    Please join Chef Barbara, Cat Silirie, a collection of talented alumni, and our current team for a very special evening to celebrate 15 years of food, wine, cocktails, and countless memories here on the Hill.

    The festivities will pay tribute to our classic dishes and libations as well as the personalities that have made this such a special place. A five-course menu will be prepared by a host of No. 9's current and previous chefs, including Chef Barbara, and be paired with wines selected by Executive Wine Director Cat Silirie. The celebration will begin and end with cocktail receptions that feature signature cocktails and bar bites and an opportunity to visit with the No. 9 team, past and present.

  • "Barbara Lynch's name precedes her in the national and especially Boston food world and she did not disappoint. Truly everything was perfect for our evening. Namely, we were on a time budget, needing to make it to a play just down the road, so the staff kept us on schedule. We arrived early and had a brief time at the petite bar and seating area. Great Belgian beers and creative cocktails. Next, we sat and picked our waitresses brain for a really long time about the delicious menu and the curious list of ingredients. She knew every last detail and was happy to oblige. Bonuses: we received a chef's gift of an extra dish to open, the bread was divine, and we were out the door exactly on schedule. NOT cheap, but worth the occasion."

  • "I came here during restaurant week to try their Chef's Tasting menu which was at the discounted price of $65 / person. Me and my date decided to go all out and get the wine pairings and the foie gras which added an additional $50 or so. Although the service was good and the information about each course/wine added to the the experience, I would definitely not do this again. The food was decent but nothing near what many other french restaurants in Boston offer for the same price. I don't completely regret the decision to go because the ambiance was somewhat romantic but it really wasn't what my date or I expected."

  • "My husband and I had been planning this date night for quite some time. We decided to share one tasting menu and one prix fixe menu. Each dish was beautifully plated and the inventive taste combinations were extraordinary! Our server was charming and knowledgeable, providing great advice on the wine selections. This was our first visit to No.9 Park but it won't be our last. The restaurant truly deserves its great reputation."

  • "We waited a long time before being seated—in the far back corner adjacent to a very busy kitchen. This was a huge distraction. There were other 4-tops available, so it is a mystery as to why we were seated there. We enjoyed the appetizers (crab & scallop, and tortellinis). The mains left a bit to be desired. The duck breast was tough; the confit was overdone. The chicken was ordinary. We did enjoy the pork main. Dessert was disappointing, with the exception of the coconut layer cake. Too much fennel and overcooked bombolini ruined that dessert (it was served to the pastry chef who accompanied us that evening). The glacé dessert showed promise, but two of the three were flavorless and grainy. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive."

It was a fabulous meal and if you can manage the time and expense, an exceptional dining experience. We had gone a couple of times in the past during restaurant week or to the bar-- this was so much better and a whole different thing. Creative, perfectly prepared food, exceptional service, and a homey atmosphere-- great combination."

  • "Coming off a great experience at Menton, I've been meaning to check out Barbara Lynch's other jewel No. 9 for some time. I expected the food to be amazing and I expected to be pampered. The herald seared Foie Gras is very good, but overrated. There was too much time between the difference courses. One of the waiter's accent was so heavy, that half the time we couldn't understand what he said (and I speak 4 languages), we had to figure out what we were eating. The Scottish salmon was incredible, crispy skin, melt in your mouth juicy. Overall a great experience, but its not at the level of Menton."

  • "I have been coming to No 9 Park for years and am never disappointed (I'm not a 'regular' -- the restaurant is a little pricey for that). The food is terrific but what puts it over the top is the incredibly knowledgeable (and nice) staff and a really lovely setting. The cafe is both lively and refined; the restaurant is elegant without feeling precious. My preference is the cafe (though no reservations there). Enjoy!"

  • "Boston native but 30-year SF transplant, I'd been looking for a good reason to go to No 9 Park since it opened many years ago. This trip back, I invited some family to meet me for a celebratory dinner. The menu and the food as served seemed quite a bit dated in style. We were seated in the brightly-lit room to the rear (not the side parlor), at a middle table awkwardly positioned against a door jamb. It seemed like we were sequestered with a tourist-only crowd, while the regulars were in the more welcoming candle-lit parlor room. Our service was earnest but definitely in training. Overall, not the over-the-top experience I had expected, just OK. Not returning."

  • "We received a gift certificate for No. 9 Park and were excited to go. We were not disappointed. The host greeted us with enthusiasm and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered our many questions. For appetizers we had the Sunchoke Veloute and Smoked Mackerel and enjoyed both. Our main courses were Atlantic Hake and Colorado Lamb Loin. My Hake was delicious and his Lamb exceeded his expectations. For desert we had the Caneles and Bete Noire, both of which we enjoyed. All in all, a wonderful experience."

  • "Our waiter Joe was on top of everything. I had mentioned in my reservations that we were recently engaged and celebrating, and Joe brought over a "congratulations" dessert on the house. I had a wardrobe malfunction in the middle of dinner, and the staff even had a sewing kit that I could borrow. The food was delicious, my martini was fantastic, service was above and beyond."

  • "Went there for a special occasion. Had 8pm reservation but we ended up arriving very early at 630pm and they accommodated right away. Service was top notch, food and wine was great. We ordered from the 3 course Prix-Fixe Menu which cost $63per person. Smoke cod appetizer was phenomenal. My wife had Atlantic Hake and I had the Medallions of Duet Beef, both were terrific. Server helped with Pinot Noir wine selection which turned out very well. Deserts were very good. It is a pricey restaurant but we expected that going in so were not very surprised."

I also appreciated the very nice selection of half bottle wines."

We were dissapointed to find out when the dessert menu arrived that the high priced prefix menu no longer includes dessert. For $69 per person we expected dessert would be included as it always had been. On their webstie it shows that the prefix includes dessert but it did not. The food was fantastic, the service was mediocre and we will not return."

  • "We'd wanted to try No. 9 Park for a while, and finally took the plunge for a birthday dinner when we had an Open Table gift cheque to burn. This place ain't cheap, but it's still more "affordable" than its contemporaries like Menton and L'Espelier. The menu was inventive, utilizing ingredients that aren't necessarily standard restaurant fare (e.g. sunchokes), and all the flavors all worked well together. The bartender was very skilled and made a perfect Whiskey Sour. What was also striking was that there really were three servers--one to take the order and explain the food, a second to bring bread/refill water, clear plates/silverware, and a third to bring the courses. I wish we could come all the time, but alas, no trust fund. :("

Everything was prepared to perfection and the chef also changed a dessert to meet the dietary needs of my husband. ( non dairy).   • "Went for my husband's birthday--he got the pasta tasting and I had the pre fixe dinner with Sunchoke Velouté, pork, and Bête Noire (amazing brownie-like dessert). I was between the pork and the yellowfin tuna--both sounded great! Loved my Palmyra drink. I think it's great for a special occasion dinner! The staff was very knowledgeable and the hostess was so accommodating. It was freezing in the dining area, so she offered to turn up the heat. I had to keep my coat on for our whole meal though--I wouldn't sit by the windows next time. There was very little ambiance. To me, it was pretty boring inside. There was a nice view of the Common, but nothing special about the inside."

  • "The food and the service - second to none. I did the pasta tasting menu, which they happily adjusted to accommodate my no-seafood preference. My boyfriend got the chef's tasting menu. Both were to die for. Each new plate was explained to the fullest extent, and made eating that much more enjoyable. Every bite brought an uncontrollable smile to my face -- that's how delicious the food was. At the end of the six courses, our waiter packed us up a great cheese plate to take home since we couldn't fit in another bite at the restaurant. Everything was above and beyond."

  • "One of the best in Boston - friendly, attentive staff from a welcoming greeting by the valet at front door to the front desk and all the wait staff immediately set the tone for a relaxed evening. Comfortable, quiet dining rooms with lovely background music. Easy to converse. Everything my wife and I had from the menu was spectacular. Three course fixed price offered plenty of food. Prune stuffed gnocchi and velouté with fried oyster were unique and delicious. Lamb loin was the most tender I have ever eaten. Desserts were excellent as well. This is a special occasion restaurant that I would highly recommend and certainly hope to return to again."

  • "This was our first trip to No. 9 Park. We received a great table with a full view of Boston Common at Christmas-time. It was stunning. We chose to go with the full 9-course chef's tasting menu. Every item was carefully crafted and delicately delicious. I wish I were writing this a few days after the event, so I could recount the wonderful dishes that were put together, but it is a bit of a blur two months later. Service was unparalleled. My girlfriend needed plain Morton's table salt for her food because she has low blood-pressure, and it works best for her. After simply enquiring if they had it, the manager sneaked out the back door and went to the store and came back with it. That is amazing service! Heartily recommended."
