This place is ideal for after seeing a show at The Independent. Food was very good, burgers were delicious! Sad that the waitress we got was not on par with the rest of our experience that evening... An extra half an hour of waiting was added because of waitress not being able to manage her tables quick enough.

Nopa is probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. They really excel at making simple, good food. Nothing is overly complicated or frilly, it's simple and plated beautifully, and paired with a great wine.

The food was really really good; inventive, exciting, inspiring. The place was lively (great people watching!) and the service stellar. I have eaten at a lot of places in San Francisco, but nothing topped this. You must try the pork sugo and smoked trout salad.

Nopa has maintained quality and slowly improved since it opened 8 yrs ago. Has really avoided trend and scene based success. Food is outstanding as is service professional. I had avoided for a few years bacase of crowds. But visited twice recently and better then before. Highly recommend Ed. Try off hours if you can figure out when it is. Recent fish dishes and roast chicken have been outstanding. Little details like salads and coffee are very good, often over looked elsewhere.

After dining several times at Nopalito (both locations) I wanted to try the 'mother ship'. My wife and I had an exceptional Sunday brunch at Nopa. Each item we ordered was imaginative and well prepared. Exceptional wait-staff. We will return many times to enjoy the dishes we did not order on that occasion.

Been here many times and wanted to take my Mom. Got a reservation for 9:45 pm and had an unimpressive table next to loud tech turds. Didn't ruin the meal. Waiter Dan was fantastic and the food was delicious. Will go back.

Nopa is an intimate restaurant and we sat next to a table where two of the guys were extremely loud and somewhat vulgar in what they were saying. A couple sitting next to them asked to be moved. At one point a manager came by and talked to the guys and that helped. My drink order got messed up not once but twice! Nopa is a popular restaurant. We had 8:00 pm reservations on a Sunday night. When we tried to move it to 7:00 pm we could not. When we got there we could see why as every table was full.

Great service, great food! What more can you ask for? Eggs were heavenly and bacon was crunchy and fatty and perfection! Service was terrific without being overbearing. Only complaint was that the tea was steeped before being brought to the table. 3 1/2 minutes I was told. I would have rather steeped it to my likes. Otherwise, very good brunch!

That's how nopa describes itself on it's web page and that's exactly what it delivered. My girlfriend and I had dinner there on Friday night, and it's the food that really shines. We split a variety of small plates: Cauliflower soup, fried brussels sprouts, roasted sardines, flat bread with bacon and roasted squash with brown butter. Every single item was delicious with the brussels sprouts and sardines as our favorites. Combined with the rain that day, the food set the stage for welcoming fall. The wine list was interesting and we enjoyed the chenin blanc and the Puzelat malbec. We weren't crazy about the french pinot. Nopa's a great neighborhood restaurant and we'll definitely be back.

Mind blowing food and beverage, great atmosphere and overall a top notch, San Fran must go! The ham appetizer is a hidden masterpiece, the squash side could be an entree it's so good, and the burger and pappardelle were out of this world. Can't go wrong, but expect to eat late as peak times are typically booked solid. Enjoy!

Baked bean app was ok. had a late lunch so pasted on the desserts. drink list and wine list might as well have been in a different language because I didn't know what i was reading. the restaurant is beautiful and very fun. would go back in a heartbeat.

I booked this reservation based on a close friend's personal recommendation and it is not disappoint. NOPA is simply first class, in every respect. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was great too. We were seated upstairs at what in my opinion was the best table in the house. If you go, ask to be seated upstairs. We had the pork chop, which was simply the best pork chop (by far!) that I have ever had in my entire life. Truly a meal and an evening to remember! I would give NOPA my highest recommendation.

I'd been hearing about Nopa since I first arrived to San Francisco and of course had to try it out. Overall, I really liked the restaurant. The vibe is cool and the bar area is buzzing. But I did find the menu to be overrated. I wouldn't not go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to grub there again either.

Nopa is a trendy concept. The best we ordered was the pork chop. It was extremely hot in SF the night we had dinner at Nopa and the first table we got was upstairs in the corner. Not nice and extremely hot, we were switched downstairs and was much better. Salmon with lentils is also very good

My second visit at NOPA, as thoroughly underwhelmed as the first. Vibrant restaurant with non-stimulating food. We all got different items that consisted of every dish on the menu. 2 main dishes I'd order again (burger and rabbit) and 1 appetizer (broccoli) that was captivating. Overall, not a place I'd recommend to others nor feel the need to return.

My wife was running late and we were terribly stressed, but I was seated without even having to do the song and dance I'd planned. This was a special night for us and we were treated well. Nopa was the highlight of our trip! The Grassfed Hamburgers were incredible! The service was impeccable and our server stayed and talked at our table as if we were his only table. They were extremely accommodating to my dairy allergy. The bar drinks were out of this world and creative! I had the pear. Highly recommended...any drink is great! The rotisserie chicken tasted like an herb garden. Beware of the calamari...it is basically the squid cut in half, but it was exquisite!

Looking forward to coming here. Starters were very good. The flatbread and the baked beans and feta were great. Things came apart a little for the main course. Rotisserie chicken huge portion and a little dry. Didn't need the side order of fries which were great with the basil mayo but wish the server had said portion sizes were quite big. The burger seemed A bit on the dry side. Loved the server (Kim) very warm and informative and loved The space. But was disappointed overall. Foreign cinema was much better the previous night

I've been here for brunch multiple times, and each time it's been great. First things first, always make a reservation if you want to get in for sure for brunch. You can walk in and try to get onto the communal table, but it's a tough ask. Each time I've gone for brunch I've tried different things, but my favorite things have always been the pork and French toast. Both are very rich in flavor, and easy to share with another person. Never had a complaint about any of the other brunch menu items. Service has always been good. I've sat upstairs, downstairs, and at the communal table. and it's been great in all spots.
