Nobu Los Angeles is the latest and most glamorous addition to the Nobu empire in the United States. It opened in the spring of 2008 and was designed by world renowned architect David Rockwell in the famed L'Orangerie space on La Cienega Boulevard. The menu features chef owner Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature dishes such as Toro Tartar with Caviar, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, and Black Cod with Miso. Nobu Los Angeles also offers local specials like Wagyu Tacos, Seabass Jalapeno Miso and Kanpachi Sashimi with Baby Artichoke and Yuzu Dressing, which already have a loyal following.Continued

  • "Went to nobu for the first time. Food and device was excellent. Server josh was amazing. He recommended dishes that we tried and he was correct. Yes the food is pricy but worth the cost. They even had a full list of red wine which some Japanese restaurants do t even have. Will come again."

  • "Food and service were outstanding. This is by far the best Nobu I have been to. Only criticism was the food came out too quickly for our party of six."

  • "Going to Nobu to eat the black cod became a must for me"

  • "Food was simply fantastic and the service was brilliant. We had a very knowledgable and friendly host. I even spotted a couple of my favourite HW stars. A+++ Highly recommended."

  • "The Toro here was mind blowing. Expensive but a must have for Sushi Fans. In Fact most dishes were superb including the Sweet Shrimp (Scampi), Yellowtail with Jalapeno, Pork Belly and the traditional Sushi was excellent quality. Our Server recommended most dishes and nailed it. I have been to the NY restaurant and this is a little better, can't wait for one to open up in Sydney."

  • "If you know your sushi, this is an excellent place to find great food! Expensive but a lovely ambiance and attentive staff. If you don't know your sushi/Japanese terminology...this is almost a stressful dining experience."

  • "Nobu has been on my list...and I'm glad I went. The food that we tried varied - some fantastic, some good, some not so good. Yellowtail Sashimi - fantastic. Tacos - outstanding. Baked King Crab roll - skip it - boring, not worth the price. Tempura - nice selection, but definitely not nearly the best I've had. The rolls - presentation is excellent, but they are routine. VERY expensive. It was worth it for the experience, but I doubt I'll return."

  • "This was our first time at this location and we found the venue to be charming decor. The food was amazing, but overpriced and the service felt a bit rushed and we didn't like the abrupt team approach to service when all along we have created a rapport with our waiter. If you haven't been it is well worth going, however next time we will try something new."

  • "Prefer the Malibu location to this one. Service was poor and it was very very loud."

  • "Great sushi and service. We ordered a hot shrimp dish that was quite disappointing for a $22 price tag. I think it was the popcorn shrimp but it was not up to their standard. The sushi is very good and the service is excellent."

  • "Very strange service. Our server was too busy to pay attention to us until 1/2 thru our meal. Her assistant helped us but she was very cool in personality, probably why she was an assistant. Another server was very friendly and nice, wish we had him as our server. Food was ok, maybe there are too many Nobu restaurants and details are lacking."

  • "Many restaurants owned by celebrity chefs often are overpriced and do not live up to the media hype. The Los Angeles Nobu has an elegant ambience. The service is friendly and efficient. The hostesses looked like Charlie's Angels. The Kobe Beef Teppanyaki style was exquisite in tenderness and marinated flavor. I am looking forward to visiting other Nobu locations."

  • "Food was great, nice presentation, little salty for me, We had shef's menu that had 7 course meal, too much for one person but I enjoyed it. Will go back again. Friendly service."

  • "Loved Nobu!!! Food, attentive and knowledgeable wait staff, cool ambiance. It all works. Not just sushi/sashimi. Some truly inventive ideas. Have to try to chocolate pop for dessert!!!"

  • "Unlike the New York location that still seems to care, this Nobu was a tremendous disappointment. The food was barely edible and the service was lackluster. So many better options in the area - stay away from this restaurant."

  • "They really elevate traditional Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend dining here at least once whether you like Japanese food or not. They also have very good vegan-friendly options. Be sure to leave room for dessert as well!"

  • "I heard so much about this place. Glad I tried it. The food was good (but for the price, I thought it would be wow). Setting was great. The best part was the ambience and the quality of the service. The staff were super friendly and professional. They really take care of you. This is a great place for special occasions. Overall it was a good experience. Then again, for the price, I really thought the food and presentation would be wow. So, go there on special occasion."

  • "Outstanding food. Unique takes on traditional Japanese foods. The highest quality sushi you've ever had outside of a high end sushi bar in Japan. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Trendy atmosphere."

  • "Best meal I have had in a long time. Don't drink here, though. I'm usually buzzed after one or two cocktails, but here I had 4 and did not feel a thing. My guest even said the same thing. It was as if there was no alcohol in our cocktails. Definitely short pours. Eat here, don't drink here."

  • "This was not my husband and I's first trip to Nobu (we usually go to the one in Vegas), but it was our first time at the LA location. The staff was friendly and VERY knowledgeable on the menu. Impressive. Our waitress guided us through everything we ordered. We started with the pate and caviar. It was our favorite dish next to the Kobe sliders. The pork belly is fantastic! Nobu is definitely a place you splurge so don't go with a "budget" in mind. Champagne can be ordered by the glass. Overall the food was great. ANYTHING you order will be wonderful, so this is place to try new things or experiment. And I must say, even though Nobu is all "Hollywood," there is a kind of homey, friendly vibe with the chefs and staff that feels genuine."

  • "Wow, what a hideous experience. I travel extensively and dine out frequently. This was my second time dining at this particular Nobu, and I was happy to be returning. The entire evening was ruined by our waiter. We were a party of eight and he convinced us that he could put together a great meal, respecting food preferences, budget etc. He proceeded to bring us ridiculously expensive dishes that we didn't particularly like. We felt like the entire meal was one big con job. Look, in a city like LA there are hundreds of fantastic restaurant options, places that actually respect their customers and aren't trying to rob them. Nobu made a big mistake with us, we will never return."

  • "Extremely high level of service, there is no doubt that Nobu spend a great deal of time recruiting and training some really outstanding staff - not intrusive, always friendly, just right. Consistent and impressive."

  • "The place looked good, the scene was good. The food was good but the portions were microscopic. We had 7 dishes between 4 of us and drinks. We still had to go to dinner somewhere else after at the Peninsula so we can get full."

  • "I've dined in NOBU New York and NOBU Lana'i before. They are both better than this NOBU. This time, my husband and I both ordered the new year's eve chef's tasting menu, unfortunately both of our sets are the same -- different from what we had in the other two NOBUs. In the other two when we both order chef's tasting menu the chef would prepare two different sets of meals for each one of us. So we can share and taste each other's dishes."

  • "First visit to Nobu LA but have eaten Japanese all over the world. Overall, a great experience matched by great food and service. The menu is very extensive but we basically left it with our waitress who organised a series of shared dishes to sample. Proved a great decision and she was very thoughtful in explaining each dish. The wine list was also quite extensive but without being outrageously expensive or short of reasonably priced choices, including the lovely Chardonnay from Australia we enjoyed."

  • "This my first time at the LA location. Hidden gem on Cahuenga really. Looks small but you enter a different world. Food is pricey and delicate but worth the indulgence once and awhile. Surprisingly, my favorite item of the night was the lobster tacos. great flavor."

  • "We live between Miami and Los Angeles and this is the first time dining at Nobu in L.A.. The ambience in Miami is so different where you feel a warmth and more of a welcome vibe. The food the well prepared and perfectly seasoned! Higher priced than your average sushi restaurant due to the quality of fish and the name it represents. The waiters are all young staff. Elegantly set inside."

  • "I was so glad that everything I have heard about Nobu proved true and more. I love a restaurant that has fabulous wait staff who know how to make recommendations. From our waitress to the busboy and the expeditors - they all made great recommendations, showed fabulous enthusiasm for the different things we ordered. We did not even order from the menu - took recommendations and let them even create items for us. A great place for the vegetarian - so many flavorful choices. I would never hesitate to go again."

  • "We love Nobu and have had great meals at 4 different locations. We had the first seating of the evening. The food was fantastic as always. The food is typically brought out in waves, but either because we were there early or they were trying to turn our table over quickly it all came too fast. Bottom line, it was still a great meal."
