  • "My wife and I stayed at the Omni in LA (where Noe is located) with plans for theater the next evening. After a long day, it was nice to simply stay in the hotel for dinner. What a pleasant surprise to find such a nice gem of a restaurant with great food and outstanding service. In fact, the service from all staff at the Omni is exceptional - making this a great dining destination for everyone (not just hotel guests). The menu was seasonal and creative. Great choice for a romantic dinner."

  • "We had made reservations for 5 pm. We were promptly seated. It appeared to be a very slow dinner time since there were not many people there. It took a V E R Y L O N G time for our meal to come out. Didn't understand why."

  • "I had my birthday dinner here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes good food and a nice quiet place to enjoy it with good company. The service was great and the food was very good. What I really appreciate about this place that it was not too noise so I could enjoy nice conversation with my friends as we are eating dinner. Also it was just a very relaxing but chic place to have dinner."

  • "Noe is a perfect place for a relaxing dinner before attending the opera or other event at the Music Center. Service is great, food and wine are always top-notch----and you can hear yourself think!! At least in the early evening hours before performances. Maybe it gets noisier later in the evening."

  • "Noe always has many interesting choices that are very tempting. It is quiet enough to talk with just a piano in the background. A lovely experience."

  • "The service & food were very good. The wine list was nice and reasonably priced. We attend the opera & the walk over was easy. We're not sure when the restaurant started but it's time for a face lift. The tablecloths were faded, the seats sank when we sat down & the floor had that concrete stained look. The ambience was not conducive to enjoying a nice meal. All that said, we would return. BTW, I asked for another chair to sit in & the next party that came in also had a problem with the sinking chairs."

  • "This is a very nice hotel restaurant, with typical hotel-restaurant prices. Somewhat small portions, but delicious. Excellent service; I was by myself and asked for a table with good light for reading, and they were happy to help. The waiter also stopped by to let me know that my dessert would take a little longer and ask if that was OK. Easy walk to the Music Center, that's why I chose it."

  • "Excellent food and service. A great choice for dinner before a performance at Disney Hall."

  • "The quantity and quality of food served was disappointing. This had been over the years one of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, but now it seems to be good, but not special."

  • "Had a romantic birthday dinner at Noe. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The duck potatoes were so tasty. I loved how the bread came out fresh and not in loaf form. The coffee to top it off at the end of the meal was perfect."

  • "The Omni Hotel offers a price fixe three course dinner for a substantial discount when you book a room online. We were coming into LA to go to the Disney Concert Hall and were going to stay overnight at the Omni. I saw the offer and decided to try it. A choice two starters, two entrees and w o desert were on the menu. Our waiter offered a third entree. My wife started with a roasted beet and citrus salad, grilled salmon (the extra entree) and a chocolate desert. All was quite good and beautifully presented. I had cauliflower soup, Ahi and banana cake with vanilla ice cream. The soup was very good, the Ahi done rare but not much flavor. The cake and ice cream were as expected...good. With the discount, well worth it. I will return."

  • "The food was very good, but not spectacular nor memorable. The service mediocre -- the server could not remember one of the two wine orders. The main course arrived well before the fresh tableware. The table was terrible -- in a dark corner away from a window with a spotlight aimed at one seat (MY seat) and not the center table. I was unpleasantly backlit for the entire meal. Sorry to say that I can't recommend Noe."

  • "Dinner at NOE was a excellent!! From the moment we checked in, I already knew we were in for a lovely dining experience. The service was top notch. The setting was very quiet and romantic. Lastly, the food was delicious. After dinner, we requested our dessert be served in the patio area where we were provided with a an awesome lounge chair with our own firepit lounge table to relax and finish our our meal under the beautiful L.A.stars. Definitely will be returning in the future!"

  • "The NOE is excellent, but I wish there had been more vegan dishes available--no meat and no dairy. Also, a good dessert choice is a fruit cup or berries, not on the menu. The vegetarian offering was combined with cheese--not my style. The yams and veggies were too buttery and oily. Steamed or water sauté would have been better."

  • "The tasting menu is a real bargain. Very good. 1st course:choice of a fantastic potato leak soup or an elegant beet salad made with goat cheese (could have used a bit of dressing) Main:choice of Ahi, chicken breast, or veggie entree. Ahi was nice, but a bit bland (slices resting in a green potato mash). Chicken breast was OK; mashed root veggies--nice if a bit boring. Chocolate desert is so everywhere--but this one is tops--crust and the cheesecake with crushed nuts. Rolls were too sweet and ordinary (yes, some folks like sweet) All served in an elegant, understated manner. Lovely setting--with pianist, a knock-out in good weather."

  • "We were in LA for one night and stayed at the Omni...NOE was a nice surprise. We loved the appetizers and thought the dinner was above average, perhaps a little too salty on the salmon. We had a credit so we ate for free which made everything that much better but I would recommend this place to friends. Enjoy."

  • "Noe has a new chef and a new menu. The changes have been good. The portions are much larger and the cooking is solid. This is a fantastic place to go for an occasion or as a wonderful place to eat before going across the street to the music center."

  • "We had chosen this restaurant based on the reviews for great food and romantic ambiance. We were let down on both accounts .The menu was VERY limited for being situated in the Omni hotel. I ordered the ribeye which reminded me of a Denny's steak when it came out. My wife's scallops were underdone. The only memorable part of the meal was the steak frites cooked briefly in duck fat. The interior should never have been categorized as the most romantic restaurant in L.A. If it is, I can only say that for transplanted New Yorkers, Los Angeles will always be a third rate culinary destination."

  • "There are some great restaurants downtown-Patina, Cicada, etc. Some of them are booked ahead of time, especially for pre-theater dinner. Noe is a good 2nd choice when you can't get in to the others. They have an appealing menu, not quite at the top end foodie level, but you can tell that they are trying-tasty and pretty creative Attentive, friendly service-definitely professional and not stiff. The food was good with a nicely varied choice of dishes. There weren't a lot of diners on a Saturday night, so it was fairly quiet. The bar/lounge looks mellow; an intimate spot that would be good for a few hours. A quality pianist playing light jazz."

  • "This was our first time at Noe. We were pleasantly surprised. We loved the scallops, the rolls, the salmon, the bouillabaisse, and our dessert. We also liked the variety in the wine list. My husband spied a humidor and a patio seating area that he'd like to try for next time. We will definitely be back for a future visit."

  • "Noe is within walking distance of the Dorothy Chandler which makes it perfect for a pre-theatre dinner. The servers were very attentive but not intrusive. The scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly. The yellowfin tuna was very tasty but I preferred the scallops. My companion had the pre-fix menu which included a rock shrimp cocktail that was delicious. The entree dish salmon was cooked just right. The chimay beer ice cream was interesting but a bit too sweet. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and I will return again only because it is so convenient location-wise."

  • "Restaurant chosen initially on basis of proximity to Dorothy Chandler as a pre-opera dinner venue. Delightfully pleased to find very good food and impeccable service. Nor overpoweringly large portions, excellent wine by the glass, and real coffee for a change - a rarity in LA. Quiet, romantic with impressive vistas of tall, nearby buildings. Menu somewhat narrow in number of selections and types of main courses, but the cream soups are phenomenal. Would recommend this less than well known dining experience."

  • "Very nice atmosphere. Dim lights at night, attentive service and food that is very, very good. Perfect if you are going to Disney Hall for a concert as it's right across the street. Very nice bar atmosphere, too, with a club style piano player and a fireplace."

  • "Apparently Noe changed it's menu and it's now Japanese/American. The food was dreadful and I'm hard put to find the "Japanese" in what we were served. I ordered butternut squash soup and it definitely had a cinnamon/nutmeg vibe that landed on the sweet side. It was so pureed, it was like scooping up water than soup. No body to it, at all. My "vintage" rib eye was really vintage: very tough and unevenly cooked. The sides were so hard they were crusty and the center was chewy, I asked for medium and every bite was different - some medium, some almost raw. It was covered by an overly sweet sauce of some sort. The waiter was also absent most of the dinner, so we couldn't send anything back. I would never recommend this place to anyone."

  • "There is a new chef at Noe and slowly but surely the menu is changing. The wine list and the wine service are first rate . This is a wonderful downtown restaurant. Its especially fine if you are going before an event at Disney Hall or the music center, as its a 5 minute walk and they will hold your car until after your event."

  • "The restaurant is inside the Omni hotel itself, and the ambiance is fantastic. I usually don't like hotel restaurants, but the Noe had exceptional mood lighting, a comfortable "small restaurant" feel in multiple rooms, a decent menu and a unique view of the street that had a bit of an East coast feel for me. The whole ambiance was a surprise. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, and we made a reservation prior to going a play at the music center. The waitress was attentive to our time schedule, which was also a plus."

  • "Very good spot for dinner before concerts at Disney Hall. Delicious food, exceptional service, lovely skyline views where we sat. Fish was cooked to perfection, nice wine list with reasonably priced choices and oh those desserts! The panna cotta and chocolate cheesecake were two favorites. 1.5 block walk to Disney Hall, less than 10 minutes, and you are there. Double fun evening."

  • "Noe Restaurant offers pleasant service and a calm ambience. The bar right next door is city-sophisticated and busy, does not detract from the conversation-promoting quiet at the restaurant. Service is very competent, and the food presentation quite nice."

  • "Noe makes a pleasant change from the more obvious choices which are closer to the Disney Hall and Chandler Pavilion. I have marked it down on the service as (1) initially we were brought the wrong starters (2) when the correct ones arrived they were served the wrong way round and (3) for both courses the waiter cleared away plates before we'd both finished eating."

  • "Our first time here. We enjoyed the non complicated menu with a few twists which provided excellently prepared food. Salads were tasty and perfect as were the entrees. Close to Disney Hall and the perfect spot for an early dinner before a concert or a drink at the live piano bar before or after. Relaxing music provides a nice background for conversation. We will definitely be returning!"

  • "A gem!Even though it's a hotel restaurant, it's one of the best, and most pleasant, downtown. And IT'S QUIET. Food and wine were superb, and the service outstanding. We parked in the business garage by mistake, and the woman at the desk found us an Omni employee discount card that saved us about $10. And then the matre-d noticed that I had put my had on the floor next the table and he brought over another chair just for my hat. That's attentive service. Could not recommend more. Only small problem was that when I called the front desk of the hotel to enquire if they had shuttle service to the music center, they said yes, but it turns out it's only for hotel guests. But no matter, it's only about a 3 block walk."

  • "Easy walk to Music Center theaters. We were seated immediately. Everyone was attentive and pleasant. We decided to order two starters each. We were presented with rolls and an "amuse bouche" - a tiny cone filled with tuna tartar. Delicious. I had the roasted artichoke and asparagus salad. Surprised that the asparagus and artichokes were hiding under the lettuce. The salad tasted good, but not that special. My husband had the Tuna Sashimi, which was excellent. We both had the Sautéed Sea Scallops with Sweet Corn Polenta Ravioli. Very nicely done. The waiter offered us an entree sized portion, but we stayed with the starter size. Excellent desserts finished our meal.. Price typical of better restaurants in downtown area. Loved the quiet room."
