The ambiance is fantastic and the food is superb. The menu is full of so many amazing choices you don't know where to begin. That's where you can put it in the hands of the staff. You can request a budget (keep in mind your in a five star restaurant...so it will be very pricey) and the staff will hand pick a menu for you. This restaurant is top notch. Every little thing on your plate tastes amazingly good. Lots of attention is paid to every little thing. You will be pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a somewhat more formal restaurant then it seemed to be, considering the price point.
There was a bunch of tourists there making a lot of noise which I didn't expect and they were not dressed appropriately for a restaurant of this quality (jeans and t-shirts when everyone else was in collared shirts at a minimum) which took away something from the experience as they just didn't fit in with the decor, atmosphere and price point of the place. I had been to Nobu's restaurant in Melbourne, Australia previous and that experience was a more formal one to this.
Food was simply amazing, as expected!! Totally sensational! And that said it all for me!
Will definantly be back!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a safe betI've been to both Nobu's in London, as well as the ones in Vegas, Miami and Cape Town and they are always a safe bet for a great experiential food treat. The service was a touch on the slow side if I'm picky (and I work in the hospitality industry so I am!) but the food was great and so were the cocktails. The bar was very quiet but the barman provided great service and delicious drinks for us based on what we like, rather than the cocktail list.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSame Nobu, Amazing Food & ServiceWe have been to other Nobu restaurants around the country - this LA location had a unique menu with really great service. We ordered completely off menu, our waiter mentioned that the chef offers many dishes to try to differentiate themselves from other Nobu's. We had the panko crusted scallop, their twist on crispy spicy tuna, king crab leg and Toro with Caviar in a wasabi sauce. All were so amazingly good. It was a nice mix between sushi and cooked foods. This will be one of our new (old) local hotspots. While I was a frequent diner at Matsuhisa years ago, I felt that it had dropped significantly in terms of meal quality in recent times. So needless to say, I didn't expect much from the sister restaurant up the street. However, I was mistaken in my assumptions -- the food was spectacular, and I don't say that often, though I eat out at fine dining establishments often. The toro and yellowtail taste like Nobu got priority down at the Wharf (which I hear he does anyway) and the lobster was amazing. Even though I'm not a "chain" restaurant advocate, we just did Nobu in West Hollywood and had a terrific dinner with good service. It was my best friends birthday and we had a small surprise dinner for him. The service was perfect as usual. Food was outstanding and a special hosted name Kenza deserves a huge huge raise! We wanted to be in the front room where it was a bit more lively and within 15 minutes we where whisked away to a vibrant table in the center of the main dining room. The night went amazing.
