation. While the service staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was very nice, the food was not what we'd expected. What we were served tasted good - despite being luke-warm from probably having been prepared well in advance - but the amount on the plate was really disappointing. We were in and out in less than an hour. For an expensive restaurant, they certainly are very cheap with the portion sizes."

  • "1st time here. In a word: perfect. My wife and I are critical diners, but we honestly couldn't find anything to fault regarding our dinner. Good selection of oysters, delicious scallops cooked just right, and outstanding bison. A nice selection of wines by the glass, and extremely professional, knowledgable, friendly service. The room is a bit beige-80's, but they shouldn't change it. It was chic then, and will probably will be again sometime. In the mean time, we will be back for more. Cost: $ 370. Worth every last penny."

  • "Have dined at N44 many times. Very hot and fresh bread with great tasting butter started the meal off on the right foot. Lobster salad was generous and quite tasty. The rib eye steak was 10/10 (you need to enjoy a little fat which gives it the great flavor). Friends loved the bison, tenderloin and trout. you can't go wrong with the apple crostata for dessert. Service was professional-always is!"

  • "This is my 3rd visit to North 44 in the year, and was once again very happy with my dinning experience. I had a fresh pasta with lamb meatballs which was excellent. For my main, I went with the USDA Prime Rib eye, and the cook was bang on, medium rare, but with a lovely char on the outside...and since it is truffle season, it came with a truffled risotto, which was fantastic. Their churros for dessert were ok, bordering on being overdone, not their usual stellar dessert, but all in all, a great meal."

  • "We had Dover Sole for $56 per plate. It was bland. The service was slow, the dessert cheese plate was horrible. The Cayuga goat cheese was impossible to keep on your palate. Also, the table beside us took at least 50+ pictures, blinding us with their flashes. The staff encouraged the photos by helping take pictures with no consideration of the other guests comfort. $450 for 2 people for just a bad experience."

I love to cook so when I do go out to dine, the food has to be good and this is what I find each time at North 44. Good selection, interesting and colorful. Problem with our city or metropolitan is that if you live in Richmond Hill you really don't have too many restaurants to choose from and you always have to venture downtown which is not convenient for us."
