  • "This is the fourth time I've been here, but I came with kids this time. They absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this place."

  • "Great experience the food was great...the atmosphere was calm but fun even though the waiters and waitresses like scaring their guest and putting fake knives to their necks. You have to have a sense of humor when you go here but it is more fun with a big group. "

  • "Food was a random hodgepodge of American, Mexican, and Asian dishes, the quality ranging from low average to mediocre at best. My chicken teriyaki was tough, the kid's chicken nuggets were rubbery. The burger average but at least not over cooked. Tacos an odd concoction. The positive side is the waitstaff was super friendly and fun with the kids and interacted with them every time they passed by striking a ninja pose, yelling, slamming the sliding door, joking and making expressions. I wouldn't recommend this experience for adult groups at all, I think it's purely for kids. The atmosphere is fun. For adults - the ninja experience was too disorganized and haphazard. Ninjas didn't jump out when they said they would etc."

  • "Fun and energetic. Perfect first date spot. Highly recommended. "

  • "Nice and different! Very expensive! Kind too much. But it's different from other restaurants I've been to. We made the reservation for 8:30 and was seating at 8:30 which is a plus. I hate making reservations and waiting., what's the point. Was very dark inside. Waitress was nice, everything was cool"

  • "We came in from out of town and wanted to find a place the kids would enjoy and would be different. Ninja definitely fit the bill! The kids loved the magic at the table (so did the adults!) and the food was good quality. The decor is truly something unique but try to sit in the village area if at all possible. Go with an out-of-town guest with kids. "

  • "We were a party of 3 including our son of 13. We had a great time and felt very welcome. The staff was very competet and caring. Lots of surprises and very good magician. We still haven't figured out how he did it! One of the highlights of a vacation in New York."

  • "Thought it would be fun, but should have listened to the bad reviews. The waiter was nice but disappeared, and not for theatrical purposes. He said a magician would be in (we were in a separate room) but he never appeared (was that his magic trick??). It sounded like other table outside our room were having fun, not sure what that was all about. We made our own fun though and made the best of it. The food was awful (cold crab tempura, or whatever it was, in a spider roll-tasted like they cooked it way in advance). The veggies were cold that came with the chix terriyaki. Very disappointed for the $$$ we spent. Would never go back or recommend it."

  • "We really enjoyed our family meal here. What a fun time we had with lots of laughter and surprises. Probably the kind of thing you only do once but a definite thumbs up from us and our kids. (10 & 12)"

  • "We had a fun time at Ninja Restaurant. The four of us all enjoyed our meals - tried some things I've never had before - and we thought the staff was great. Never knew when we would be startled next! Try the Ninja Star dessert. It's delicious. Can't beat the price of the Sapporo beer for New York City and it's good!"

  • "This was my second time going to Ninja. My first time I didnt really get to enjoy anything because I was in and out but vowed to go back. This time my experience was alot better and the food was much better as well. Its rather pricey but I guess with the ambiance and amount of ninjas they have to make a profit somehow."

  • "This was a great concept, and a fantastic experience. Probably the most surprising part was the quality of the food. The 17oz. steak was cooked to perfection, and was unexpected for a theme restaurant like this. The staff were great, and got us all laughing out loud. We had such a great time. Thanks!"

  • "This by far is my fav find. The staff was finaminal, the atmosphere was playful and the food was the best I have had in the city. This is where I will being friend and family visiting the city anytime."

  • "I was in NYC for work and stayed an extra day in order to spend time with my 12 year old daughter who lives on the east coast with her mother. As any dad of a 12 yr old girl knows, conversation can be a mix of short one sentence answers littered by long, empty silences. It was a awesome to have Ninjas sneak up behind me and stab me in the neck with their fake knives. The best part was Eddie Nin-gician. He saved the day with his tricks and jokes. My daughter was having a good time already but I think Eddie broke the awkwardness for me. It was just hard to decide if the food was good or just decent enough to be distracted by the Ninjas."

  • "I went to ninja a few years ago and it came across as a upscale restaurant with a small twist of fun. This time when I returned, I found that the food was still good but the atmosphere had turned into something of a joke. There was too much "ninja scaring" by the employees and not enough fast service. There was lots of yelling and screaming and nonsense from guests and lots of kids. I felt like I was at a hibachi restaurant without the grill in front of me. The food was good but I would not return there again."

  • "Pretty funny atmosphere.. But pricy $90 a person .. Cheap beer food is expensive most portions are good for two people including the steak.. Ninjas come out of everywhere and try and scare you.. I got one waiter pretty good on line fort the bathroom.. Guy jumped!! Haha.."

  • "Went there to celebrate two birthdays and had an amazing time. The food was good, not great, but the atmosphere totally made up for anything lacking. It was a lot of fun and our ninja waitress was a blast. I highly recommend this place not so much for the food (which is probably on par with other Japanese restaurants but just more expensive) but definitely for the ambiance."

  • "Went with a friend of mine we had a great time, the food was just ok nothing special but the presentation of the food, the ambiance and the overall experience makes this worth going to. Wish to go again sometime soon"

  • "What a nice surprise! Ninja offered us a grandiose spectacle, a funny way to enjoy food. We really enjoyed this adventure, thanks Ninja for your incredible creativity!"

  • "Walking into Ninja you know it's going to be different, the dark hall with twists and turns are just the start.A 'ninja' guides you to your private dining area, complete with a sliding shoji screen. Part of the experience is that the dishes are as much art as they are food. They are lit on fire, utilize dry ice smoke, & some are interactive. The staff are keenly aware of the level of 'ninja fun' your table needs. While my teen was jolted with the occasional ninja 'chop', we noticed young boys engaged in a short ninja dual with a few servers- super cute-never out of hand-just enough to make memories. While downtown, it's a subway stop on Chambers Street on the 1,2or3 line. Easily added on to a day/night in the city for a show or a museum!"

  • "Our waiter wasn't quite into it as the others but he did a fairly decent job at the presenting of our food. You have to Order something with a "presentation". The steak was pricey but excellent, the kids options were limited. Which is surprising for such a kid oriented restaurant. Overall it was interesting, a bit pricey, creative interior, but it boils down to the staff making it happen. If they aren't invested as they didn't seem to be that Monday night then it doesn't work well. A ninja magician floated over as we were putting on out coats which was a nice touch but a little late as the kids were pretty restless at that point. Overall a 3 as their are much better options in NY"

  • "We had a great time here for my boyfriends 39th birthday. He loves comics and superheros and we both love a little bit of "cheesy" now and then. The table we were given was in a lowered room, very private, but not as nicely decorated as the ones with the stone walls - so ask for a table with the stones, much nice. The magician that came to our table WAS AWESOME. Blew my mind. The table presentations of food were also really fun with fire etc. Overall we had a great time, food was great and the staff seemed to enjoy scaring us from time to time - which we liked too."

  • "My 1st visit to Ninja in 2012 was fabulous so expectations were high. I took 2 family members for their 1st visit. We were VERY disappointed. Food was good but the best part of Ninja is the entertaining ninja staff. We were seated in the old bar now converted to a "rock garden." It's a cave with fake flowers and about 6 tables-3 for large groups. Few ninja surprises because it's an open room and most of the staff didn't even bother doing ninja tricks. Our waiter only made soft guttural sounds whenever he dropped off a dish. People in the village section laughed and squealed all night. They were clearly having the fun we weren't. Make sure you get a seat in the village section or you will miss out on what makes Ninja fun."

  • "We came here with friends from Germany to celebrate their visit. It was really fun and most of the food was really good. We had a lot of fun end enjoyed the different kind of dinning experience. The Sushi was really good and all plates were really large. We loved also that a magician stopped by at our table and showed us several tricks. The only small issue is, all tables are in small separate rooms so catching a waiter is not always easy so sometimes you have wait a while to get another drink."
