The food was amazing as usual, but for a Sunday night they were very busy so it was pretty loud. I was there with my 80 yr old parents so the noise level was the only disappointment. The apple salad was full of flavor and the pastas are the best in Atlanta. 249 is one of our all time favorites!

Met a friend for dinner. I've had lunch there several times and enjoyed it. The service was ok but not great. Food was very good and liked the choices. Biggest problem was the noise level. Very hard to carry on a conversation without raising your voice. Prefer a place where we can have a good conversation without competing with the loud noise of other diners. The choice above doesn't give an option for too loud so I chose "energetic". I guess a positive way to say too loud.

Cannot read the menu, cannot fully appreciate your food (especially a whole roasted fish with bone in), and the ambience that requires a shouting match amongst patrons at the tables in order to converse. "Energetic" is when the conversions are lively but easily understood. Not so here. The smallish tables are metal without cloth, and that creates a sounding drum for sound as does all of the hard surfaces without any form of sound absorbing materials in place. It forces to people to raise their voices in order to be heard thereby creating - energy. Whole roasted fish tasted fantastic but we couldn't really see all that was presented in the dish nor locate the bones because it was so dark. St Cecelia has this Ford place beat.

I requested a quiet table for four old friends to catch up while sharing some wonderful food. No. 246 delivered on all fronts. Spaghetti Ancho, Angliotti and squash pizza were great entrees while the meatballs and pimento cheese also provided extraordinary bites. Miranda was wonderful as our primary server but everyone have us special attention. Thank you for a marvelous meal.

The loudest restaurant I can remember visiting. Food, service and concept are superb. Conversation with dinner companions is near impossible. When we departed, my dinner guests and I were exhausted from yelling at each other for two hours. "Shout" would be a more fitting name for the restaurant, but I believe that one is taken.

We must have had the worst server for lunch. Took her a while to greet the table, asked her the special and she had trouble remembering (there was one). She said I will give you a minute ... no lie after 15 minutes I got up and asked the hostess to find our server. She came and took our order with no apology. Someone else delivered our food ... she never came back to the table to check on us. After we sat with finished plates for a while she came with the check and said I hope you enjoyed. Really ... I typically tip servers 25% - 30% with good service ... I still gave her over 15%, but to be honest I should have left her 5% to make a point.

The Optimist is one of my favorite places. I expected this Ford Fry spot to be at least as good. The food had no flavor or imagination. Cheese and meat plate, been there done that. The waiters did not know the menu or drink list at all. Each time I asked a question about the menu she had to excuse herself and ask another employee. For the cost of the meal one would expect a knowledgeable wait staff. This really took away from the experience. The dessert was the worst part of the meal. Flavors did not work together. The "chef" putting final touches on each dish must have drizzled oil as a garnish on the dessert plate. This was obviously a mistake. I felt robbed. The cost to quality was not equal. Save your money for somewhere worth it.

This was my 2nd visit and sometimes the restaurant that you loved so much the first time, doesn't live up to your recollection. This was not the case with No. 246. Great, friendly service, delicious food, including meatballs, stuffed and baked mushrooms, and fresh pasta-- both the spaghetti and the agnolotti. No dessert this time, but I'm sure it would have been stellar.

There were 6 of us- luckily I ordered the best entree- angolotti (spell?) with corn and Humboldt Fog- it was quite delicious. We shared some apps to start- meatball, Italian salad, stuffed mushroom special- all were good especially the mushrooms- nice and garlicky. Overall, service was nice and efficient.

The food and service was excellent...better than expected. However, the table they sat my party of 5 was so small. The table was extremely small which might have been great for our conversations, but the place is so LOUD, that we all had to lean in to hear what everyone at our table was talking about. Even the waitress had to speak loud so we could all hear the specials. If Open Table had a noise level of loud, or extremely loud, I would have chosen that instead of energetic.

The Georgia peach salad is always absolutely delicious, but our favorites are the fish dishes. We especially love the Grouper - outstanding. Food was outstanding. Especially loved the meatball appetizer. Service was attentive and prompt even though the restaurant was packed. The restaurant was extremely noisy which made it somewhat difficult to carry on a conversation at our table and also to hear the server when she was explaining the menu and answering questions. I'm not sure if they were having problems with the air conditioning but it was hot in the restaurant. Everyone in our party was sweating. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food. We will be returning to No. 246.

Service, ambiance, and attitude were all great at 246. We sat outside on the patio- and loved it. Except for the spider who decided to weave it's web above our table. Also, the food was amazing overall but we felt the springer chicken entree was a bit too flavorful. The way it was prepared, you lose the flavor of the chicken with all the other ingredients.

This was my first time at No. 246 for dinner - I had been for lunch many months ago. The dining area was dark and loud, but since there was only 2 of us, we managed a conversation fine. Had we been a larger group, it may not have been as easy to hear. The food was excellent, as was the wine and the service. Would definitely go again.
