Nola - Palo AltoWonderful food and atmosphphereThis was my second time at Nola's. The first time was later in the evening and very noisy. This time it was earlier in the evening (5:30 p.m.) and wasn't crowded yet. So the noise level was down and I could hear what my group of 4 was saying despite the very loud table near us (there were 8 people at that table). Our waiter was very attentive and the food was excellent. I had the cluck and moo dish which was very good. The ribs fell off the bone it was that tender and moist. The chicken breast with gravy was okay but felt they needed a little more seasoning to bring out the flavors. We all shared the bread pudding dessert. Our server was awesome! When I mentioned to her that it was our mother's birthday, she brought a complimentary dessert. The Black & Blue Ahi Tacos are delicious for an appetizer, or if you're just not terribly hungry, and my seared scallops were perfect - tender and flavorful.
I would highly recommend Nola to anyone looking for a fun night out.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBDay DinnerI took my family out to dinner here for my little sisters bday. We had a great time, everyone enjoyed their food. I got the Jambalaya medium hot. It was fantastic, a little too spicy but I managed to eat it all because it was so good. The raspberry mojito was DELICIOUS! I would go back just for that drink! The service was great and the environment was fun and lively. Definitely not a place to go to have a quiet dinner. The server brought out a little ice cream sundae with a candle for my little sister. She loved it!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the service!We were a group of 15 people on a Friday night. We were given a special room on the second floor. The layout of the room gave us all a great opportunity to connect and talk to each other. Though, it would have been nicer if there was a circular table, instead of a rectangular shaped table. That way we wouldn't have had to move around and talk to people. We could just have sat in one place and talked to everyone.
As for the service, I must say I was most impressed with the servers. They took all the feedback we provided them with such good spirit and made sure they implemented them immediately. Haven't seen that in any other restaurant. Amazing attitude!

Great table for 6 people upstairs. Water & waiter touched bases right away. Great drinks. Great, interesting food. Service was attentive and timely. Everyone liked their food; skirt steak, fried chicken & waffles, fish tacos. Good house salad, great jambalaya, yummy fried chicken & waffles, and really good blackened salmon (loved the potatoes). And of course we had the beignets - wow - except the chocolate sauce now has caramel (not as good), and the bourbon sauce now has caramel (not as good). We were both splendidly surprised at how wonderful the food and service was- just like when we first started going. Our server was being trained and he did a great job! The managers were very awkwardly dressed ad one even delivered our food to our table without saying anything..., but other than that awesome experience! Thanks Nola's!
