Nonnina Italian Bistrobetter than 3 years agowe are Francophiles, love the Lakehouse, but had no choice other than Noninna's recently . Glad we did because it was such an improvement from the first two times we ate there several years ago. The cold seafood salad was wonderful and the wild duck a real pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA keeper!Quite dependable, always something interesting. Attentive but not overbearing service.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was wonderfulOrdered 3 different appetizers to split and each one was more delicious than the next. Entrees were exceptional. Service was attentive and knowledgable. We were pleased with every aspect of our dining experience. Definitely reccommend.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal and serviceExcellent meal and service as usual. Never disappointed by dining and having some drinks at the bar with friends.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service, Great food.Great Service, Great food. I would recommend the seafood salad as an appetizer4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for dinner withWent there for dinner with a night out with my girlfriends that I had not seen in a long time. Had drinks at the bar first and the bartenders were very pleasant and polite. The food, ambiance and décor were excellent. The waiter who served us seemed to be a bit snooty but I don't know if that was his attitude or if he was trying to be funny. I'm very easy going so I did not take much offense to it but my 2 girlfriends were definitely rubbed the wrong way and did not particularly care for this waiter (I do not know what his name was). Other than that, I really enjoyed the restaurant and look forward to going back for a nice date night with my husband.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive for what they giveExpensive for what they give you. Food was really good.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great experience. We had a great experience. The food was amazing (and we are foodies). Everything we had was incredible and beyond our expectations. The service was great too. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it, especially for a special occasion.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI had heard many great thingsI had heard many great things about this place and hadn't yet had a chance to check it out, until my wife's birthday. They had valet parking which was nice, and probably necessary on a busy night with their tiny parking lot. Walking in, the atmosphere was relaxed, romantic, and very classy. My wife and I were very surprised at how everything was so well put together, considering it was somewhat unassuming from the outside.
The service was excellent, everybody was more than helpful and gracious.
We ordered the Grilled Octopus and Ragout appetizers, which were excellent, the octopus was nicely charred on the outside with just the most amazing, tender texture, definitely the best octopus dish I have ever had. Seasoned with lemon, dill an4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you are looking for somethingIf you are looking for something other than the normal Italian food this is a must try. Service was attentive.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA very Nice to Excellent restaurantA very Nice to Excellent restaurant in Long Island. The Menu offers many choices and we had were excellent including 6 first courses and 6 main courses. The deserts also did not disappoint! Prices were reasonable even for the Specials which were excellent. Only slight complaint - Wine prices were quite high for this and any other restaurant. We paid $65 for a Pinot Noir that retails for less than $20!!
A bit high and would let us think twice about going back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our anniversary andIt was our anniversary and it was a lovely place for a "romantic" dinner after 42 years of marriage. We had a lovely time and the waiter service was terrific.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMeal was wonderful. ServiceMeal was wonderful. Service very attentive. Top notch dining experience.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at Nonnina's. The bar was busy and crowded, but expected for a Friday night. I thought we would have to wait to be seated, but we were seated promptly. The staff was attentive and the food was very good, although there could have been more entree choices. The veal meatballs parmegiana and calamari appetizers were delicious. My husband had the shrimp oreganato entree which he loved. My chicken parmegiana wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be, but delicious anyway (nice and moist with a large order of spaghetti accommpanying it). Aside from it being a little noisy (almost all the tables had groups), we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the ambiance of the restaurant. We will definitely return for another meal!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner. We ordered aGreat dinner. We ordered a nice Chianti, but they ran out after one bottle.1/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food at a fair priceJoanna is a great server. Unfortunately, during lunch, they have Joanna doing everything from bartending to bussing her tables. But, Joanna gets it done with a smile. Our regular entrees (veal meatballs, shrimp oreganata & salad) were all excellent. We tried the special seafood chowder which joins our short list of outstanding choices. Nonnina's bread is the best on LI. The half-priced wine on Wednesdays is quite an incentive.12/12/2012 12:00:00 AMThe best Italian on the South ShoreAnother great meal and great service. I tried the seared scallops which are outstanding, but a notch below the Shrimp Oreganata. The bread is simply addictive. I have no idea why they hold back on the olive oil. The house Chianti was excellent.12/7/2012 12:00:00 AMAn Excellent MealWe had a GREAT meal at Nonnina's. We rec'd excellent service from George. Every single item we ordered was fabulous. My favorites are the veal meatballs and shrimp oreganata. Nonnina's has the best crusty bread on LI. We had an excellent meal at an excellent price.12/5/2012 12:00:00 AMA Great Lunch at a fair PriceWe went for lunch and had a very good meal. First, I love Nonnina's bread. Second, we had decent wine by the glass. Third, we had just what we liked.....veal meatballs, shrimp oreganata, clams. I think the shrimp oreganata is the best item on the menu. I like the lunch size (3 shrimp) for only $14 better than the dinner size (5 shrimp) for $29. Luckily, the veal meatballs are on both the lunch and dinner menus. Most people like small portions. People wouldn't share items if the servings were sized properly. Restaurants want to make money with big portions with big prices. They would do better serving healthy portions at reasonable prices.11/30/2012 12:00:00 AM
