  • "The restaurant was a nice place tucked away. The food was good, out waitress was great, and the live music made for a very enjoyable dinner. The Hurricane's were very tasty and dessert so sweet. The meal was good and present very nicely. The pricing is a bit high, but still would recommend. Also I would add that even being a Saturday night and a soccer game going on. Service was good even with a pack house."

  • "First time experience was Amazing from the food to the service. Being from New Orleans and traveling to Dallas we had to try this. The food is so authentic that I'm amazed its in Dallas because we have tried the other so called Cajun places that miss the mark by far. Nola grill is the best restaurant in Dallas. When we are in town we will be back for sure!!!!!"

  • "It was our first time at the restaurant, We have been to New Orleans & the food was not quite there. We have lived in California wine country, the wine list was lacking variety, especially for spicier food & was way overpriced for Texas. We ordered wine just to go with the appetizer, & it took took 45 min to receive to appetizer. The server forgot to enter our order until our entree came & I asked what happened to our appetizer. The ambiance was low & it was noisy."

  • "Terrific New Orleans food. Nice people work there. Steven is a terrific server. Great Sazerac. What more do you need?"

  • "I really want Nola Grill to be my "go-to" neighborhood place for great food and fun times. It is really not working for me. First, the prices are pretty hefty. I get it, but with generous prices, I'd like GREAT service. I will say, the food is really good. Perhaps some day price, food and service will align. I really want to make this my local spot. Just not feeling it right now."

  • "NOLAs is a great spot for a girls' night out, date night, birthday celebration, etc. The food, service and live music were all great! I look forward to going back."

  • "I have dined at the most of the 5 star restaurants here in Dallas. I went on line and read the reviews about Nola's and reviewed the menu and thought it looked appealing. I was mentioning at work that my fiance' and I had reservations and one of my coworkers mentioned that the food was great. We had reservations (strongly recommended). Steve was our server and he was exceptional. He knew it was our first time in and guided us every step of the way. I had the most delicious She Crab Soup and my fiance' had the Duck and Sausage Gumbo and both had depth of flavor and seasoning was perfect. Then, I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and they were out of this world. We will for sure be back!!! Excellent execution and we can't wait to go back!!!"

  • "It was ok. The She Crab Soup was great. But entrée wasn't worth the price. The jazz band was ok as well."

  • "First visit to this new restaurant will probably be my last. I really wanted to like NOLA, but the experience was negative from the time I walked in the door. The hostess didn't speak, didn't acknowledge my presence until I told her I had a reservation. She showed us to a table without a word or smile. The menu is small and pricey. I ordered the jazzy seafood pasta with shrimp. I found 5 very small pieces of shrimp among the spiral macaroni. The flavor wasn't horrible, but not worth returning for. Our waiter disappeared forever and left us with empty glasses and dirty dishes in front of us. Certainly not the dining experience I was hoping for."

  • "We have been wanting to try Nola since we moved to Frisco. We had some relatives in from out of state and chose to go to Nola with them for a special night out. We were so pleased with our experience and our family members were blown away. There was a large party there, so it was kind of busy and loud, but we were still able to have a very intimite experience. The food was the best and we really had a good sampling of the menu. The wine and desert was great too. We highly recommend it and if you go ask for Lance as your server."

  • "The restaurant is relatively new, however the food was amazing. I had the fried gator bites, blackened mozzarella salad, redfish étouffée with bread pudding for desert. The gator bites and étouffée were delicious, however the bread pudding was astounding. I would definitely recommend going there."

  • "I took my husband to your restaurant for the first time this weekend for lunch to celebrate his 50th Birthday. We were impressed from the moment we walked in the door, the service was incredible, Mindy did a wonderful job, she was friendly, fun but not over the top. The food was wonderful, we had oysters on the half shell, fried oysters, soup and the Eggs Benedict Special followed by dessert. We would highly recommend this restaurant to all we meet. I actually gave you a plug on my FB page since we took pics. Thank you again we will be back soon!"

  • "My first visit was great but second visit was good but not great. Probably because first visit was on a Wednesday night and second visit was on a Saturday night. Took the waiter some time to greet us. Fried green tomatoes were a bit bland the second time around. The pork chop was not cooked well enough the second time around. The coke was too syrupy and not fizzy enough. Would go back but not on a busy night."

  • "The service started off on the wrong foot due to a delay in greeting us at the table and taking our drink order. However, she made up for it with a smile and good service after the initial delay. I could only give the Food 3 stars because our calamari appetizer was not very good. The entrees were excellent, so the night was no a total loss."

  • "Our evening spent dining at NOLA could have only been better with less noise. We let our waiter help us with our entre selections and he did a wonderful job. The duck and sausage gumbo was as good as it gets!! The spouse and I chose different entres and shared. Both were excellent!! We will be back!!"

  • "First time to dine at Nola grill. Limited menu ... Would have liked to see a fish chef specialty for the day. The special was a Pork tenderloin. Saw another table order it- looked delicious! Chose the crab cakes. The best I've eaten and I make them At home often. Divine sauce surrounding them along with asparagus and grits. I was trying to avoid carbs but couldn't resist The grits n sauce! Others at our table at the duck and the trout dishes - also delicious. Beautiful presentation of food! Great service! Try this gem - you won't be disappointed! We will be back!"

  • "We went for the 2nd time after we were stunned by the quality and the portion/ sizes of oysters. We had to learn the hard way that our 2nd visit was not as enjoyable. The oysters were very small and I had ordered the blackfish which was totally over cooked. Hope that this will not happen again since we really enjoyed that place the first time we went"

  • "Very romantic. My boyfriend & I had a great time. The food was great & very New Orleans authentic. His straka was cooked perfectly. My fish was fantastic. Great use of spices. We'll definitely be going there again. Also, the presentation was fabulous! Overall we were very happy with our meal."

  • "Frisco Square has always been missing something and I'm happy to say it has found it! Nola Grill was a pleasant surprise in a place where restaurants open and close before you can say, "Bon Appetite!" It was very crowded when we arrived but with the indoor/outdoor bar we were able to enjoy a cocktail prior to be seated for our reservation. With it being Valentine's Day weekend, the staff was overly attentive and made us feel like we were VIPs. We started with the fried calamari and the she crab soup. Both excellent: calamari was fried, but light and flavorful and the soup was rich and just the right amount. I had the NY Strip and aside from a few fatty pieces, it was cooked and seasoned perfectly with a great accompaniment of sides."

  • "This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The food was very high quality and prepared exactly as we requested. This was a special menu for Valentines Day -- four courses, which we wouldn't normally order, but gave a chance to try the bread pudding, which was awesome. The ambiance was very nice, it's not too big, and the servers were very attentive without being obtrusive. The outdoor area looked nice, but it was a little cold the night we were there. We plan to go back to try the full menu, and try the outdoor patio."

  • "Waiter was very nice although he did miss a couple of drink orders and a condiment request. Hostesses seemed very snooty and never cracked a smile. Very pricey. On a scale of 1 to 10, the filet mignon I had was a 5. The fish my wife had was very good, an 8. Wanted to try it since it replaced a restaurant that we really enjoyed - Josephine's Italian Bistro. Only 5 or so Cabernets on the wine list - $65, $75 and then the rest were well over $100. Others may enjoy but we will not be going back."

  • "A friend recommended so I went for lunch. Outstanding meal, The lunch menu is reasonable and a lot of fun. PoBoys are fantastic. Loved the feel of the place and we were done in less than 35 minutes. Went back for dinner on Saturday and was very impressed. My wife was not excited about the choice, but John the GM? rescued me. He charmed my wife and scored big by recommending crab cakes and a nice wine for her. She loved it and the attention. Our server was very pleasant and from our seat we could peak into the kitchen and watch the Chef work which was pretty cool. Nola has great upscale service and food but is not stodgy or arrogant. They do it right. We will definitely go back."

  • "I have lunched now at NOLA three times... This last time, Steve (my server) was extremely helpful in picking a perfect by-the-glass wine for me. And he added special instructions to the chef to make my bread boulle "extra saucy". Steve continually asked me for feedback and tole me that "they need customer feedback to continually improve" on their already amazing menu. He made me feel like my opinion really mattered. And he paid attention to little details. My lunch was very enjoyable and I totally recommend the duck and andouille sausage bread boulle."

  • "We actually enjoyed this restaurant so much, we went 2 weekends in a row and are planning to go on Valentine's day. The food was great and it was unique. The service was great also! I noticed the manager talking to every table carrying out food. I was very impressed."

  • "The traditional Louisiana fare is great but that's not why we keep going back. Nola has the best steaks and best seafood in Frisco, and the people are terrific. We could not keep our reservation because the movie started earlier than we thought. John, the General Manager, recognized us from our last time in. He offered to hold our reservation and then just kept going out of his way to make our evening great. Upon our return, he made room for us at the bar (our preferred seating) and he and Alisa the bartender doted on us all night. The first couple times I went to this restaurant, there were some growing issues. Those days are definitely behind them. Nola Grill is pitch perfect and a real (and much needed) rising star in this community"

  • "Not at all impressed with the restaurant. I felt like the menu was short and lacked options. My wife order a steak and it wasn't coked right. Just really disappointed with the overall experience. Overall I would say I would not recommend this restaurant to any else."

  • "Had a business lunch at NOLA due to location convenience - what a GREAT decision! My associate and I were easily able to collaborate (noise level was perfect); had wifi for iPad connectivity; the waiter was attentive, but not over-bearing (so we could work while we ate). Our waiter recommended the duck & andouille sausage bread bowl gumbo - and his opinion was SPOT-ON! I loved it and am going back today for more! The flavors blended together perfectly. Would like to try NOLA for a romantic dinner, as the ambiance at lunch leads me to believe it would be a great romantic dinner as well. GREAT addition to Frisco Square!"

  • "We loved everything we ate here. We had the fried green tomato and shrimp roumalade which was delicious and had a nice kick in the batter and sauce. Next we shared the smoked mozzarella and tomato salad. Mozzarella and basaltic was out of this world. Tomatoes were just ok (maybe because they aren't in season! I had crawfish pasta and it had a nice kick and great creamy flavor. My husband had blackened salmon special and it was great too. We will definitely be back to try other things here!"

  • "The atmosphere and service were good, but the food left a lot to be desired. It was overpriced for the quality, my wife and I agreed that we should have just made the drive into Plano and done to Papadeauxs. My wifes pasta dish had so much sauce on it that it looked like soup, the beer on tap was flat, overcooked calamari, and the crawfish etouffe was more like a brown soup with a few crawfish in it. We will not be going back and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone we like."

  • "Second time visit; wasn't crowded so we got seated right away with our reservation which was nice. The food was very good as was the first visit. The only issue was the wine list and service. There were a few bottles on the list that were not available and then the one we ordered, based on the waitress's recommendation and that wasn't on the list, wasn't available so the waitress brought a bottle of something similar for same price. It wasn't bad wine but it wasn't terrific or even very good; just so so. Our experience was overall good but we expected better service."

  • "I had made reservations and our party of four arrived on time. Right away we could tell there were a lot of people waiting for tables. After about 15 minutes we were seated and given menus. Our waiter came by about 15 minutes after that and told us his name and he would bring us some water right away. It was another 15 minutes before he brought the water. And thus began a series of late Items brought to the table. We had wine and other drinks and, appetizers, entrees and dessert. Dessert was brought about 20 minutes after we ordered. I know it's new 5 months in Frisco but come on your service bugs should be worked our by now."

  • "Overall I enjoy eating a Nola. My only real complaint is with ordering wine. I have eaten there three times. Each time they have been out of my first choice for a bottle of wine. My choice was different each time. Two times they were out of my first two choices. Their wine list is actually okay. Unfortunately they don't keep the wines on their list in stock."

  • "First time trying Nola Grill and we really enjoyed it! I had the blackened fish and shrimp creole for lunch.....it was very good! My boyfriend had the Uptown plate and loved the flavor. The only down side was that there are only two shrimp with the fish. one was a good size and one was pretty small. It would be great if they would consider having that plate with 5 shrimp. the atmosphere/decor was very nice and reminded me of a New Orleans restaurant. I go there yearly. Our waiter was personable and pleasant. We will definitely go back."
