A word from Nobu New York
Nobu New York, the flagship restaurant of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, has been a pioneer for Japanese cuisine since its opening in 1994. Nobu partnered with restaurateur Drew Nieporent and Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro to bring his modern Japanese food to Tribeca. Drawing upon his classical training at sushi bars in Tokyo and his life abroad in Peru, Argentina, and around the world, Chef Nobu is the innovator of new style Japanese cuisine. The resulting dishes include the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, Tiradito Nobu Style, Lobster with Wasabi Pepper Sauce, and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times and a Michelin star.

Nobu New York's design by architect David Rockwell evokes the beauty of the Japanese countryside with its natural textures, birch trees, wood floors and a wall made of river stones. Energy and excitement pulse through the room, creating a surreal effect.

Had a lovely dinner here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. Nice selection of scotch and whisky, and delicious, creative cocktails. We both got the omakase menu, and were not disappointed. Every dish was thoughtful, beautiful, exquisitely prepared and delicious. The fatty tuna was easily the best I have ever had. Flawless. We will certainly be back.

And it's still as good as the first time. Don't love the welcome at the front desk - they love themselves a lot more than their diners - but that won't keep people from coming back. The food is superb and always delivers. The crispy rice with yellow tail is a foodie's idea of crack. Lots of talent and skill on tap. Again and again and ... always.

Our first visit to Nobu NYC. We went there to celebrate our sons 21st birthday and were talked into going in for for the Nobu experience of the Omakase. No regrets. Each dish was an artistic and gastronomical delight. The seven course meal stretched over two hours. Attentive and prompt service the carefully thought out menu catering to our special requests of no meat, no dairy restrictions made it an awesome experience. Sushi sashimi and the mushroom salad were extraordinary. A $$$$ experience but worth going for the NOBU Omakase experience it al least once!

There were many delightful surprises at Nobu when I tried out their dishes. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was so much fun to eat. And it was interesting to choose from all the variety of tempura selections they had on the menu. I will definitely come back for the black cod with miso!

From the moment we sat down until the minute we left the whole experience was simply amazing. James our server was given free range of what to order for us and he superceded our expectations! The food had a complete umami blend. Paired with a very reasonable price, it left me wishing for a place to open in the Northwest! Bravo Chef Nobu!

Loved the food and ambiance. Though I was shocked that we had a reservation for 10:00pm and that the kitchen closed at 10:15pm and that we we're not informed in advance! Since our taxi driver took the wrong way we arrived 10:10pm and were therefore urged to go to Nobu next door. Two things if you dine at a restaurant like this even though we would've made it for 10:00pm you don't want to be rushed into ordering with a 15 minute timeframe and next to that you don't want to be forced to eat next door. Nevertheless the food was delicious so that made up for this. But I would definitely advise Nobu to inform customers in advance if you have the possibility to reserve at 10pm that you only have such a short time to decide on your meal.

I had been wanting to come to Nobu for awhile, but never found the time on my visits to NYC. So when me and my better half we went to celebrate both our 10 year anniversery The Food it was so-so. If I could redo it I would have selected a different restaurant All and all my high expectations for Nobu weren't met. I'd give this place 2.5 stars for the taste of the drinks, the Food and our nice waiter. This not like the one in London Were the Food & cocktails are more up to date The prices doesnt match the quality of the Food & drinks

In spite of knowing the subsidiary of london, had not programed in my few days in New York, a lunch in this restaurant. I and some friends went to this restaurant because of a recommendation. Nobu provides a great dining experience, aligning the Japanese culinary and Peruvian, two of the best in the world. I opted for the chef's choice which costs less than $100 (10 dishes, including the dessert). A memorable lunch. Highly recommend.

The service was awful. I gave the waitress my list of allergies. She said no substitutions and no modifications; all the sauces are prepared in advance. She would not even consult the kitchen; she told me what she thinks I could order. I ordered an entrée. There was an issue my wife's order, so she changed it to a sashimi dinner. I told the waitress that I would like an unagi sushi also. My wife received her meal, and I received an unagi sushi. Dessert menus arrived. I did not receive my entrée. The waitress said I didn't order anything else. We left. Nobu is OVERRATED. Food is not made to order, but in advance. Chef's have no creativity; they apparently follow the cookbook step by step, therefore no modifications and no substitutions.

I have experienced on several occasions many Nobu´s restaurants, from Matsuhisa in Aspen (Co, USA), through several others (Las Vegas, London, Miami) and especially that of NYC. This Tribeca restaurant have always been the best experience. The food is original, very tasty, the service is friendly and very effective, and even being an expensive restaurant can eat very well with a glass of wine at a fair value.

We went to nobu for the first time because our friends referred us, it was for my wife's birthday and also for our 25th wedding anniversary, we could only get a reservation for 11:00pm, we were so hungry and we got there at 10:40pm, the front desk lady offered us to sit at the sushi table. We ordered omakase for both of us, the dishes were a little bit salty and the negiri did not impress us, because there were No special pieces of fish, there were only tuna, salmon and yellowtail. Maybe we expected a lot.

The food and service was amazing. We couldn't have asked for anything better. However the decor and ambiance could use a bit of an update. I realize it's the original Nobu location and there's some charm there but we dined towards the back where it's carpeted and somewhat separated by a decorative wall. In comparison to the 57th St location this one felt a little like a hotel which was further emphasized by the hypnotic elevator music which was on repeat. I would strongly recommend requesting to be seating in the front of the restaurant. Apart from that, the food was incredible and the service was impeccable.

Lunched at Nobu Tribeca as visitors from New Zealand. We liked the vibe and the décor and the list of dishes was extensive. Our waitperson was attentive and even sorted out a special vegetarian dish for one of our party. Seemed reasonable value for the fixed price lunch. We also liked it that we were made to feel welcome and could feel comfortable dressed in the more casual clothes that we had travelled in. Nobu was everything we expected and we could recommend it highly to other diners looking for a Japanese style meal in the area.
