  • "It was a great experience. The food the entertainment all were amazing!"

  • "went on a double date. I expected to be impressed. Great decor. Horrible service the waiter's were not attentive. Appetizer was forgotten, no plates were provided. Additionally the Ninjas were horribly presented. Ninjas were waiters in black clothes- the tricks were not impressive. The drinks were over priced. Also the food was ok, but over priced."

  • "The service was great. Everything you would expect in a performance type setting. Our waiter was extremely attentive, very personable and made us all laugh. He explained that certain items on the menu came with a "show". Of course two out of the five items we ordered were of that "show" expectancy. My sons burger (show 1) came in a cake pan with lid, filled with dry ice so it looked like his burger was smoking. Cool effect right? No- not for $25.00. For a burger and fries? This wasn't even good meat. The burger was so dry. Chicken Teriyaki with POTATOES? Overall the service was fantastic, the ambiance fun and inviting. The food was horrible. Will I recommend this place... No. Would I ever go back.."

  • "Came from out of town for a unique dining experience the food was great and the theme was done very well. I have never been to a theme restaurant that wasn't just run of the mill food. This raised the bar for a theme restaurant."

  • "Went here to celebrate the mans birthday, our waiter was great. The ninjas made sure to involve the kids and family in all the fun birthday surprises. We even got "ninja"ed on the way to the bathrooms. The food presentation and overall taste was great. I would give it a sold 4 stars for food. Four of us ate from the pre-fix and added desserts, it was just $200 before tip and we each had 3 courses before dessert. The magician that goes around to the table is great, he has a fun flow to his table side show and is really good at what he does. This resturant definitely does not skimp on any entertainment quality or detail. Even the table bussers are full costumed and interact as ninjas! Very recommended for any occasion!"

  • "We thought this would be an iniciation to the ninja civilazation. We thought we would eat proper ninja food cooked by a ninja in front of us and we would see real ninja acrobatics and moves. Instead there were some waiters poorly dressed as ninjas trying to scare people by yelling and shouting "boo" while people were eating. Average food"

  • "Ninja New York was a great experience. Each party is set in their own little "dungeon" area. Service was excellent as well as the food. Loved the interactive experience the staff provided."

  • "Went here for my birthday. The server was a lot of fun. He even 'knifed' me a couple times while singing me Happy Birthday. The restaurant has a cool ambiance. It was fun watching all the ninjas interact with guests. We had one of the prefix menus, a lot of food! The ninja cocktail was really good too. Go!"

  • "Try something new - Ninja New York is a good place to try seafood and Japanese cooking. A little expensive but good experience."

  • "Ive been waiting to try this unique restaurant for years ever since I heard of the one in Japan. I must say that I was a little dissapointed when I got there that over the years, it had become more of a novelty than a authentic Japanese experience. Of course, its all about the experience and the serving staff definitely made it fun. However, most of the staff were not exactly "ninjas", but more like aspiring actors. I felt like cheap scares didn't exactly make up for ninja authenticity. This doesn't take away from the food. The food was amazing and the presentation was top-notch. I was just expecting something else. Fun times though and a great date place!"

  • "Ninja was a creative take on dining! Presentation of plates was excellent, with many containing surprises. Intimate tables/rooms was a nice touch, although still a bit noisy. Sashimi and Bonsai Tree desert were our favorites from the plates we had, and the sake was also very enjoyable."

  • "I took my little brother because he was so curious about it, and he loved it. From the friendly staff to the magnificent food, the experience was better than we expected."

  • "I cannot say enough about this place. It was a dinner to remember. We had such a fun time and the food was outstanding. The atmosphere is so unique you feel like you are in another world and the food presentation is so fun. Each table is in its own private area of the ninja village and your server makes you feel like he is only there to serve you. Everyone must experience this place!!!"

  • "Most of these types of places have average food at best. Not the case at Ninja. The wait staff does a great job getting into character and making it fun but the food is actually worth the price of admission. Highly recommended for something different and special occassions."

  • "This was a really nice find. It was recommended by one of my co-workers and I really liked it. The energy was great. The Ninjas were awesome:) Secret entrance, magic show, and more.... The food was okay and the portions aren't big but the restaurant was really nice."

  • "Our server was very nice and entertaining in her roll as a ninja, however I would have liked if the main course was served at the same time, if my guest was not so insistent I would have sat there for a good five minuets watching my steak get cold, until her meal arrived, but from start to finish the food presentation was very nice and pleasing to the pallet, however the bill was a little much to swallow; but I guess having your very won Ninja could be pricey."

  • "Had been to Ninja a few years back and had a wonderful experience, so I brought my 18 year old son back while we were in New York this week. What a disappointment! Our waiters did hardly anything but grunted a couple aye-ya's, and the food presentation was nothing like last time when everything was presented beautifully. This time they just sat the plate down at the table. Only one dish had an interesting presentation. Now, the table around the corner was having so much fun that I even questioned our waiter as to why nothing was happening with us. He said he had a surprise coming - a few minutes later the magician showed, which of course you're kind of obligated to pay for. Lastly, food quality had definitely gone down too. REAL BUMMER!"

  • "What a wonderful night! My friend was visiting from out of town, and since I'd been dying to go for nearly two years, we thought we'd give it a shot. We spent two hours there having a fabulous time between the phenomenal food and the great staff, and I honestly can't say I've had a better dining experience in a very long time. Yes, the atmosphere is a bit kitschy, but it's so much fun and besides, how can you disagree with a ninja?"

  • "This restaurant would be a perfect addition to the Times Square dining options, except that it's downtown. It was very kitschy and relied too much on gimmicks to actually create an engaging experience. There was even a magic show at our table. (Ninjas aren't magic, nor do they do magic) Besides the atmosphere, our service was very weak. Things were spilled on our table on multiple occasions. The continual "hi-yah" each time the waiter left the table became quickly annoying. The food was large portions, but still expensive for what it was. The food did have a very good presentation (the dragon roll came with a dragon head that was lit to breath fire, and the rainbow roll came in a bowl of dry ice and water to create a misty fog around it."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our one year anniversary here and it was fantastic. The Ninjas were very stealthy like a ninja should be. The food was amazing and came out pretty quickly. They give you a lot of food so make sure you come hungry. The flavored sake was great and the sake falls was super cool. To cap off the night we were treated to a magic show by one of the wait staff. We had a great time and We will recommend Ninja to all our friends and family."

  • "I read the reviews so I was prepared for disappointment (although perhaps not for the final check). I took my nephew and niece (10 and 8) who were visiting from out of State. I thought bringing them here would definitely earn me best Aunt points, and it did. Very kitsch. The ninja waiters were good, very attentive and fun for the kids, who got to walk away with a few treasures of their own. Some of the food comes with a 'presentation' like fire or smoke, which they also loved. And the magician that came by our table at the end was very nice and fun (although the tricks were relatively simple). Honestly, the food is just horrendous. The rice was hard, the chicken overcooked, the vegetables bland. And the cost for two kids and me? $90"

  • "My son loves martial arts and he loved the ninja clad staff. The children's meal that came covered in smoke was a cool effect. The Katana meal which consists of crab meat, fried risotto, and Angus steak with melted cheese was satisfying and something I would definitely get again."

  • "Very entertaining place! Not only were we surrounded by energetic and attentive ninja's, but we also received a magic show at our table! They posed for pictures and even gave us a special and sweet treat for our anniversary! The prices were also very reasonable for the awesome food!"

  • "I brought my 7 year old nephew here and made his day. It is like eating in the land of Mortal Combat. The ninjas popping out of hidden nooks was thrilling, the magician was fun (and cute!) and his food came served on a glowing bed of fog. When you are 7 and a real life ninja give you a plate of glowing fog you've had the thrill of a lifetime! As an adult the place is fun if you are in the right mindset. The decor is well done and I could imagine this lending itself to a romantic and intimate dinner as well. The prices were ok, a meal for the four of us was $126 which isn't out of line. CAUTION: If you are elderly or have bad vision, take the safe passage to your seat but let the kids take the Passage Of Danger."

  • "My two kids (7 and 10) loved Ninja so much we went back the next night. The service was excellent and the whole ninja thing was so much fun. Its entertainment which makes it worth the price. I'd recommend the lamb."

  • "I went for my 28th birthday. Everyone did a great job of creating a unique experience. The food and ambiance really stood out. Best of all, I thought it would be more expensive though my friends took the tab."

  • "Looking for a great kid friendly restaurant with awesome food for all ...this is your place! It's fun for all! Entertaining and awesome!"
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "The decor was outstanding but this was not a place I would have gone without a child and the absurdly limited options for children's meals was enough that I would not recommend it to others. My son's $25 hamburger was more expensive than the two adult entrees and did not come with the tempura as advertised on the menu. The portions of adult entrees were not described as they were brought to the table and so we were left to guess which components of the multi-course meals were in front of us."

  • "Went for the fanfare, but seem to have been placed at a table where the entertainment had to be requested. Heard other tables being laughing and enjoying the ambience, while we were in a booth and the only thing our ninja did was say Osu pouring our water and attempting to scare us twice though the screen. Had to request a tour and magician at the end of dinner. Food was just ok."

  • "Great place to bring the kids for a fun dinner. Food was good and they were very generous portions. The kids (and I) loved their chicken fingers and fries and burgers. My sushi (sumo sushi) was good. I've seen a few complaints about the restaurant, but I think they were from people looking for a more quiet and romantic atmosphere. The restaurant was loud and boisterous, with kids' parties going on in all the other rooms. It was perfect for me and two 9 year-olds!"

  • "We brought our 10 yr old grandson hoping that he would be amazed by the experience. What a waste of time and money! The only thing on the kids menu was a very expensive hamburger. My DDH had the ribs, the sauce was awful. I had the chicken, which was not bad. I am sorry that we went."
