  • Fantastic Food and service

Fantastic Food and service, will definitely be going back. The place is small and quiet, great for a romantic dinner. Our waiter was so attentive and the overall service was great. We started with the crab cakes which were the best I've had in a long time. My girlfriend had the boat scallops with risotto and I had the chimichuri steak all the food was amazing.

To be honest I was disappointed in the vegetarian fare, not as gourmet and inventive as I was expecting. The waiter was very courteous but failed to let us know that two of our appetizers were very similar and too much of the same thing our group. It was very clean and quiet and conveniently in the neighborhood but nothing out of the ordinary.

Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for Organic, Sustainable, locally grown foods. Just wonderful! Also, by far one of the BEST hamburgers I've ever had. The fish was delish, too. Now I'm hungry and can't wait to visit again.

The food was good but my friends were served french fries that were cold & had to send back. They had a special (order 2 entrees & receive a bottle of wine) & also Thursday night for locals 20% off. It did not say in the email you could only use one. The food is very expensive for the style & ambiance. I doubt that I will go back again & if asked I would say good food but not worth the price.

Nirvana has great food, have eaten there 4 times. Had a reservation at 5:45 and wanted to be able to enjoy some of the happy hour. We could not even order a happy hour wine because the server said it was too close to six. I can understand the ordering of food, but was thrown off by the winre I try for reservations from Open Table as I feel it benefits both parties and I feel that nirvana should be able to have a little more leeway with their strict happy hour. We were the only people, besides another couple. In the. Restaurant .

Surprisingly delightful better-dining gem located on the end of a tiny strip mall. Interesting menu of salads with add-on choices, small plates and large plates. Loved the Chilean Mussels in a wonderful light cream broth covered with tiny thyme-paprika french fries; the mustard & sour cream reduction on the Beef Stroganoff was outstanding, and the dessert menu is worth a return visit to try something other than the frozen delights (basil cream gelato, goat cheese maple ice cream). I would definitely travel to South County just to dine here again.

To celebrate my birthday, my husband asked ... where do you want to eat tonight? There was only ONE answer ... Nirvana Grille!!! Our party of 8 arrived at 5 pm, we enjoyed a few amazing appetizers (including the Iceburg Lettuce Wedge, Blue Cheese Fries, and bread so good, you won't want to share), then devoured dinner (my mouth is watering as I type ... Mushroom Ravioli, Cioppino, Grass-Fed (Organic) burger, and Grilled Chicken). I highly recommend Nirvana Grille ... whether it be for a celebration or just a night out.

We went here cause we found a voucher on Travel Zoo. This place is very good, however, with what they charge you for the price of the food, I expect the booths, and restaurant to be a little nicer. There were tears in both sides of the booth. Goat cheese ice cream was delicious, however the special that includes the ice cream was nearly soup. I would go again, but would try the one in Laguna.

Who would have thought a restaurant with high quality food and impeccable professional service could be found next in the same strip mall as Little Caesars? It's a smallish place with probably 15 tables and is only open for dinner. You may need to make a reservation on weekends and even when we were there on a Wednesday, about 3/4 off the tables were filled. The wines were pretty expensive both for a glass, bottle, and half bottle but the food was reasonable for the quality and service you go to go with it. I would definitely recommend the gelato trio. Even if you think the flavors should like they would taste strange in a dessert, they were actually really good.

We invited friends to join us at this location as they were staying in a nearby hotel. (My husband and I have visited the Laguna Beach location several times.) The service was great but I was disappointed in the food. The vegetable risotto with smoked salmon was just weird looking - slices of smoked salmon just laying on top the risotto, covering it like a pink blanket. That was it! One of our guests also ordered the risotto with an order of scallops - it came with 4 scallops the size of a quarter, and they were overcooked. Too sad as I know Chef Lindsey would not have let that plate leave the kitchen!

They serve organic meat and vegetables; and since there's not many restaurants like them they are on the pricier side. I had the filet mignon and it came out very well, it was on top of mash potatoes with a vegetable (spinach I think) on the side. They are also very accommodating of small children, which is great because most higher-end restaurant don't. We'll definitely be back for more.

What a nice surprise! The food was very good with nice balance and freshness. The four people at our table were all "foodies" so there was lots of discussion regarding each plate or entree. Crab cakes were light and perfectly seasoned, the artichoke stuffed poblano was delectable and the scallops were scrumptious. We all had the "family" portion of Nirvana greens with balsamic and it was a wonderful salad. Filets were buttery and in a yummy demiglaze reduction. None of us are huge dessert people but each dessert was nicely balanced.....chocolate cake was best.

Absolutely delicious food, and great service. However, it was too quiet for our tastes. I would definitely recommend it to friends, with the caveat that if they're looking for special ambience this is not the place. (Of course, maybe Sunday evening isn't their busiest time - and on the upside, the service was probably better because they had so few guests to attend to). Nonetheless, the slightly awkward quiet-ness did not, for me, detract from the wonderful fresh, healthy, local, excellent food.

I was not familiar with this area and picked the restaurant because it was listed on open table. It is excellent! I ordered the specials which included a well seasoned corn chowder and a braised pork. Both were so well seasaoned that I would certainly order them again. the waiters were very attentive from the moment we arrived. It is in a little strip mall which takes away from the atmosphere somewhat. Once youre inside, it was just great. Pleasant surprise!

The food has always been good in the past. The menu had changed and we did miss some of our favorites. The service was not as good as it has been in the past. I sometimes wondered if our waiter understood what we were saying. The wine we ordered was listed as 07 from Amador but the bottle brought to the table was 06 Napa. It was the correct varietal and winery but clearly not the wine listed on the list. Our waiter only re-poured our wine once and that was after we left our glasses empty for a while. We gave up and poured it ourselves through the rest of dinner.

As one of the very few restaurants that serves risotto, Nirvana Grille makes a mean one. Just creamy enough, and not too rice-y, well flavored. The Poblano chile appetizer is the perfect start, and the blue cheese fries are not too bad either. Too bad they eliminated arugula from the main salads.
