Diner Reviews
  • "Its a shame this rendition of NM Café is hidden inauspiciously behind a curved wall that could be a sculpture. Behind this panel of painted wood like upright blinds is a haven for a quiet lunch with friends or to just relax by yourself. The service here was excellent and engaging. The special requests I made were all honored without hesitation. The one drawback was the lack of poppyseed dressing which could easily be imported to put the finishing touches on a great venue. It seems the shoppers are unaware, as the room was exceedingly quiet on this pre-holiday visit, but it was worth the trouble of seeking it out. I couldn't find room for the desserts, all of which looked very appealing."

  • "Always loved lunch at Neiman's in Boston and just discovered their cafe at Natick Mall and it was wonderful! PERFECT spot for lunch with BFF while shopping and will definitely come back with other friends. Food was very good beginning with a demitasse cup of THE best chicken stock I have ever had. Then on to their signature popovers (love, love, love), a superb mimosa and an almost impossible decision for my main course lunch. Many delicious sounding options from salads to a decadent grilled cheese sandwich to fish (I went wild with grilled cheese....SOOOOO good). Wait staff were incredibly pleasant, friendly and attentive and their interest in us felt 100% genuine. So happy to have found the Cafe (thanks to OpenTable)!!!"

  • "Everything about this place, food quality, service and ambiance is very good to excellent. The chef is creative and has nice touches to every dish. We loved the complementary cup of chicken broth offered prior to the meal on a cold winter day's lunch. They also bring a delicious popover with strawberry butter with all lunch orders. This Cafe at NM also offers a decent selection of wine by the glass."

  • "You feel like you're in a sanctuary separated from the mall. The restaurant is quiet (generally), the food is probably better than any other restaurant within a 2 mile radius of the mall (let alone in the mall), and the service is excellent. Would recommend to anyone who wants an upscale, enjoyable lunch."

  • "I perused Open Table to find a lunch place in, our near the Natick mall and the NM Café popped up. They are open until 5pm and we arrived for lunch around 1pm. Lovely hostess showed us to the table and our waitress promptly came over to greet us a tell us about the menu. For a small place, they had a very diverse menu. Lunch date and I had a couple soups (mmmm good) and salads (delish) and had seltzer to drink. Gluten free options were plentiful. A complimentary cup of broth came over after we ordered and then the warm popover with strawberry butter appeared. We finished with some coffees and the grand total with tip came to $72. Wine is avail but we did not partake. Looking forward to coming back with the ladies for an extended lunch."

  • "Worth every penny, would not eat anywhere else in the area for lunch. Broth, popovers, lunches are always first rate and so is the service."

  • "WHAT? A quiet restaurant ? I tried the NM Cafe for lunch for the first time last Friday and loved the popover with strawberry butter and a wonderful chicken dish. Soothing colors, interesting decor and excellent service make it one of my favorite places to eat. I can't wait to try it for dinner."

  • "This is a very quiet handy spot for a quick lunch. It's small and, where we were there, mainly occupied by single elderly women. The service was excellent: very attentive checks for more bread, drinks. On our second visit, two tables with small children dominated the small long space with the noise: not the kids fault (and the restaurant does offer a children's menu), but this is really not a place for the very young or very loud: although the tables are not particularly close together the space is narrow and confined by walls so sound travels."

  • "I was there the first week they opened and it was great. I've been to a dozen or so Neiman Marcus restaurants nationally, and this one is every bit as good (and better since it's new) than the others. The good news is their menu is expanding - a lot of specials that they didn't have the first week - and the service continues to be great (thanks Jules, again, and Hans). So, if you want a great lunch in the Mall - or a great lunch anywhere in Natick/Framingham, you need to go to the NM Cafe. Great sandwiches, good options for kids, impeccable service and worth every penny."

  • "While the menu is limited, the food and service are excellent. If you are in Natick Mall, this is the place to go to."

  • "So the title is the key. There are 2 Neiman Marcus stores in New England, and this is the only one to feature a restaurant. Don't let the "NM Cafe" name fool you, this is a full restaurant on par with Mariposa, Zodiac, etc. According to a source at the restaurant, this is a trial. They're not sure how it's going to be received and what the future holds. So, it could stay a bona fide Neiman Marcus restaurant (albeit with a slightly smaller menu than some of their other restaurants) or it could be just another coffee bar (just what the mall needs). The food was truly excellent, as good as it gets for Neiman Marcus. Lorraine, the hostess, was charming. Jules, our server, was great in every way. I will go back, just make sure I can..."

  • "The menu here was excellent and included helpful information about the number of calories in each selection. Great choices for salads, sandwiches, and some luncheon entrees. Big problem was the service. They started serving us popovers before they had taken a drink order and it took about ten mi utes just to get water. We waited more than a half an hour for our food. The sandwiches were excellent, but not quite what was on the menu. The sandwich was supposed to be with fruit salad, but came with a green salad. It was supposed to be grilled chicken and it was turkey and then they added avocado into the sandwich that wasn't listed on the menu. Let's hope they get these problems ironed out as time goes on."
