Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed dining on the quiet patio on a balmy summer evening. Service was friendly and accommodating, and food was delicious, from chilled pea soup or perfectly seared scallops as starters, through home-made ice cream desserts. The comfy piano bar lounge is good for meeting with friends before or after a performance at the Music Center."

  • "My wife and I stayed in the hotel and felt like a quiet meal to ourselves. The sashimi appetizer was excellent as was the bouillabaisse. My wife enjoyed the three course chef's menu of short ribs. Service and food were above our expectations. We'll be back."

  • "I great hopes for the restaurant based on online reviews I read. The setting is great, as is the service. The food was okay and very costly. The dinner cost as much as the cost of our hotel room. We only had two glasses of wine, the rest was for just the salads and entre. Maybe we made the wrong choice (rib eye steak) and should have gone with the small plate suggestions. The service and looking out at the patio were the best things about the experience"

  • "Just chose this place on a whim while we were waiting for the fireworks show. Great food and professional friendly service. Outdoor patio looked like a cool place to be."

  • "This is where we go before the Opera, because the location is ideal. We always have good service and the food is fresh and well-prepared. At the times we go, around 5:30, the dining rooms are usually not too loud. "

  • "My wife and I have dined here on several different occasions and have enjoyed it each time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to go to a restaurant where the both the service and the food are great."

  • "Noe has excellent food, very well presented. Noe charges Ritz prices in a Holiday Inn dining room. The tableclothes are magenta polyester with canning glasses used as candle holders. The dining room is "worn" with uncomfortable chairs and "distressed" furnishing."

  • "The service was wonderful! The host even helped us find out of there was a shuttle to the opera house. "

  • "Sat outside for a light dinner, seated on comfy couches and near a fire pit (these weren't on as it was over 90 outside!) Service was exceptional. Food could be ordered from the shorter bar menu or the full dinner menu. Neat view as we're seated amongst the tall, mirrored glass buildings & the MOCA building. We've sat outside before at night with the fire pits lit. Fun evening."

  • "Lovely dinner at Noe. Food was really outstanding. Service also professional and appreciated. We are frequent diners at Noe when we stay at the Omni in LA, so were pleased to have the new chef introduce himself and present our entrees. View is neat as we sit among the great tall downtown buildings and the contemporary museum next door."

  • "My wife and I had the most wonderful dinner that was absolutely perfect for celebrating her birthday and Motner's Day. The menu is unique, and the prices are very reasonable. "

  • "Before a performance of the LA Phil., we dined at Noe and had a thoroughly delightful experience, with delicously prepared food, terrific service, and a good selection of wines. The menu options range from modestly priced choices to a few higher end items, but overall the Noe offers good value and an attractive venue. The bar also has a good menu for small dishes to accompany drinks. The calamari was perfectly prepared, tender with a very light crust. While the Noe is a perfect pre-theater selection, it is clearly more than a convenience and is worth enjoying on any occassion."

  • "We stayed at the Omni, so visiting Noe was a no-brainier, due to its excellent reviews. We enjoyed our experience in general, even though our server was a little " stiff" --perhaps he was having a bad day, or perhaps he's just overly bashful. Anyhow, our overall experience was definitely positive, and we would done there again."

  • "We had a delicious meal at the Noe this weekend, but the chairs are really really uncomfortable. So much so we chose to take dessert back to our room!!"

  • "Had dinner here before a show, great spot. We were not staying at the hotel and they still offered to drive us to the show in the hotel car. "

  • "I just returned from Paris and Holland where they have very good seafood and Noe beats them all. My wife and I had the scallops and salmon. Both dishes were cooked perfectly, both dishes were fresh and seasoned to perfection. The salmon was so tender that it felt like the food was melting in our mouths. This dish even beats the salmon that I have had in Seattle and Alaska! It was that good! Proximity to the Music Center makes it an ideal place to have dinner before a performance. The ambience was good and the decor could us a little updating, but once you taste the food nothing else matters. "

  • "One of the few places in downtown LA where people can meet for excellent food, creative vintage cocktails, and actual conversation -- not drummed out by blaring music, the clamor of plates or the chatter of fellow diners seated too close. This place is a refuge for those who actually wish to speak to and be heard by their dinner companions."

  • "My friend and I ate before going to the Ahmanson. Noe was a great find. Interesting menu, well prepared, attentive service and QUIET. It is possible to have a conversation! The menu is seasonal and we can't wait to see what is next."

  • "My wife and I stayed at the Omni in LA (where Noe is located) with plans for theater the next evening. After a long day, it was nice to simply stay in the hotel for dinner. What a pleasant surprise to find such a nice gem of a restaurant with great food and outstanding service. In fact, the service from all staff at the Omni is exceptional - making this a great dining destination for everyone (not just hotel guests). The menu was seasonal and creative. Great choice for a romantic dinner."

  • "We had made reservations for 5 pm. We were promptly seated. It appeared to be a very slow dinner time since there were not many people there. It took a V E R Y L O N G time for our meal to come out. Didn't understand why."

  • "I had my birthday dinner here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes good food and a nice quiet place to enjoy it with good company. The service was great and the food was very good. What I really appreciate about this place that it was not too noise so I could enjoy nice conversation with my friends as we are eating dinner. Also it was just a very relaxing but chic place to have dinner."

  • "Noe is a perfect place for a relaxing dinner before attending the opera or other event at the Music Center. Service is great, food and wine are always top-notch----and you can hear yourself think!! At least in the early evening hours before performances. Maybe it gets noisier later in the evening."

  • "Noe always has many interesting choices that are very tempting. It is quiet enough to talk with just a piano in the background. A lovely experience."

  • "The service & food were very good. The wine list was nice and reasonably priced. We attend the opera & the walk over was easy. We're not sure when the restaurant started but it's time for a face lift. The tablecloths were faded, the seats sank when we sat down & the floor had that concrete stained look. The ambience was not conducive to enjoying a nice meal. All that said, we would return. BTW, I asked for another chair to sit in & the next party that came in also had a problem with the sinking chairs."

  • "This is a very nice hotel restaurant, with typical hotel-restaurant prices. Somewhat small portions, but delicious. Excellent service; I was by myself and asked for a table with good light for reading, and they were happy to help. The waiter also stopped by to let me know that my dessert would take a little longer and ask if that was OK. Easy walk to the Music Center, that's why I chose it."

  • "The quantity and quality of food served was disappointing. This had been over the years one of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, but now it seems to be good, but not special."

  • "Had a romantic birthday dinner at Noe. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The duck potatoes were so tasty. I loved how the bread came out fresh and not in loaf form. The coffee to top it off at the end of the meal was perfect."

  • "The Omni Hotel offers a price fixe three course dinner for a substantial discount when you book a room online. We were coming into LA to go to the Disney Concert Hall and were going to stay overnight at the Omni. I saw the offer and decided to try it. A choice two starters, two entrees and w o desert were on the menu. Our waiter offered a third entree. My wife started with a roasted beet and citrus salad, grilled salmon (the extra entree) and a chocolate desert. All was quite good and beautifully presented. I had cauliflower soup, Ahi and banana cake with vanilla ice cream. The soup was very good, the Ahi done rare but not much flavor. The cake and ice cream were as expected...good. With the discount, well worth it. I will return."

  • "The food was very good, but not spectacular nor memorable. The service mediocre -- the server could not remember one of the two wine orders. The main course arrived well before the fresh tableware. The table was terrible -- in a dark corner away from a window with a spotlight aimed at one seat (MY seat) and not the center table. I was unpleasantly backlit for the entire meal. Sorry to say that I can't recommend Noe."

  • "Dinner at NOE was a excellent!! From the moment we checked in, I already knew we were in for a lovely dining experience. The service was top notch. The setting was very quiet and romantic. Lastly, the food was delicious. After dinner, we requested our dessert be served in the patio area where we were provided with a an awesome lounge chair with our own firepit lounge table to relax and finish our our meal under the beautiful L.A.stars. Definitely will be returning in the future!"

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed the food and the ambient surrounding, It was our Valentine's dinner. Our experiences at the restaurant made us fell in love all over again. Looking forward to going back and order from the regular menu."

  • "The NOE is excellent, but I wish there had been more vegan dishes available--no meat and no dairy. Also, a good dessert choice is a fruit cup or berries, not on the menu. The vegetarian offering was combined with cheese--not my style. The yams and veggies were too buttery and oily. Steamed or water sauté would have been better."

  • "We were in LA for one night and stayed at the Omni...NOE was a nice surprise. We loved the appetizers and thought the dinner was above average, perhaps a little too salty on the salmon. We had a credit so we ate for free which made everything that much better but I would recommend this place to friends. Enjoy."

  • "The tasting menu is a real bargain. Very good. 1st course:choice of a fantastic potato leak soup or an elegant beet salad made with goat cheese (could have used a bit of dressing) Main:choice of Ahi, chicken breast, or veggie entree. Ahi was nice, but a bit bland (slices resting in a green potato mash). Chicken breast was OK; mashed root veggies--nice if a bit boring. Chocolate desert is so everywhere--but this one is tops--crust and the cheesecake with crushed nuts. Rolls were too sweet and ordinary (yes, some folks like sweet) All served in an elegant, understated manner. Lovely setting--with pianist, a knock-out in good weather."

  • "Noe has a new chef and a new menu. The changes have been good. The portions are much larger and the cooking is solid. This is a fantastic place to go for an occasion or as a wonderful place to eat before going across the street to the music center."

  • "We had chosen this restaurant based on the reviews for great food and romantic ambiance. We were let down on both accounts .The menu was VERY limited for being situated in the Omni hotel. I ordered the ribeye which reminded me of a Denny's steak when it came out. My wife's scallops were underdone. The only memorable part of the meal was the steak frites cooked briefly in duck fat. The interior should never have been categorized as the most romantic restaurant in L.A. If it is, I can only say that for transplanted New Yorkers, Los Angeles will always be a third rate culinary destination."

  • "This was our first time at Noe. We were pleasantly surprised. We loved the scallops, the rolls, the salmon, the bouillabaisse, and our dessert. We also liked the variety in the wine list. My husband spied a humidor and a patio seating area that he'd like to try for next time. We will definitely be back for a future visit."
