A word from Nobu New York
Nobu New York, the flagship restaurant of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, has been a pioneer for Japanese cuisine since its opening in 1994. Nobu partnered with restaurateur Drew Nieporent and Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro to bring his modern Japanese food to Tribeca. Drawing upon his classical training at sushi bars in Tokyo and his life abroad in Peru, Argentina, and around the world, Chef Nobu is the innovator of new style Japanese cuisine. The resulting dishes include the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, Tiradito Nobu Style, Lobster with Wasabi Pepper Sauce, and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times and a Michelin star.

Nobu New York's design by architect David Rockwell evokes the beauty of the Japanese countryside with its natural textures, birch trees, wood floors and a wall made of river stones. Energy and excitement pulse through the room, creating a surreal effect.

First - really know the address the restaurante has not a single display outside. Good ambience, nice place, the employees are helpful and the wait time is OK. The food is good, but doesn't justify the overrated prices !

I've been to many Nobu restaurants, but this one was really the first one that turned me down. Food was very good as always, but service was incredibly bad. Even though I had reserved my table through opentable and got there on time, my table was ready about 45 minutes late. Once at the table, you'd almost have to beg to talk to any waiters. Anyway, not the kind of service/treatment I have always had in other Nobus.

So disappointed! This place is overrated! The price is too high for the service, the food and portion they provide. At least, the tuna tataki was excellent. The sushi dinner was not good. All the sushi tasted the same thing: wasabi!!! The tempura dinner is disppointed for $32! you only have 4 pieces of shrimp and 10 pieces of vegetables... I definetly not recommend that place and I'll never go back there. Go somewhere else.

The cold dishes are great, very flavorful. recommend the tartar and the spinach salad. For the hot dish, We had the rock tempera shrimp and black cod. The source over powers whatever taste the fish has, and both dishes are too salty.

We visit NYC two or three times a year. With the abundance of great restaurants we almost never eat at the same place twice unless we are really wowed. Nobu is a wow for us! We eat there every time we visit. We have dined in both Nobu NY and Nobu next door. We love them both, i think Nobu next door has a younger livelier vibe, while Nobu is quieter and more intimate setting. The food is amazing, fresh, tasty, and beautifully prepared. The oyster shooters were a big hit on our last visit. The black cod with miso is a must every time. Although it can get a bit pricey, we look at it as a special splurge. Wait staff always yop notch. Great wine selection and a delicious grapefruit martini. Can't wait for our next visit.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Nobu! The server was lovely - very attentive without being pushy. The cocktails were delicious - Kiwi Mule was a favorite. The food was incredible - we started with 5 dishes and enjoyed them so much, we ordered 3 more. If I had to pick, the New Style Sashimi, Rock Shrimp and the Washu Beef Gyoza Nobu Style were our favorites. The timing of the plates was perfect - they came out one at a time with a short break in between. Everything that was supposed to be hot, was served piping hot. We wouldn't have changed anything about our experience.

first time to Nobu. Unfortunately we accepted the waiters advice to get the $65 bento boxes instead of ordering sushi a la carte. he warned us that the meat was in a spicy sauce, and we told him we don't eat spicey food and to not put the sauce on; he failed to tell us two other items were also spicy. that meant we couldn't eat 2 out of the six items in the bento box. what we could eat was quite good. the décor was not especially stylish or attractive, and the banquette uncomfortable. I would not return.

Lives up to its reputation. To start, while not extensive, the Sake selection was excellent, and not yo be missed by Sake fans. The waiter was very accommodating, allowing us tastes of several before selecting one. The entire meal was made up of highly creative and well balanced (from a palate and taste perspective) dishes, right down to the desserts. Our waiter was informative and perfectly patient.

Had a lovely dinner here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. Nice selection of scotch and whisky, and delicious, creative cocktails. We both got the omakase menu, and were not disappointed. Every dish was thoughtful, beautiful, exquisitely prepared and delicious. The fatty tuna was easily the best I have ever had. Flawless. We will certainly be back.

And it's still as good as the first time. Don't love the welcome at the front desk - they love themselves a lot more than their diners - but that won't keep people from coming back. The food is superb and always delivers. The crispy rice with yellow tail is a foodie's idea of crack. Lots of talent and skill on tap. Again and again and ... always.

Our first visit to Nobu NYC. We went there to celebrate our sons 21st birthday and were talked into going in for for the Nobu experience of the Omakase. No regrets. Each dish was an artistic and gastronomical delight. The seven course meal stretched over two hours. Attentive and prompt service the carefully thought out menu catering to our special requests of no meat, no dairy restrictions made it an awesome experience. Sushi sashimi and the mushroom salad were extraordinary. A $$$$ experience but worth going for the NOBU Omakase experience it al least once!

Loved the food and ambiance. Though I was shocked that we had a reservation for 10:00pm and that the kitchen closed at 10:15pm and that we we're not informed in advance! Since our taxi driver took the wrong way we arrived 10:10pm and were therefore urged to go to Nobu next door. Two things if you dine at a restaurant like this even though we would've made it for 10:00pm you don't want to be rushed into ordering with a 15 minute timeframe and next to that you don't want to be forced to eat next door. Nevertheless the food was delicious so that made up for this. But I would definitely advise Nobu to inform customers in advance if you have the possibility to reserve at 10pm that you only have such a short time to decide on your meal.

I had been wanting to come to Nobu for awhile, but never found the time on my visits to NYC. So when me and my better half we went to celebrate both our 10 year anniversery The Food it was so-so. If I could redo it I would have selected a different restaurant All and all my high expectations for Nobu weren't met. I'd give this place 2.5 stars for the taste of the drinks, the Food and our nice waiter. This not like the one in London Were the Food & cocktails are more up to date The prices doesnt match the quality of the Food & drinks
