There is no minimum to the amount of people attending. The dining room is available for dinner parties as well as an exterior rooftop patio to entertain for cocktail's and Hors d'ouevres for an additional fee. You may also choose to host a cocktail reception using solely the upstairs rooftop
    We will assist in coordinating a menu paired with wines to meet the Food & Beverage minimum based on the day of the week that you would like to plan your event on.

  • Public Transit: There is a public transport drop off at the main Laguna Beach depot 100 Yards East of the building.
  • Parking: Public Lot
  • Parking Details: There is a lot which is attached to the Broadway side of the center next to the Local OCTA Transit Station for all patrons during business hours. Parking is also available as metered parking on Broadway and Beach in front of and to the South of the building.

Nirvana Grille is a California Bistro located in the heart of Downtown Laguna Beach, between Main Beach & the Historic Festival of Arts.

  • "The food here is always good. Lindsay does a great job with the menus and her staff is great at executing day after day. We like the ability to customize our dinner with the addition of a great variety of well prepared proteins. (certainly not your basic "grilled" chicken breast to top a Caesar salad). Small plates are big enough to share. We usually have a couple each as our dinner. Some exceptional items from this past visit: Roasted Poblana Chile with artichoke and spinach - a modern chile relleno, Blue Lump Crab Cakes - great crab texture and not too much binder to hide the crab flavor, Blue Lip Mussels - yum! A nice selection of vegetarian dishes. The non-meat eater in our party appreciated the thoughtful presentation of the Veg Plate."

The food selection was varied and the items we chose (sea bass and filet) were spectacular. The service was personal, friendly and attentive, yet never intrusive. Though we know everyone was working hard behind the scenes, everything about our dining experience was pleasant, memorable and a delicious, unhurried oasis after a busy day. We will certainly be back."

  • "We had 2 gorgeously prepared dinners - seabass and mixed seafood. Dessert was unique too. Not what I would have ever expected, but also delicious - vanilla ice cream with bits of goat cheese and candied apricots :) Highly recommend - especially if you're a foodie."

  • "What a great place. We were greeted warmly and given a choice of doing Happy Hour drinks and menu or regular dining. We choose the Happy Hour. Wine was very reasonable and the food was very good. The manager made a wonderful suggestion of an item to eat for me that did not have cheese. It was very good. The manager also told us that they have tables upstairs outside. I will definitely eat at Nirvana again."

  • "We went to the restaurant because of a 50% off regular prices to Introduce the summer menu. When we got the menu, the prices were the same or very close to what we had seen a week earlier. We were looking for a bargain and had enjoyed their "happy hour" menu the week before. When I asked the waitress about the special we had come for, said it was already reflected in the pricing. The food was good. The promotion wasn't. We paid more than we expected."

  • "Three of us ordered Grilled Romaine Salad and for an additional charge, a 4 oz. beef filet, weight as noted by the server. The grilled heart of romaine was cut in half with grilled fresh corn, tomatoes and other veggies and was dressed with a very good vinaigrette. My steak portion was 2"x2"x1/2" and was overcooked (medium to MW.) The other steaks were thicker, but they, too, were overcooked. When the server asked how we enjoyed the meal, I told him that the meat was overcooked. He apologized and when he returned with the bill, he had deducted the cost of one glass of wine, which was appreciated. I didn't think it was worth the price we paid for house wine, a heart of romaine salad and a Reese's Peanut cup size portion of filet."

  • "We realize there are many great restaurants to choose from in Laguna Beach and we have tried most of them. Somehow, we always find our way back to Nirvana. It is a combination of a lot of reasons. Firstly, we have never been disappointed in the food. It is always fresh and flavorful and beautifully presented. The service is friendly and personable and efficient. There is nothing better than walking into a restaurant and feel genuinely welcomed by the hostess and the servers. We also love the atmosphere. It is intimate and casually elegant with a European flair which we love. Lastly, I love the fact that it is mostly visited by locals and not overrun by tourists."

  • "We were seated quickly and service was excellent. Many unique items on the menu I haven't seen anywhere else. I had the scallops appetizer which was perfectly cooked with a gorgeous sear and a pheomenal sauce. For my entrée I had the black cod which was divine with an amazing sauce, perfectly cooked asparagus and potatoes. This was truly a fine dining experience. An excellent choice for our anniversary dinner. But we'll be going back for regular dates too (It's too good to just save for special occasions). We'll also take out of town friends there whenever we want to show off Laguna cuisine!"

  • "Their gluten free menu is extensive and delicious, you can really taste that the food is organic, and their staff is very attentive. The night we were there, it took a little too long for my husband's dish to come out after I got mine, but they gave us free desserts to make up for it, even though we hadn't complained about it, because we knew the food was fresh and fresh takes time. We will definitely be coming back with friends!"

  • "It is interesting how you can leave notes through OpenTable and restaurants don't pay attention. I indicated both a history of visiting the restaurant and it being a special occasion. While the night before, at a different restaurant in Laguna, a special dessert and the corkage fee were comp'ed in recognition of a celebration weekend........no such hospitality or courtesy was extended, even though we ordered two glasses of wine from the bar before we opened the bottle we brought with us. This business approach has been consistent by this restaurant over the years. While the service is good, this is more of a business than a warm and personal environment."

  • "Nirvana's food is always great! We have a condo a block away and so we always bring friends and family whenever they visit us. They all love the food. Service is okay depending on how busy you are. But the noise is becoming unbearable. I'm not sure if it's your walls but it is loud in there especially when it's full. We continue and will continue to return to Nirvana mainly because of the delicious food."

  • "Having been there several times for the fish we decided to try the seitan napoleon. What an amazing dish! Complex with different textures and tastes on a bed of coconut risotto. Truly a delicious, one-of-a-kind treat. The kale salad is fresh and crisp and large enough for 2. The salmon dish was cooked to perfection with just enough rich mashed potatoes. The asparagus spears were crisp and still bright in color. We eat out a lot and Nirvana remains our go-to place for exceptional food. "

My friend and I tried it before going to the Laguna Playhouse and enjoyed sharing a variety of small plates. The sweet potato fries with cinnamon dipping sauce was fabulous and the stuffed chile was melt-in-your-mouth amazing! Great wines! BEWARE - the bread comes out warm with the most delicious butter...you cannot eat just one!"

  • "Went for Mother's Day brunch. The menu was very limited for breakfast items and pretty expensive for the small portions. One of the staff's ipods played 90's music in the background with explicit lyrics (we were with our 2-year old), while we sat hungry for a while. We would've loved to have some bread, or something to start us off, especially for the price we paid. The food was very good, but there weren't great options for "brunch" and it was really pricey. Would have to give it a shot with a full menu sometime."

Our Hostess was friendly and we were given a private table for 6 in the back. Very nice touch with complimentary deserts for our birthday celebrations. Overall a good dining experience but we were rushed out at the end which put a damper on our celebration."

  • "I have dined at this restaurant in the past and loved it so I was very disappointed with my most recent experience. We had the Roasted Poblano Chile small plate, Mini Pulled Chicken Tostadas, caesar salads, filet mignon, and chocolate cake. The small plates were mediocre at best. The salad was terrible..they are trying way to hard to be unique and should stick to a traditional caesar salad. The steak was okay and the chocolate cake was dried out with the exception of the center. . It tasted like it may have been frozen prior. Overall, I am quite unimpressed and will not be returning. If you are looking for a great steakhouse try EnoSteak at the Ritz in Dana Point. Also, Broadway by Amar Santana is another really good one in the area."

  • "Read some past reviews saying the receptionist was rude but she was very pleasant. The wait staff also very good and attentive. The appetizers were large portions (hummus and a poblano chili dish). Pretty decent flavors but nothing incredible. The main course of vegetarian risotto was pretty darn rich but my wife liked it. My sea bass was a very small portion drowning in butter but tasty. The side of veggies was small but fresh. The price for the sea bass was way too much (over thirty dollars). We had apple pie for desert and it was served warm and was also tasty but reminded me of a pie you could get at Coco's. All in all, it wasn't an experience to complain about, but I won't be returning for something like an anniversary."

  • "Overall, the food was very good. We ordered the steak chimichurri and the seitan napoleon - vegan. My bf thoroughly enjoyed the steak which was perfect portion size and cooked correctly. My meal wasn't vegan, it had cheese on it. I didn't send it back because the server was confused from the beginning and overall, not engaged. The restaurant wasn't nearly full as it's winter so I'm not talking a pageant night. After we finished our meals, we didn't get a dessert menu or offer of coffees for about 45 minutes. I looked at it but just was no longer interested so we went for gelato down the street. A sure bet. I want to patronize restaurants that offer vegan meals, and I want them to succeed. This was just too disappointing."

  • "As usual, we enjoyed our meals immensely. I love the delicious vegan options; my boyfriend is never disappointed with the steak & fish options. And our server was great. However, this time, the hostess seemed unwelcoming in general (not specifically to us). And when she attempted friendliness with other patrons, it was forced & awkward. My boyfriend and I commented to each other how they need to find another hostess...then, just as we were preparing to leave, we saw her approach a table next to us. It was clear that she was awkwardly trying to hint for the patrons to leave so she could flip the table. My boyfriend and I were shocked. We left right behind the table that was rushed out...and they told us the hostess was the manager!"

  • "Upon first arriving, the manager/owner was at the hostess starion. My husband asked for a booth against the wall. We had an early reservation so the place wasn't crowded. She was quick and rude enough to say (coldly), I'm sorry SIR, but that table is reserved for 4, so it isn't available to YOU!" It was her tone, expression and indignance that immediately soured our dining experience. The food was adequately good and the service was slightly below avaerage. By the way, this place is no longer a health oriented restaurant, as the name implies."
