Ninety AcresHappy Father's Day!My father suggested Ninety Acres for his father's day festivities and I was glad to oblige! It was our first time at the restaurant and we had an all around great experience. We will definitely go back!6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic experience...Great experience! The appetizer we chose was just okay but probably more of a reflection of a poor choice on our part than the quality of the dish. My wife has the TileFish which was excellent (if a bit undersalted...but rather under than over!) and I had the best Wagyu I can remember having. Will certainly be returning...6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial ExperienceNever fails to please and impress! From the time you drive up the access road through the bucolic countryside, you know that you that you are in for a special experience. Gorgeous restaurant, polished, attentive wait staff and an innovative menu that is sure to please any hardcore foodie. Don't forget to experience the outdoor patio with the warmth of a fire pit and a terrific drink!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time dining at NinetyOur first time dining at Ninety Acres and we will definitely be returning.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFine DiningThey doit all right here. Service, grounds, and all as a backdrop for exceptional fare!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food/great serviceFood was delicious and the service wonderful. Service was well-paced and servers very knowledgeable.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFantabulous !Everything was great, I couldn't find anything to complain about. The service, food, staff really knows how to provide a good service. Great job guys. We will be back for some more soon.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMfavorite dining experienceWOW! Every single morsel that touch my mouth was amazing. What a unique experience. Delicious dining6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Dining in a Casually settingNinety acres is a beautiful spot with excellently prepared dishes that qualifies for what I call destination dining. My yellow fin tuna appetizer and scallops main course were both excellent preparations of fresh fish, that I enjoyed with a lovely New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. I have been pleased with each of my several experiences here and look forward to the next one.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent! IThe food was excellent! I had the duck and it was perfect. It was prepared perfectly but the vegtables and sauce made it most memorable.
My wife had the gazpacho and it was delicious. We tried to coax the recipe from the server and got some of the ingredients. I always thought that gazpacho was unexceptional but now, after enjoying the Ninety Acres version, we will have to try it at home.
Service was friendly but professional.
We shall be back!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWish more options on the food menuThe appetizers were very good. The main course was good but not great considering the high pricing. More importantly, the food menu is very limited comparing to other restaurants with the similar price range. In addition, we don't quite understand that if a certain main dish was available for the BMF menu, who was it not offered to clients using the regular (i.e. non-BMF) menu?6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual eleganceI had read about Ninety Acres in N.J. Magazine. It far surpassed my expectations... The service is attentive, not suffocating. It definitely goes down as one of the best meals I've eaten( I have eaten at many highly rated N.Y. Restaurants.). It is a superb dining experience! It was a special birthday and this restaurant is extremely special. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent eating opportunity,Excellent eating opportunity, but be prepared, with drinks, dinner can get expensive.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMeverything was great! Lindseyeverything was great! Lindsey was our waitress and she was very energetic. only negative I have is the wine served at the bar was just room temperature along with the bottle ordered with dinner. We mentioned it being warm and they put it in a bucket. the last glass was perfectly chilled but its a shame it wasn't like that from the beginning :(5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place Pricey but worthGreat place Pricey but worth it. Services was amazing and the food to die for. Definately a place for a special evening. Great atmosphere. I would definately recommend Ninety Acres to anyone who wants to impress.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional ExperienceMenu and Wine list were exceptional. Was there for a special occassion and that what it turned out to be. Service was excellent and unrushed as well as food. Will definatley be going back and would highly recommend.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThis was my second time at Ninety Acres, and I'm SO glad I returned - this time, for my sister's birthday. The food was incredible, as was the wine. We had a wonderful experience.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThis was the second time that I've come to Ninety Acres and I'm so happy to report that the experience was just as wonderful as the first time. The food and ambiance were absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend and I will definitely come back to Ninety Acres for another wonderful meal.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AM60th BirthdayTook my husband for his birthday dinner. Food was exceptional! Service was great! The only thing I had been hoping for was a view of the grounds from our table. Would come again5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSommelier was outstanding.Sommelier was outstanding. She was on point and extremely helpful with an extensive wine list.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMaturing EpicurusAs a moderately regular guest, I am pleased with the maturing chef's palate, mixes and srlections.
The complex highly fresh ingredients are a very complete dining experience. I think, however, one course too many.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat serviceGreat food. Service was excellent. They have a great beer list too.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinner at NinetyWonderful dinner at Ninety Acres! Delicious food and wine. Service
was wonderful.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent foodWell prepared food - interesting menu and dining options5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary DinnerOur head server Katie was very cordial and very helpful with our appetizer and entree choices. The beet salad with goat cheese was light and tasty. My husband had the quail and was very pleased. For our entree we both ordered the mushroom encrusted venison which melts like butter in your mouth. We will definitely be going back again.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNinety Acres = Five StarsThe only criticism is that we had to make reservations 6 weeks in advance for a Saturday night dinner for two. However, it was worth the wait and we have already made another reservation for two monts from now to try the Bring Me Food option. The view up to the restaurant is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. My husband forgot his reading glasses, they had a pair for him to use. We were unsure of which wine to choose and they recommended a few options. We went there for our anniversary and I am glad we did! My husband had the prime rib. He thought he'd get a small portion in a place like this. He was wrong. It was a good size portion and delicious. I had the Scallops and they were great. I recommend the pretzel sundae for desert!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, average serviceValet parking on a wet night - 9/10.
Attentive service from a knowledgeable staff - 8/10.
Wine selection - absolutely terrific - although prices are what you'd expect - 9/10.
Appetizers - yellowfin tuna, arugula salad & celery+leek soup - 7.5/10 (better than average, but not great)
Apps get cleared, 40 minutes go by, then entrees show - NOT GOOD! - 5/10 for the kitchen & staff for not pushing the kitchen!
Entrees - seared king salmon, strip steak, ribeye & truffle fettucine (from the app menu for the vegetarian in the group) - 8/10 (good, not memorable)
Desserts - pretty good, nothing memorable. 6/10
2h:20m for a 3-course meal - a tad too long by my standards
Overall - 8/105/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONIn a class of its own, this restaurant has it all. Superb fare, excellent service and conducive environment. My wife and I enjoyed the best meal in our lives over a 2 1/2 hour period enjoying 6 individually prepared courses served by the head Chef David. We savored the delicate flavors of each course which blended with perfection.
The experience begins with an enjoyable drive up a winding road through a magnificent estate ending at a beautiful mansion converted into a high class restaurant. Make a reservation well in advance to achieve success. Don't miss this one.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOpted for the fixed priceOpted for the fixed price 4 course menu - a good deal with the wine pairings. Every course was excellent, particularly the Barnegat scallops, the portions were appropriately sized and well -timed so you could get through the meal without feeling like you were over-eating. The staff was very attentive and very knowledgeable. Overall a great experience. Perfect for a special occasion.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNot as great as other timesWe had the tasting menu in the open kitchen area. Most of the portions were too large for a tasting menu. The food was quite good up until the dessert. We felt the dessert was an embarrassment to the restaurant. It was an ice cream sandwich perched on its side, with a few smears of sauces. For their prices and the overall caliber of the restaurant, we should have been served something so much better. Aside from the dessert being so ridiculously ordinary, the chocolate cookie tasted like cardboard. Although the meal was quite good, the dessert really cast a negative impression over the whole meal. Also we had the wine pairing and the wine service was quite amateurish.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMReally a great place to celebrateReally a great place to celebrate something special. A little expensive, but worth it.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMvery nice eveningThe service, facility, and ambience at 90 acres were all wonderful. The appetizers and the drinks were also superb. My girlfriend enjoyed her pizza very much (in my opinion, the crust was a bit soggy), but my wagyu sirloin, which should have been melting in my mouth, was chewy, to say the least. The rest of the night was so nice that it's almost excusable, but I was really looking forward to the steak, and although it was cooked to the right temperature, it had the mouth feel of shoe leather. We will definitely return and give some other menu selections their chance.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue culinary experienceCertainly among the top five dining experiences I've ever had. The bring me food and wine tasting menu in the open air kitchen was amazing. The grounds are exceptional. A must see and experience restaurant.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had heard about 90 AcresWe had heard about 90 Acres for some time and wanted to finally enjoy a nice evening out there for drinks and dinner. My wife and I loved everything about it; the food was amazing, the wait staff was great, the bartenders knew their drinks (very creative drinks). Loved the entire atmosphere of 90 Acres. We booked our dinner two months ago and have already booked our next one to enjoy 90 Acres.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite!Ninety Acres is by far our favorite restaurant. We opted for the BMF (Bring Me Food) menu. Very unique and special experience. If you're open to creative dishes, you'll enjoy this. Chef Felton delivered each course with a full description and everything was wonderful. The farm to table feature is obviously paying off as the food looks and tastes fresh. With the BMF menu, you are seated "in the kitchen" so you can observe the inner workings of this professional kitchen. However, our table wasn't ready so they made a spot for us in the private party room just off the kitchen. We weren't able to see the kitchen from that spot which was a disappointment but we got over it quickly. Ninety Acres is beautiful and very special.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExtrodinary Dining ExperienceFrom the second you arrive you know the dining experience is going to be special. The "Bring Me Food" is a must try culinary experience. The creations are unique and the ingredients fresh. They also easily accommodate dietary restrictions without limiting the experience.. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful eveningThe setting is idyllic and it helped that it was a beautiful spring day. Drinks outside (a fire pit took the chill out of the air) was relaxing and romantic. The menu was varied and interesting with inclusion of local foods and sustainable wines. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and chose a wine for us based on our preferences (typical resaturant menu wines were not on the menu) that was superb.
Can't wait for another special occasion to return.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect dining experience! From the drive to Natarar, the service, the staff, the quality of the food and presentation, wine menu, scenery to the overall atmosphere everything was excellent!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dining ExperienceWe were a party of 8 at Ninety Acres for the first time. WE ordered a variety of items from the menu and shared. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. The waite staff was knowledgable of the menu and able to answer any questions. Other than it being very noisy, it was a marvelous experience and we would definitely go back!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous meal from entreeFabulous meal from entree to dessert. Great choice of wines and a lovely establishment. Only issue - getting reservations - they're a victim of their own success.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMac n Cheese LetdownEverything was above par for this pricey, yet delicious establishment. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars was their take on a side order of Mac n Cheese. I think someone forgot to add the cheese to the mac! It was bland and tasted like buttered noodles. So very disappointing, especially after tasting the venison and steak we had ordered.
All in all a great place, but for a restaraunt that steps outside the box with so many of its dishes, they really swung and missed with the mac n cheese!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat customer service fromGreat customer service from the hostess to those individuals busing the tables. Extensive wine list, very good food and a great atmosphere. This was a birthday dinner for my wife, who is a tough judge, and she loved the experience!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was Amazing!!! AMAZINGIt was Amazing!!! AMAZING views! AMAZING FOOD! I go all the time now!!! AMAZING SEVICE!!!!!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely SpectacularEverything about our expereince was excellent. The food, we chose the wine pairing with their market menu, was flawless. Their preparation of the seasonal ingredients was sublime. The wine pairings were thoughtful and elevated the meal. The service was friendly and effcient. The property is stunning. It is literally hidden away on the Natirar Estate. So if you think you are lost once you are on the property, have faith, the road will get you there. It is magnificent. Leave extra time to find your way.
Book well in advance. We booked our next reservation upon leaving!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food + service; loudDinner at Ninety Acres was nice; menu had some nice embellishments on each common themese. The Wagyu top sirloin had a nice flavor; the polenta with crispy pork appetizer was also something I haven't seen before.
The sommelier was helpful in findind a wine to split the difference between my steak and my wife's black bass.
Cocktails were quite good, and they had Pappy Van Winkle on the after dinner tipple list - not a common find in these parts.
The restaurant noise level was energetic; it was a Friday night reservation, so that's not entirely a surprise, but if you were looking for a quiet romantic dinner for two - this wasn't it.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOverallMy overall experience was outstanding, but I did feel a little overwhelmed by all the different waiters/servers/bartender/etc. that waited on our table. Having so many different people waiting on one table, at times, becomes confusing. They all did their job well, I guess I would prefer only one or two waiters.
It would also be a good idea to give your clients a hand written note card stating the name of the person or people who are sending complimentary drinks or desserts to the table. This avoids confusion on whether or not the client was informed as to who is paying for their teat, especially if the complimentary item was phoned in.
I will definitely be visiting again.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth waiting for a reservationThis is a must visit for anyone who lives in Northern NJ (or visits Northern NJ)who enjoys a good restaurant and is willing to pay the price. The food was great, the wine selection is good but they only have European wines and I think California wines. No wines from South America. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food tremendously. It can be pricey, but worth it. We were able to hear each other (not noisy); and their service was really great. We went on a Tueday night (group of 7) for a work dinner. If you are not familiar with the area it's easy to get lost. Make sure you investigate how to get there in advance. I'm definitely going back with my husband for a special occasion. Tough to get a reservation4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMHave yet to be disappointed.Have yet to be disappointed. Every aspect of the experience from the valet, to the hostess, to our server explaining the evenings menu was as you would have expected. It's worth the wait.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe drive up to the restaurantThe drive up to the restaurant is absolutely the best. The restaurant is set in the carriage house on the former estate of King Hassan of Morocco. It's an unbelievable drive from the street entrance to the building. Rolling hills, rivers, streams. You name it, It has it and impresses.
First date will assure you a second if you come here.
As far as the food, it's ok. I've had much better in many places. I had the pork chop and it was just ok and it was served almost cold. I complained and they reheated it and it was fine. I really don't remember what my wife had, which is the point. Friends had the "farmers plate" which that night was prime rib. Again it was ok.
Great bar and outside patio and the mixed drinks were fantastic.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and reasonablyGreat food and reasonably priced considering its one of the top rated restaurants in NJ. The drive up to the restaurant is very pretty and the grounds are stunning. The service was good but I expect to be treated a little closer to royalty if this is supposed to be one of the best in Nj. This is the reason for the 4 star rating.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
