Nobu Miami Beach is the Miami outpost of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's new Japanese cuisine empire. Nobu draws upon his classical training at sushi bars in Tokyo and his life abroad in Peru, Argentina, and around the world to create a whole new trend in Japanese cuisine, bringing a burst of excitement to the already famed scene of Miami Beach.
Nestled in the ultra chic Shore Club, Nobu adds a level of class and sophistication to the legendary nightlife spot. The white curtain enveloped Nobu Lounge is “the place to be seen" where locals, visitors, connoisseurs, and socialites convene. In the dining room Nobu’s signature dishes such as Yellowtail with Jalapeno and Black Cod with Miso are served to throngs of fans, proving that in the end, it is all about the food.

  • "As usual great fresh sushi sashimi. And cooked food as well. Maintains the quality and expectations of the Nobu. I've been to almost all of them. The one criticism about this place is that it's too small for a Nobu so it feels a bit cramped(make sure you get seated at a table adaptor oats for the size of your party, it's insulting to be shoehorned at these prices) and too noisy!! Way above Energetic"

  • "If you like sushi and have discerning taste, do not visit Nobu unless you want to spend $500 or more for tapas sized portions. This was my husband and my second time at Nobu (1st time 3 years ago) and I was disappointed in the experience. While I remember the restaurant having good sushi and being expensive, I was surprised when the portions served were smaller than appetizer sizes (3 oysters for $18) and the Rock Shrimp looked and tasted like it came out of a freezer bag from the grocery store ($24). Not to mention, they wanted $68 for three pieces of toro sashimi. The environment was cramped (we were basically sitting on top of the two couples on either side of us) and the attitude of the servers was luke warm. Not worth the hype."

I was expecting for it to be packed. Not at all. We could have easily gone whenever. Our waiter was great. Good recommendations. Kindness to him was rewarded by two free deserts!"

  • "I love nobu, I've been coming here for years. The food is and continues to be outstanding and delicious. BUT the service has continued to nose dive. Mathis used to be a high point of the restaurant with a large team of servers, food runners, and bussers who were energetic and helpful. It has become a group of unorganized teams and total unprofessionalism. Everything from poor attitudes, cursing on the floor of the restuarnt and even making comments to other staff members about the tables in the restuarnt on the floor."

  • "I had high hopes for this dining experience, after a great experience at Nobu 57 in NYC. However, I was very disappointed. Other than the seafood tasting fresh, the sushi dish selection was not terribly impressive. Our waitress was inattentive, rarely stopping to check in or refresh drinks and after a long wait, bringing the wrong dish. The fire alarm went off, and though I couldn't hear it over the noise (high) of the restaurant, flashing light blinked directly in my eyes for at least 10 minutes. The space is small with tables crammed together. I could not get out to go to the restroom without hitting our neighbors' table and we could hear their full conversation throughout our meal. Not what I expect from a $200 dining experience for 2."

  • "Dined early on a Friday evening in February with 2 other girlfriends. Our first time in Miami, we were told we had to come here. Recent reviews made it sound like it was too hyped. However, we found the food to be amazingly delicious, and the hotel was beautiful, although too pricey for drinks (welcome to Miami!). While our restaurant food and drinks were absolutely fantastic, we had 2 drawbacks: 1) the tables were SO crammed in there, that we could hardly fit between our table and the table next to us to get up to use the restroom (and we're not large ladies); and 2) we were seated RIGHT next to the waitstand, where every single waitstaff lined up and jostled around to get their orders entered in to the system, bumping in to us constantly!"

  • "The total bill was $200 for two people. My wife had one cocktail drink; I had none. No wine with dinner. No desert. We each had two dishes. I had shrimp for $36. There were four tiny shrimp in their shells. They were tasty but not special. I also had yellow tail with jalapeno. There were about a dozen razor thin slices of yellow tail. Also tasty but not oputstanding. I left the restaurant still hungry. If we had spent $400, the quantity of food might have been enough but in my view there is nothing so special about this restaurant to spend so much. South Beach is filled with top restaurants. For $100 to $150 for two people, you can have drinks, wine and a delicious dinner including desert.."

Unfortunately, it was not what I remembered. Besides the rock shrimp (which they are known for) the rest of the food was just 'okay'. And the service was hit or miss. The decor in the dining room (where they had us seated until we changed our minds) was outdated (lights super bright) and the crowd was all elderly and families (at 8 pm on a Saturday night). Overall, it was fine but there are so many other chic and fabulous places to dine in Miami at this price point (expensive, may I add!) that I will not be back."

  • "This place is absolutely amazing. The service is fantastic and the food cannot be beat. The flavors of every dish we ate were like fireworks going off in our mouths. You must try the Miso Cod and the Rock Shrimp. We come here every time we are in Miami and it never disappoints. We put notes in the special requests section that we were there celebrating our anniversary and they actually read them (a first from a reservation made on Open Table). They gave us a special table and comped dessert We will certainly be coming back here every chance we get. Thank you Nobu for making our night so special!"

  • "A friend and I had a light meal and wine at Nobu Miami Beach while visiting the area. I had to try sushi here, so had a salmon roll and a California roll, which both tasted fresh. I also ordered the edamame, which as an edamame fan I was pleased to see in a very different form. The edamame were taken out of the shell and combined with corn kernels and lightly cooked tempura-style. So good. Then, my friend had a sort of teryaki style egglant. We each had wine. Wait staff was attentive and helpful in explaining the menu. A lovely time!"

  • "Expensive? Yes. AMAZING? Yes. Yes. Yes. The sushi and raw selections were exceptional. If I went back I'd skip the mains and entrees and just stick to the sushi and raw. Had the black cod for instance: was delicious, but I wish I'd spent that money on more sushi. The service was outstanding and the waiter really helped us curate the meal, making suggestions about what we were ordering and then once we'd placed our whole order, suggested some alterations and substitutions that would provide more variation and better experience. Can't wait to go back."
